Serious question. Just trying to understand. Is it a capacity issue, i.e. too many people slamming the site at once? Or is there a bug somewhere that's forcing you guys to have to manually restart services?
Same post I just wrote on the Roomba forum. Meh I love you but you are starting to show your ugly side and the lights are on and no pillow is around to cover you up, lol
"Boo! Listen up Meh, your servers suck ROYALLY! You are worth 2 or 3 minutes at midnight, but not 10-15 waiting for the darn site to load. In the world of mainstream cloud servers and content delivery networks there is no excuse."
@Stallion they had a fairly major fix in for tonight and I'm pretty sure they're quite bummed it didn't do the trick. Problems with too much cutting-edge tech more than going cheap.
@snapster Yeah that makes sense. You guys know all about mass traffic from the Woot days. Was just hoping it wasn't an experiment hoping it would attract more people because night after night I am starting to not check as much because I usually can't wait for it to load. I love NOTHING more these days than giving you my money so keep the site loading fast and we'll all keep swiping those credit cards :)
@snapster yes, very bummed today's performance fixes didn't work out, but we will not rest until @Stallion can purchase his iRobot Roomba 560 at the stroke of midnight.
@Foxborn The Meh IT team might also be stress-testing the servers in anticipation of such an event. It's been loading slowly at 11 even before that rumor started.
I don't understand why that's a problem. Every time I hit F5, it's like Christmas. You never know what will happen. (But you always know the site won't load)
I think it's like a developer game of server Wack A Mole except with 24 hour intervals between Moles
@snapster damn those moles. So sneaky. Just like genies.
@snapster You should buy them bigger hammers. Or feed qaaludes to the moles.
Wait. Why are there moles in your servers?
@SSteve The moles keep the servers warm and eats the bugs.
@snapster You sure they arent goats?
All you jagweeds hitting the site at the same time, trying to snipe a Fuku box.
@The_Baron Yeah, you tell 'em!
@pitamuffin It's like, "late second-day of a woot-off, time to hit F5 for that BoC" all over again.

@snapster need to install more hamsters.

@cengland0 I'm assuming that meh.com's servers were made from a couple of dozen Roomba's daisy-chained together. Am I wrong?
@Stallion there was probably extra traffic tonight due to spreading rumors https://meh.com/forum/topics/twas-the-night-before-meh-a-thon

@Kerig3 You are wrong. Photo of servers:
