@capnk I’ve owned mine for two years and I’ve only needed something stronger than a paper towel once.
I can’t remember what stupid thing I did to bond stuff to the cooking surface so strongly. It included putting it away dirty, but there must have been additional steps to make it worse than just that.
I got the stuff off by boiling vinegar in it. Then I had to re-oil it.
@RedOak There once was a couple named Hunt who performed a remarkable stunt. While he was in jail they had sex through the mail, for she had a detachable (plates).
…interesting but I have a George Forman and a Quesadilla maker. Something tells me this would get exactly a month of use before it ended up stored on my back porch for all eternity
Bought 2 of these June 27th 2015 ,(same price) used it once and gave one away its worth the money but just another cooking toy for adults… the info mercial sold me last time it does do alot!! I can recommend
@mellowirishgent Mine sits on a shelf on my kitchen island, used only once. It mocks me. I feel guilty for wasting money on the thing because I actually bought three of them. It seemed like such a good idea at the time.
Was going to give my Dad one for his cabin–until I visited the cabin to see he already had a dust collector exactly like this (thanks, Mom).
Gave one away for a Senior Center raffle so it could gather dust in someone’s kitchen, and the third one, NIB, is shoved under a spare dining room waiting for me to find another victim to pass it on to.
I got one of these in a fuku/o I think… or was it a hamburger one… either way they store nicely in their shipping box and stack well with other things.
I have cooked steaks, pizza, chicken pot pies, hot sammies, all kinds of stuff on these for the past two years.
Great for a single guy living on a boat - heat/cook fast, clean & stow easily, and are versatile.
I bought one when it came up previously. I hated it and threw it away. The inserts and accessories don’t fit together properly in it, so it was a mess to put it away in the cabinet (maybe I should have kept the box it came in). It just felt junky. I never actually attempted to cook anything in it.
@Lumpen So it’s not just me who can’t seem to get the darned parts to store like they look like the should in the photographs! For the life of me, I can’t figure how I can be so stupid I’m failing basic storage (and use) assembly.
@hamjudo So basically it’d be faster to cook stuff on the hood of a car in summer than to use the pans? Didn’t use the pans the single time I used the cooker.
It just seemed like such a good deal at the time. The only good thing that has come out of the purchase is I’ve discovered one of the twins can do a bang on impression of Cathy Mitchell.
@wew My dad makes this fabulous dump cake that requires cake mix and a stick of butter, canned peaches, (or cherry/blueberry pie filling, depends on what is in his pantry) and lord knows what else. I really try to avoid the wheat and the sugar because it seems those two foods set off some arthritis flares, but damn, it’s one of those 70’s desserts that can be hard to resist.
I’m a fan of the layered “lush” desserts. like these: http://www.crazyforcrust.com/2016/04/layered-dessert-lush-recipes/.
@sammydog01 You can do the following recipe with a boneless pork roast or super thick pork chops. Simply adjust the cooking time.
Place the chuck roast into slow cooker.
Sprinkle entire envelope DRY ranch dressing mix.
Top with entire stick of butter. Yes, all of it. The whole damned stick. Add 5-9 large pepperoncini peppers, or half a small jar of sliced.
Pour 1/2 cup water at bottom of cooker if meat looks exceptionally lean or if your cooker is newer & cooks at a higher heat.
Place lid on slow cooker.
Cook on high for 6 hours or low for 8 hours.
Shred roast into chunks. Serve with seasoned rice, potatoes, buttered noodles, couscous, or similar sides.
@wew Dump cakes are actually pretty popular. Betty Crocker has recipes that are just 3 ingredients, dump 'em in a pan, cook, eat. Also slow cooker dump cakes.
Can I make popcorn with this?
I sorta not really miss Richard Simmons. He was demonstrating one of these on Letterman when it blew up.
But why so cheap Meh? I used to have one of these and I used it all the time. I’m glad someone said you’re not allowed to use these in dorms, 'cause I was gonna buy a few for the relatives.
@narfcake maybe you’re right. I went back and reread it.They didn’t mention it but it could have happened. I bet some of these manufactures have amazing stories.
I have bought these twice on here and use mine all the time and love it. I make salmon in mine a few times a week & spray it with Pam first. I have no problem cleaning it … it’s effortless & have never had a problem storing it. Not sure what most of you are talking about because I got one for me and one for my Mom& we both love them. Then I bought 3 the next time & gifted 2 & both people love them & use it a lot for their kids. My 1st one lasted I think about a year & then I had the backup one to use. They aren’t super high tech but I don’t cook much so it’s perfect for me. Mine gets very hot and my salmon cooks very fast. Paper towel is what I use right after I shut it off
I got mine yesterday and used it this morning. I put an egg in each side of the split pan and two 1/4" thick slices of SPAM in the other pan. 45 minutes later the eggs were almost done and the SPAM was warm. I don’t know if this is the norm or if I got a faulty unit, but one use is going to about it for me. Piece of CRAP, back to the G. Foreman grill, BTW, cleaning the Foreman grill is simple. Non-stick, wipe out the pan - done!
I got me two of them and not one WORKS, did any one have this same problem??? I try everything, but still does not work, am I doing some thing wrong or is it that it just does not work and I should send it back?? If I do it will cost me more that what I pay for !!!
@Pepper189 … don’t just write “this isn’t woot”… I was saying the support here is actually good, unlike another website most people here know about. Contact support the way @retlaw127 said and let them know what your actual problem is.
edit: you will probably need to give them more than 17 hours to respond once you actually contact them.
I droped you a note a week ago about the broken unit the base is broker past the point of repairing . Please send a pick up on it a send me a replacement unit thanks George
@georgewhannasr hi there… is it possible you are attempting to talk to support?

Another cooking thing I don’t need/can’t use because dorm room. Meh!
@mdszy
Your ‘y’ was funnier.
@mdszy y not?
@yakkoTDI I see you’re jealous that I got there right before you.
@mdszy you can do whatever you want in a dorm as long as you dont get caught.
@jihiggs Except for when I’m the one that does the catching as an RA!
@mdszy LOL!!!
If I was going to be jealous of anything it would be jealousy of the people that Google allows to buy fukus.
@mdszy well then you dont have anything to worry about do you?
@mdszy You must be the first RA ever who doesn’t use their position to break whatever rules they want. Congrats!
@Nuurgle I like keeping my job
That’s hot!
Food for thought Eh meh–
Go Cook Yourself!
@Stallion Cook off!
@Stallion Mother cooker.
@mike808 cooker hooker
@Viper1 That would be a cook sucker, yes?
Mom said if I can’t something nice then don’t say anything at all.
@norman8 Bought this from meh over a year ago, and <space>
Based on the amazon reviews, even at $10, you have nothing to worry about George.
How difficult is it to clean the Xpress Cooker? I own a Foreman grill and to me, the cleaning process is the only thing I hate about using it.
@JT954 Your GF must not have the removable plates.
@mfladd getting mighty personal there.
@JT954 use foil it makes clean u a snap
@JT954 While/when appliance is hot, wipe down with paper towel or damp rag. That is all.
@RedOak GF = George Foreman
@mfladd joke missed.
@RedOak not missed. clarification. I don’t always want to seem like a total asshole, unless I mean to be
@RedOak There once was a couple named Hunt who performed a remarkable stunt. While he was in jail they had sex through the mail, for she had a detachable (plates).
In for one. Going to see how it works for making certain items.
@lordbowen Your gutsy, pls keep us updated. The exploits of this machine should have it’s own thread.
ordered my first product in Meh after a long watch everyday… so excited to get this express cooker…
@Madesh ummmmm…
@Madesh congrats! Now you’re in for a ride.
Product idea: sell these in 12-packs for $20 and market them as “single-use”
@awk I bet for most people who have bought/will buy this that’s more or less true.
Unitasker kitchen gadget Fail.
…interesting but I have a George Forman and a Quesadilla maker. Something tells me this would get exactly a month of use before it ended up stored on my back porch for all eternity

@mellowirishgent did you or your friend fry anything? I am curious about how well that works.
@LaVikinga I wish I had a spare dining room.
@rpstrong I use all three of my dining rooms but a spare would be nice.
I watched the whole infomercial. I’m pretty sure that woman never breathes.
I also wish it came with the steamer pieces.
I got one of these in a fuku/o I think… or was it a hamburger one… either way they store nicely in their shipping box and stack well with other things.
@thismyusername very handy for keeping dust off the hoard closet shelves?
I use mine quite often. I am the only one in my family that uses it. Thus the nonstick surface remains intact.
I mostly use it for making little omelettes, grilling sandwiches, frying mushrooms, and frying onions.
I’m waiting for the lid to open and Uncle Martin to emerge.
@mehcuda67 That’s a reference that would do Dennis Miller proud.
Uncle Martin
@phendrick Thanks for the explanation.
@mehcuda67 Nice reference! I remember that show.
@phendrick A ha ha ha

I bought this when it was offered before. I have used it to make pancakes and omelettes. Its nice to only use this device instead of the stove.
I have cooked steaks, pizza, chicken pot pies, hot sammies, all kinds of stuff on these for the past two years.
Great for a single guy living on a boat - heat/cook fast, clean & stow easily, and are versatile.

@LaVikinga The only useful accessory for me is the spatula. A square ended spatula doesn’t get to the edges of the cooker very well.
The other accessories only make sense outside of a normal kitchen, like in a dorm room, living out of a car, or on a boat.
That may be a bit extreme. The heat doesn’t transfer well to the pans, so they cook very slowly compared to cooking on the heated surface directly.
@LaVikinga I want those pork chops.
@LaVikinga I wonder why this never caught on. “Dump” sounds so, um, appetizing.

@LaVikinga I wonder if dump food is regional. I’m in PA and never heard the term
@wew The Dump Cake recipe comes out of a Church of the Brethren Ladies Cookbook from Huntingdon County, PA, so I don’t know what to tell you.
@LaVikinga That’s strange because Huntingdon is about an hour from me. I’m gonna ask around and see if people have heard of that term. Ha!
@wew Dump cakes are actually pretty popular. Betty Crocker has recipes that are just 3 ingredients, dump 'em in a pan, cook, eat. Also slow cooker dump cakes.
Weezer and TMBG on the same weekend playlist? Get out of my iTunes library, creepers.
You’re right that Twisting is most underrated song on Flood… but I still won’t be buying one of these.
Loved the slow platinum write-up, but, unless it’ a waffle, I only cook on one side at a time, thank you.
No waffle inserts? It’s so obvious.
I bought one for our daughter. But at that price you can buy three and even if things stick to it, you can just throw it away and use a new one.
@wew I think the manufacturer (distributor) no longer exists, hence Mediocre buying up all their inventory to sell.
@narfcake maybe you’re right. I went back and reread it.They didn’t mention it but it could have happened. I bet some of these manufactures have amazing stories.
And someone said they make steaks all the time on theirs. They say they come out wonderful. I never thought about doing that.

@jpr9845 Faulty. Write into support.
The pans are crap anyway. Just cook on the non-stick plates directly.
@jpr9845 mine cooks eggs in about a minute. It’s also very easy to clean.
@Pantheist do use the pans or are you cooking directly on the unit?
@jpr9845 directly on the unit, but it’s also possible that you got a defective one.
I’ll give that a stab.
I got me two of them and not one WORKS, did any one have this same problem??? I try everything, but still does not work, am I doing some thing wrong or is it that it just does not work and I should send it back?? If I do it will cost me more that what I pay for !!!
@Pepper189 you won’t be responsible for return shipping. just write meh- this isn’t woot, the support is great here.
This isn’t WOOT…
I got two of them an none of them work, so what can I do??? Can some one help me get in contack with them about this problem???
I wrote the the way you said ( THIS ISN’T WOOT) just like you said ,but did not hear back from them, so now what to do???
@Pepper189 Go to your account and click on “My Orders”. Below your purchase is an “I need help with this” button. Click on that, and follow through.
