@PurplePawprints The shit is no longer funny. I have purchased my fair share of these Korean crap boxes. Ebay and Craigslist are flooded with them. Guess Meh is only open for real business six days a week now.
@Dopepeddler Speaker Docks are what's been on sale for the majority of Fridays. It's not like this is a new thing. It's their business and if they want to sell cheap speaker docks every single day of the week, they can. Also, the middle part of your paragraph makes no sense. What does it have to do with anything?
@pepsiwine This is one of my go-to quotes. I have it posted on my wall at work (next to Inigo saying, "You keep using that word . . ."). Yeah, I'm mediocre like that. I've been in love with the movie since it hit video (I was a married college student with and kid and we were too poor to go to the theater back then). I recently bought a third copy as a loaner this most recent Black Friday. Introduced my cube neighbor to it a few weeks ago. Now my boss has it. I can't believe there are people who don't love this movie--let alone that haven't even seen it.
@joelmw I had to disown my brother because I found out recently that he'd never seen the movie. Yeah, it was sad, but that's how it's gotta be.
On a slightly different topic... I've only just recently converted to Meh-ism, so pardon me if this is a stupid question, but are you (or some of the others who comment frequently on here) Meh-employees or something? I'm wondering if there's a way to tell if someone on here is working for THEM so I know when to give the appropriate amount of deference (or up my snark level).
@joelmw If you haven't read the book then watched T.P.B., you really should. Wm Goldman is a master storyteller as far as this book/movie is concerned. My wife hadn't seen it when we met, now she quotes it to me and with me to others. --In Unison: "Inconceivable!" to any obviously true statement issued by anybody anywhere in our hearing...
@pepsiwine We're just committed mediocrites. Employees have a flask icon. Matt Rutledge is snapster (I try not to tag him too often; I imagine it gets to be a pain in the ass) with a breakfast octopus icon. Among us non-staff mehicans, I assume you know that the goat is a curse that passes monthly to one unlucky soul at a time. The K indicates a Kickstarter contributor and VMP is for VMP members (it alternates, I assume randomly?, for the many of us who are both). But, yeah, look for the octopus to identify our overlord and a flask to identify his evil minions.
@PhysAssist My kid read the book and I've meant to. Though she confessed to me that having read some things about Goldman, his personal character took a little charm from the story for her. But she's a dedicated fan of the movie still. And I'd probably just be encouraged by Goldman's assholeishness (and my kid has always been a tad more conservative than I anyway). I can't remember the specific issue. My current wife is not as fanatical about it--she hadn't see it before we met either--but she's totally picked up on the catch phrases and she and I have matching "Inconceivable!" Vizzini t-shirts. :-)
@PhysAssist We used to watch the movie at least once a year. My first wife (sadly, she passed) loved it. I really need to watch it again, though I feel like I already have it mostly memorized.
@PurplePawprints Well, @Thumperchick has done better somewhere else. I'm too lazy to find it. But thank you. It was very sweet of you to say. And I'll take it. :-)
@pepsiwine Too bad about your ex-Bro, but some things gotta happen... BTW, I'm a Meh-ist, but nonemployed- by them- they couldn't afford me- Hell, I can't afford me!
@PhysAssist Yeah ex-bro blew my mind when I told him he should watch Homeland bc Mandy Patinkin is in it and I said, you know - Inigo Montoya- you kill my father, prepare to die, and he just stared at me with a stupid look on his face bc he hadn't seen the movie. I couldn't believe I was related to someone who hadn't seen the movie. It was like finding out you were a feral child raised by wolves. I'm sure we'll reunite on Oprah one of these days when he finally watches the movie. Oprah- that's still a show, right?
I'm surprised by how few actual Meh employees are on here, then. So many ppl on here have been so helpful with tips and info tha I just assumed they were working for The Man. But I guess they're just really nice people. Very cool, guys, very cool!
@pepsiwine It can be crazy what different experiences siblings have both in common and separately, luckily my brah is as big a fan as I am. We shared a house once, and it was on as the TV as background for a lot of our life there, unless my (now) ex was around..:-) In my vast Meh-ist experience of approx 3 months, I have had the same experiences. All of my dealings with Meh staff have been positive, and likewise, my forum experiences with the non-employees has been overwhelningly positive too. Even peo
@PhysAssist people who are busting on you do it in a clearly well intentioned and friendly manner.I have really not seen much in the way of mean-spiritedness here atcall (with the possible exception of Meh officially creating "SDF". :-)
@Headly Right, that's what I said (or at least, what I meant). Two-fers are always a better deal than buying singly, so it makes sense that this one is at a higher per-unit cost.
@Headly You see what happens when you don't buy early and often with the speaker docks? One way or another, you're gonna regret it. (Disclaimer: I have never purchased a speaker dock from meh, but did receive one in a fuku--and love it, btw.)
Go home. Everyone knows it's Speaker Dock Friday.
@PurplePawprints BOOM! HEADSHOT!
@PurplePawprints

SDF, FTW!!!!
You know why you're here
SPEAKER DOCK SPEAKER DOCK SPEAKER DOCK SPEAKER DOCK!!!!!!
@joelmw I'm so jealous that you're breaking out my Cary Elwes for other people!!

@joelmw It doesn't alternate. The one that's visible will always be the 'rarest' one. Great answer, by the way.
@PhysAssist My kid read the book and I've meant to. Though she confessed to me that having read some things about Goldman, his personal character took a little charm from the story for her. @joelmw What movie is this?
@joelmw God bless, but it's got to be a great set of memories with her.
@joelmw Forget him, and just read for the story- it's very similar but also enough different to be really engaging.
@pepsiwine Too bad about your ex-Bro, but some things gotta happen... BTW, I'm a Meh-ist, but nonemployed- by them- they couldn't afford me- Hell, I can't afford me!

@YahSah15 The Princess Bride -- or are you just messin' with me. Either way, that's what it is. :-)
I don't know about you guys but this is the 19th speaker dock I've bought. I can't get enough.
@magastineau The first step is admiting you have a problem.
I'd buy one for 20 to charge my iPad. These were cheaper earlier. Meh. goddammit @joelmw
@Headly Different size. Though, I have read in the other thread that they offered them as a two-fer that would have been cheaper per unit.
@PurplePawprints pretty sure they sold thus exact one for 2 for 44. i bought the micros a few weeks ago.
@Headly Right, that's what I said (or at least, what I meant). Two-fers are always a better deal than buying singly, so it makes sense that this one is at a higher per-unit cost.
@PurplePawprints Ah. I thought you meant it was the micro. Yes, that makes sense.
@Headly You see what happens when you don't buy early and often with the speaker docks? One way or another, you're gonna regret it. (Disclaimer: I have never purchased a speaker dock from meh, but did receive one in a fuku--and love it, btw.)
You didn't snooze, so you lose.
@pitamuffin hmm... I should add this to the chart
Us here in Mountain/Pacific time don't have that excuse.
@The_Baron cheer up lollipop!
@The_Baron @katylava cheer up, swirley-candy-on-a-stick!
HIFW He forgets it's speaker dock friday.
@Jarf it happens every Friday!? I'm such a noob
@tz304608 originally it happened about 7 in a row and it is frequent since then
@tz304608 Sometimes it happens on Tuesday too. But it's generally a good idea to watch out for speaker docks.
You guys do this every friday, so that the Meh.com shipping dept employees can have Saturdays off, don't you?
@Steve7654
well I'm glad I didn't stay up and that this is how I learned about SDF. I'm gonna blame @joelmw while the blaming is good.
@Lotsofgoats I'm starting to think it was @joelmw that bought all the damned speaker docks to begin with.
@lumpthar @Lotsofgoats Imagine that meh is a vast desert of speaker docks. You've only seen a handful, my friends.
Perhaps you would like to come inside and see my collection of speaker docks...
@poppaearl
@poppaearl Whew! Speaker docks with @mikibell pic I totally read your username as poppiart!! Eh, @carl669? See here for why in case you missed it: https://meh.com/forum/topics/i-want-to-make-a-mediocre-attempt-to-get-the-attention-of-your-buyers
I passed out cold at 10:30 last night without a concern in the world because I knew it would be...
@Thumperchick I wish I had your confidence.
Speaker Dock is the new Frog Leak Detector.
@DrunkCat NO! how dare you besmudgen the name of Leak Frogs! Thats the kind of talk that gets you made the next goat.
