Looking back at The Jetsons, while some of the ideas were interesting, there are numerous issues with the society, although I'm assuming this poll is more focused on the tech than the society...
Tough choice between 20s/30s and 50s/60s... I voted Robo-Deco, but now I think I've changed my mind.
Reminds me of a discussion I just had: If you were a time traveler from 1966, how disappointed would you be in today's "future"? No flying cars, space travel is sort of stagnant... oh and by the way, that Vietnam War? We lost. But let me show you this funny cat on my phone!
@cpierce That's why I try not to be too optimistic about it. We aren't going to have anything like what the movies show, but there are a few technologies that are ready even now. For example, autonmous vehicles and Augmented Reality are both in testing and production/design. I predict that AR will be the norm within ten years, and autonomous vehicles within twenty.
While I do love me some Steampunk, I gotta vote Robo-Deco for this. Something about a gigantic, obviously not-spaceworthy rocket with rivets holding the fins together is appealing to me. I remember a "dream" episode of ST:DS9 wherein some 30s SciFi artist had drawn a rendition of the DS9 space station in this period's style. Loved it!
Where do we put Warhammer 40K? From the cobbled together Ork WAAGHships to Necron pyramids, humanity's flying Gothic cathedrals to the Tyranid biotech, there is so much to look at.

Did folks in 1953 really believe this was the future?
@narfcake it is as if they ran the safety autoway right smack down the center of the desert that the roadrunner and coyote live in...
There was no future in the 40s because war innovations made the future immediately available.
Whatever it was in Ghost in the Shell.
Barbarella
I'm a stick-in-the-mud, but whenever I see a disabled vehicle on the side of the road, I'm thankful we don't have flying cars.
Jet-packs on the other hand...

It took me 4 times of reading this before I realized it didn't say furniture.
@hollboll
That would make a fun future poll.
I just realized the play on words in the first sentence. Totally unintended.
@hollboll You're pretty.
@DaveInSoCal
@hollboll
You got me to thinking about the history of different types of furniture.
Now, the Guggenheim will have a golden toilet

@connorbush
It took 23 hours and 12 minutes for someone to go there.
Slightly disappointing.
@FroodyFrog I have been slacking on the forums. My new job is mostly sans-desk. In the days of yesteryear I was able to creep during my 8-6 gig.
