@shahnm Well yeah if you go to bed at 4am like you said above… You need to use some of the batteries you have in your fridge to solve the wake up issue.
Whatever time sunrise is. Seven days a week. Chickens, ducks, and geese are all clamoring to be let out of their respective coops the minute dawn breaks.
@OldCatLady I have a couple of cats I can give you. Somewhere around 5:30am Tigger launches from the foot of the bed to my hip to the top of the dresser to the top shelf of the cat tree. That prompts Peaches to come see what the racket is all about. This requires her to jump up on the foot of the bed, walk up my body, launch to the top of the dresser and then onto the next to the top shelf of the cat tree. Rinse and repeat.
Although Tigger will be 1 next month and he is starting to calm down so maybe you won’t have a 5:30am alarm going off as often.
I wake up the first time between 2 and 3, go to the bathroom, check to make sure the kids are covered. Then think about that stupid thing I did or didn’t do/get done yesterday. Fall back asleep until my alarm goes off at 0450 and do my physical therapy for my shoulder and knee. Eat breakfast cereal, read meh, click the button, leave a comment.
TMI?
Varies. I used to get up later, but then there was a bit of a shakeup at work, and suddenly I’ve got things to do in the morning. By which I mean, before noon. I’m conscious before 8 AM almost every day now.
I’ve noticed a huge difference with varied amounts of sleep on work output, depending on the kind of work.
If I’m doing a lot of cognitively demanding stuff, trying to write abstract queries against disparate tables of financial data, say, then every extra hour matters. 8 hours instead of 7 makes a significant difference, and 6 is right out.
If it’s a day of meetings, sure, sleep-deprived me may be off my game, but the bleary attenuation of my powers of attention make the day go by smoother and more quickly.
I can always wake up later, but going to bed early is basically impossible.
Totally varies from day to day, week to week. I work 7 on/7 off (nominally) 2nd shift (1445-2315). So on my work week normally up about 0800, on my off week it depends on when I (we) hit the sack.
Lately we are short handed so my schedule has been all over the map (this week it’s 2nd shift for M/W/Th/Sat/Sun, Tues it’s 3rd shift, Fri it’s 2nd and third…so I have been up early, up late, sleeping in the afternoon and/or evening etc.
4-4:15 am
@arieltf That’s closer to the time I usually go to bed…
Fuckin’ Meh…
@arieltf me too
@arieltf, same. That’s when my alarm is set anyway.
Anything after 7 would be so amazing. I cannot imagine.
I usually start my day at 9:30pm. Gotta love working the Graveyard shift. At least I never miss breakfast for dinner.
Rarely before 1500.
Sometimes as late as 1700.
8-9am
@Superllama7 kind of a glaring absence as a common choice.
Well, around 7am I’m waking up in the morning. Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs. Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal.
@cpierce Have you ever tried putting the cereal in your bowl? I hear it’s all the rage overseas…
@cpierce And by bowl you mean…?
@cpierce Waking and baking at the crack of dawn? Respect.
I’m retired so I’m up at the crack of noon.
@Mehrocco_Mole one day, i won’t have a reason to get up early too. I owe, i owe, it’s off to work I go.
I get up around 7:30. I wake up around 11:15…
@shahnm i heard coffee can help with that
@hchavers That’s with coffee. Without coffee I’d be dead.

@Pony Same here, except that my livestock is currently one house cat. Maybe I should get a couple more. Yeah, great idea.

@Kidsandliz @OldCatLady We have five cats and two dogs as well. I love the cats. The dogs… not so much.
Between 8 and 9, usually.
Another grave shift worker here… I’m up around 7:30-8PM…
345am
3:30 - 4 a.m. every morning, including weekends
3 - 4:30 PM
I suppose you’re going to tell me that isn’t morning.

@JnKL Blame the goat (snicker).
@JnKL When do you poop?
@JnKL @Limewater

5:30 AM
6:30 CT
Before 5am.
Oh man, I remember having average weekday hours. THOSE were the days…
4:30
When I’m done sleeping.
3:30 to be at work by 5:00 all in an effort to beat traffic which sucks in So Cal. Good part is I get to retire at the end of this year.
Y’all forgot 8-9am
Too darn early
Alarm is set between 4-4:15 but usually I wake up earlier.

The humanity!
5:20 - Which would be fine if I would actually go to sleep before midnight. Rarely happens.

@ronaldr321meh I find it hard to applaud that, other than out of respect.

Alarm goes off at 8:10a. And 8:30a. And 8:35a.
I have trust issues with my alarms.
