@thismyusername Good chart, but I might not include the one star ratings in the "crap" group. At least half the one star ratings are for: 1. It didn't work. ( I bought the wrong product because I can't read product descriptions.) 2. It didn't work. (Because I can't read basic user instructions.) 3. It didn't work because it arrived broken. (Because the box was smashed to bits by UPS/Fedex/USPS in transit.) 4. It didn't work. (Because it was a gift for my wife's third cousin's sister-in-law, and she said it didn't work. I never used it myself.) 5. I never actually had one, but someone I know said it didn't work. 6. I'm giving this one star with a glowing review, because I think one star is the best and 5 is the worst. 7. I'm giving this one star even though it's obvious that I'm reviewing a can of soup rather than a printer. Hey, a review is a review!
I voted 'all of the above,' but will add one more to the fray: report them when they're clearly not reviewing the goddamned product! That is, the, 'this arrived late' one star reviews that skew a fledgling product, etc…
@brhfl Sometimes I report people who actually are reviewing the product - like the author who wrote a long, glowing review of his own book, under his own name. Sheesh! That was just lazy. An author should at least have the good sense to create a second account for that, and maybe bribe some friends and family members to write glowing reviews.
I have tried to make comment on a couple of things. They did not post my comments. The last one was about dental floss. I said the floss was a great product but at $5.99 it was overpriced, and you could buy it at any store for under $4.00 dollars. Then they said my comment did not fit into their guidelines and I needed to rephrase my comment to fit their guidelines. What a bunch of horse puckey.
@tightwad I have used this floss for years. I did not buy it from amazon ever. I was trying to warn other folks that you can buy this product at just about every drugstore and big retail store for under $4.00. So why pay way more to buy it from them. That's all.
@Thumperchick I have purchased this product a hundred times, at box stores. I love it, it's a great product. But when amazon is selling the same product for $5.99, when I buy it from Target or Riteaid or lots of places for $3.64, all the time. I think folks should know that amazon's offering is way overpriced, and they should just go buy at a local store for less money. It's not a good deal at amazon.
@mick I hope it's common enough knowledge that Amazon is NOT about the lowest prices on everything, so being redacted for commenting about their price isn't out of line.
@thismyusername The "crap" ratings is where meh's purchasing power comes into play. A shitty $200 product isn't quite as shitty when it's $20.

@mick why would you complain about the price when you knew what it was going in?
@tightwad he just wanted to put his "teeth" into it
@mick Why would you review a product you didn't purchase?

@narfcake I only made the comment, cause it was offered as one of the deals of the day. In a back to school special.
