@JT954 Good. Last month, wootstalker had them listed with over 5k items. That’s more than Costco.

They still have a lot, but nowhere near as much as before. All the additional items are listed in their respective categories under their respective subsite.

@narfcake I see what the problem was: I was relying on the drop down menus to see what was available in each category. If I actually click on “Electronics”, for example, then I can find more deals than I originally thought were available.

I looked at my order and the photo linked above is what it’s supposed to look like. The robe clearly has two different colors in the image. Mind you, my phone enhances the color differences. In person, it just looks one tone of dark grey. Can’t even see the bottom half of the skull shadow.

@Barney yep. I’ll stick to purchasing t-shirts from TeeVillain. They only sell one or two different t-shirts a day, so it’s usually months without buying anything. I got suckered into buying shirts from woot during the random sale because they were cheaper than buying my normal shirts for work. (The print is hidden so it doesn’t matter what it looks like.) Those shirts were much nicer than these.
I’m really let down.

I bought quite of few during the random sale, plus I have a closet full of shirts. Granted, they did when it was only AA and everything was screen printed; with DTG and the blanks changing again … well, it’s why I still find it hard to recommend them in casual conversation. “Yeah, shirt.woot is great IF you understand how their shirts fit because there are multiple brands, IF you accept that it’ll smell like vinegar, and IF you don’t mind checking for QC on every order.” … or “TeeTurtle - I’ve never had a print issue.”

I’ll pull out my screened copy this weekend and take some pics so there’s a good comparison of what it should look like. Afterwards, write into CS with the links and to “please forward these pictures to the shirt.woot team so they can see if the print files need to be adjusted.”

I have no idea if my copy of Cooler than You still exists or not since my doggie had a penchant for Ramy shirts, and all copies of Impostor were ridded of because it’s a design by what’s-her-thief that Woot had to pay off after legal issues arose.

@narfcake so woot customer service is so quick that they already shipped me out a new shirt without waiting for photos. I was guaranteed to not have any problems with the print quality. They said to throw away or donate my old shirt.

TBH, Woot held out longer than I expected. Switching vendors is no easy task, but given the what happened to the cut on the Anvils after Gildan took over, I don’t think they wanted to wait and see if the not-made-in-USA AA shirts were going to be affected also.

@narfcake here’s what was actually said after I sent a reply letting them know I was waiting for a photo so they could let their print team know to adjust the files:

Had noticed that my recent premium shirt fabric felt thin.

A fourth of July one.

Didn’t look at the tags. Thought it was Guildan(sp?) manufacturing or something.

It the fabric is soft and thin they won’t last the same way.

I guess the pricing is still good compared to other shirt of the day sources tho.

Canvas is 4.2oz fabric. AA is 4.3oz. Anvil is 4.5oz. My Threadless shirts from when they sourced from Canvas is mixed. The USA made ones have held up very well; the India made ones have all been relegated to the do-not-care, project, or rag piles. Most of the ones that Woot is currently using are at least USA materials, but sewn in Central America; some are fully USA made, when the supply is available.

Since they were together at the time, a lot of guilt-by-association was put on to Ramy also … which I’m guilty of assuming also … which led me to track numbers every night … which led to … disproving every accusation against him. Shirt.woot discussion threads got a lot less combative since his critics had nothing objective left to argue about.

(Yes, there was the later “grammar thread” incident, but that was resolved among the affected artists. No, I will not link to it. It’s past. It’s done.)

At the time, the two were in a relationship, so the accusations about vote stuffing and manipulating the reckoning sales were applied to both of them; remember, this is a time which they were winning a lot. One was caught red-headed, so there was a lot of guilt-by-association. Unlike her, though, the vote stuffing was dispelled when a non-cutesy 30th place editor’s choice outsold and outlasted the derby winners in both the double-take AND original derbies. The sales manipulation was dispelled when my numbers proved how close the reckoning sales really were between survival and the chopping block, and he wasn’t “buying up lots of his own shirts every week” as he was accused of.

@f00l If by that, you mean trying to prove the critics right – except the numbers proved the critics were wrong. By then, Ramy’s work was getting better (less sloppy) IMHO. So I came to acceptance.

His halftone tutorial was helpful for the community too. Him setting up shop the day after Woot announced they were changing the blanks … well, that ended up not being so helpful for Woot, although the Google Trends shows that shirt.woot’s drop was mostly self inflicted. In Ramy’s defense, he didn’t plan TeeTurtle to be the business success it became, as his original intention was a site to sell his unprinted designs while he was in med school.

#187 was about the time I started paying a lot more attention to the numbers. The closing actions in #191 and #192 added to my suspicion, leading up to my full attention in #193.

There was a lot of discussion back in those days, so if you go through the reckonings week by week, you can kind of picture how things were selling back then. Peak insanity was reached in #237, the week after the “announcement”. Remember, this was before the back catalog existed, so once a design was reckoned, it was gone for good until Woot decided to run them in a side sale or special event. That also made the need to “buy now” much greater than it is nowadays, where shirts are available at almost any time (albeit at a different price).

I wrapped up doing them a little over a year afterwards, culminating with “The day old Woot shirts died”. My GF at the time was still active, so she took over the weekly numbers for a while. I was pulled back in when eggplant (purple) AA shirts were announced.

As for the future design mix at mediocritee, that’s not anything I can comment on, simply because I have no idea what the audience will like or dislike. Remember, it’s not going to be a site targeted to meh customers.
