I don’t do dishes, you see growing up my family had one of those dishwasher things. It was called my mom! I wasn’t allowed to do the dishes when I was a kid so It just kinda has stuck the rest of my life. When I was a fancy free bachelor I lost two sets of dishes to mold so paper plates soon became my friend. Nowadays my girlfriend does them. She says she doesnt mind so I choose to believe her.
@sicc574 The solution of one of my friends was to buy dishes from the thrift store for around 25 cents each. He’d use the same plate for a couple of weeks, toss it, and get a new one down. He never had to wash dishes and said it worked out cheaper than going through a bunch of paper plates.
My kitchen has a window above the sink that looks into the next room. The TV is below that facing away, but I have a mirror on the wall so I can watch TV backwards. I can even use the remote to bounce the signal off the mirror to pause, ff, or go back.
@Kyeh And with the large size of a lot of flat panels, you’ve got pretty much the same real view as you’d have had with a typical old-style TV at the mirror’s distance.
Finish up quickly so I can do more interesting things.
Do the dishes. I’m doing the dishes. That’s what I’m doing.
wdwRadio and Lou is my guilty pleasure. Wife says i’m obsessed but I just like the Disney World trivia he puts out.
Work silently with my thoughts.
@hchavers in here, no one can hear the weeping.
I have a dishwasher. Usually, it does the dishes while I’m doing whatever is on the list.
Am I the only person that washes things as soon as I’m done using them? This is like asking what podcast I listen to while I throw my junk mail away.
@brennyn You’d be the only one in my house doing that, on most occasions.
@brennyn I rinse whatever dish or cup I was using and put it in the dishwasher as soon as I’m finished, if that counts.
I just think about the joy of having clean pans without crusted sauce, etc. Oh, what fun.
Wait…wait
Not do dishes.

@sicc574 How do you lose dishes to mold? Mold washes off of ceramic.
Listen to my children whine and complain that they’re doing the dishes while I’m not
My wife does the dishes. I cook.
@olperfesser The rule in our house has been “the cook don’t clean up”. Mostly to keep SWMBO from trying to do everything.
Though the cook role has become mine in the last few years.
unload the dishwasher while the commercials are on…
Stare out the kitchen window at the neighbors house. I wish it was more interesting but that’s what the kitchen window faces.
@Star2236 My kitchen window is behind me so I am stuck looking into my boring dining room.
@yakkoTDI
That sucks, someone didn’t put a lot of thought into that. Or is your sink in your island?
@Star2236 It is a poorly laid out condo with no storage.

And we used to think that a 27" CRT was big…
