Mine varies based on how I trend. So if I do a lot of steps one day the next day my goal is more than before. Right now my goal is at 6,810 but it tends to be closer to 8,000 I’ve just been lazy the last month
No goal. Get lots of steps in naturally by working around the house and in the ER. Hit >22K while touring DC with the grand kids a few weeks ago (While wearing an ortho boot no less…)
I range from a minimum of 12,450 to about 18,000 per day, every day, 365 days a year. I don’t walk fast anymore, but, boy oh boy, am I steady. My main goal daily is to burn 3,000 calories at least. I walk to accomplish that.
From Nov 8, 2019 to Nov 8, 2020 so far, that is 5,460,646 steps, 2,412.45 miles, and 1763 floors, for an average of 14,961 steps/day, 6.61 miles/day and 4.8 floors/day.
Since July 1, 2015, when I first strapped on a fitbit, while recovering from a broken leg and subsequent bone infections from the plates and rod in my leg, my fitbit “lifetime stats” are 20,965,130 steps, 9,293.40 miles and 9,854 floors.
But hey, who’s counting?
I am 79 and my feet hurt (along with my legs, knees, hips, and back). My body is a temple… Ancient and crumbling.
Can you remember when you were a kid and you wanted to be older? Me too. Well this is not what I expected… and I thought it would take longer.
I used to hear my elders complain about the “aches and pains” that come with age. Now I am that elder and the phrase, “aches and pains” has real meaning.
I find that on the 3 days a week that I play golf (walking, of course) I get 18,000 + steps and 20 floors (each day) pushing my cart. So much for those that say golf isn’t exercise.
25,000 steps.
10k but I routinely fail.
Don’t get stepped on. Again.

my goal’s 10k, but i don’t hit it very often now, what with all the staying home to avoid the plague. it’s a bit annoying.
@lifftchi Try climbing the walls if it gets too much for you.

@chienfou In ONE DAY??
@chienfou @Kyeh that’s like around 10 miles! Bet that tired the kids out …
@Kyeh @stolicat
Yep. We spent the early part visiting Arlington, then did the National Mall till late in the evening. We all slept well that night!
@chienfou @Kyeh @stolicat I hit over 14 miles the day I went to Epcot. My usual is nowhere close to that.
I put the cookie jar on the other side of the kitchen. Now I almost always get my steps in every day.
However many it takes to make it outside to smoke a cigarette x 10
My steps goal is not to fall up, down, or over them.

I don’t like it.
@Jackinga Same here, but I guess it beats the alternative.

No daily step goal but in the interest of diplomacy, my day usually features a few tap dances and some back-pedaling.
@macromeh and a little soft shoe?
I just hope to put one foot in front of the other. Damn overachievers!

Not to steps on cat toys while barefoot…
@Kidsandliz or, for that matter, the cats themselves
Trying to lose weight. Trying for 15,000 steps a day. So I tied my watch to the fan.
11.7K
10 flights stairs minimum, 20 goal, 10k steps 7k min. I should set those marks higher.
