@PlacidPenguin meh Imo… WiFi control means you’re using your phone touchscreen to fly. Geared motors make noise and mean the motors are cheap ones.
On the bright side, HD video recording is nice but lots do that now. 18 minute fight time and two batteries included is nice. And all the Parrot drones I’ve flown have really good autopilot so they are easy to fly. The big foam bumper gives lots of good damage protection in exchange for a third or more of your flight time.
For $50 I’m not sure I’d jump on it.
@djslack
Well that’s good. I have yet to successfully fly a drone/quadcopter.
Last time I tried using the one I currently own, it just kept flying along on my ceiling, going down a little, jumping back up to hit the ceiling, and repeating the process.
I had to grab it from its spot in order to get it down.
@PlacidPenguin This should improve on that experience. It should have auto takeoff and landing, where it will hover about 3’ off the ground with one button touch.
The touchscreen piloting also enforces being gentle, so it should be easy to control and keep off the ceiling.
It will be at least an order of magnitude easier to fly than the little cheersons from here if that is your basis of comparison. This one would be a very easy entry level quad.
@PlacidPenguin I’ve only flown a Parrot once. Smartphone controls were, for me, cumbersome and unresponsive. I’ve logged hundreds of hours flying with regular thumb sticks, so my muscle memory is not in tune with smartphone controls.

Thank you.

I personally won’t bother, because I prefer flat earbuds.
They fit in my ears better.
@PlacidPenguin I don’t like earbuds at all. But I gotta try. If I remember.
