@mamawoot I love my Crocs. They are comfortable, and so ugly that no one is tempted to steal them when I leave them by the door. If it is too cold/wet for Crocs, I have the Uggs boots.
I don't know what they'd be classified as, but a pair of Børn Blast II:
They're super comfortable and my second pair in about a dozen years. I did go about a half-size smaller than normal this time around based on how the last pair wore in, and so far that's seemed like the right decision.
Black sueded leather slip-ons from Walmart. Gannon is the style name. I believe my current pairs is Faded Glory brand, but the brand label is inside, and faded away. The brand changes ever few years. I have bought same shoes once a year every year for over two decades. I decided never to tie a shoelace or pull a velcro strap tight as part of my daily routine. The only other shoes I own is a pair of steel-toed boots I bought a decade back while working unloading trucks, and I haven't worn them since I left that job.
I will also say that, like so many have said, I do not wear shoes at home, but this is less about freeing my feet and more about being in northern Minnesota, where most of the year, your shoes are tracking snow, slush, and/or mud. The salt is murder on floors.
Barefoot at home. Summer - minimalist sandals or crocs. Winter - minimalist sandals or crocs, except in certain weathers Dress-up - fancy-looking cheap ballet flats
Today - LL Bean low-cut waterproof boots, splashing about the enormous pond that covers southeastern US. Quack quack.
Other, stylish-type shoes - they are great to look at on other people.
@CaptAmehrican Top Siders...the originals, now called Sahara Style, I believe. Just got a fresh pair today as I always have 3 or 4 pairs in varying stages of decomposition. Left my oldest pair in the trashcan in my hotel room in Chicago last week. Had to get the new pair today for my trip to CO tomorrow. Never any socks. They feel like gloves on my feet. Been wearing them almost every day for 40 years. So I guess I've been through at least 20 pairs at least, not including the 3 pairs in my closet and the ones on my feet.
barefoot or flip flops 'round the house & while driving, then I usually change in to whatever pair of work/play appropriate shoes (i.e. all black chucks or black heels) I happened to have left in what my hubby lovingly refers to as "a second f*cking shoe closet in my gdamn backseat"..
@Texas_Tascha I also keep a shoe bin in my car trunk. Minimalist sandals, crocs, rainboots, one pair ballet flats in case someone invites me someplace dressy, tho they mostly know i'm hopeless.
Minimalist sandals are my version of flip-flops, zero-drop, zero-cushion. Takes one sec to put on, but they stay on, so you can run in them (they are runner's shoes, patterned after the sandals of the Mexican tarahumara running sandals). Some people dont like them, to me they're bliss.
New Balance OTB Bushmasters, hot weather version. They are as comfortable as the best sneakers I ever had (Nike Air Pegasus many years ago, nothing newer ever compared until these boots).
I don't know why but since I was a kid I hated being barefoot; even wore socks with sandals. Now I'm ok with it around the house and yard when I remember.
@Barney I tried to respond to you earlier, but I guess you were perfecting your purple post… I need to up my shoe game before a trip to the symphony in May… looking for a purple opinion on these.
Roller skates
How do Germans tie their shoes?
With little knotsies.
(Godwin for the win)
@ceagee yuk. I can see im going to have to stay out of this thread.
@ceagee Every day if at all possible, if I'm at home, I'm barefoot!
I am wearing my Dr Dre foot muffs. So many ways, right in so many ways.
Kleenex boxes
Flip-Flops. It rained pretty hard here today and about 45 degrees, but I'm a trooper.
@cation Yes! Flip flops here, I have Spring Fever.
For the love of god, it's "sneakers". Savages.
@kevincoleman
Trainers, you bloody wankers!
@kevincoleman Gym shoes! It's gym shoes!
Damn Daniel!
I don't wear shoes at home. Off they come the moment I walk in the door. The ones I was wearing prior to coming home were my Klogs kitchen shoes.
I am wearing my bunny slippers. They're warm, and I love them.
@Shrdlu "May I say, sir, I admire your taste in footwear."
@ALLCAPSORNOTHIN Every so often I have tried to buy slippers that look like those. I have never been able to find them for sale.
A pair of British Knights.
Crocs.
Yeah, I said it. CROCS
@mamawoot Me, too. Crock sandals.
@pooflady
@mamawoot
Crocs good!

@jqubed Might have to look into these. My Docs are starting to show their age, they're at least 5 years old.
Most recently I slipped a pair of Crocs on to go out and tend to my smoker (four boston butts in for pulled pork).
Normally for work I'm in a pair of Lems Nine2Fives.
For recreation, it's typically FiveFingers CVT LS.

Rain boots
Generic work shoes. Not boots, exactly.

What can I say? I like having options :-D

@duodec Looks like they might be discontinued - not seeing them in a quick search anywhere but closeout listings.
Walking shoes.
Sandals, because Florida.
I have a pair of these:
and a pair that kinda looks like this:
I love purple.
@Barney I tried to respond to you earlier, but I guess you were perfecting your purple post… I need to up my shoe game before a trip to the symphony in May… looking for a purple opinion on these.
brhfl What are they made of? What exactly is Microplast?
@Barney Probably polyurethane? As a vegetarian, shoe buying is pretty difficult for me…
@brhfl @Barney description says "rubber" but then says "microplast" found this about microplast.
@thismyusername Well, that's not vague at all! :)
@brhfl - Those look fun. Also says dishwasher safe, so sanitary! Haha
@thismyusername @brhfl Yep, I bet shoe buying can be a little difficult. I'm allergic to certain plastics. The "jelly" shoes almost destroyed my feet.
@KDemo Hmm, looks like I would have to get a dishwasher. :)
@KDemo
"Where are my shoes, I can't find them anywhere?"
"Did you check the dishwasher?"
@brhfl Interesting side note, I was trying to buy my mom some purple house slippers online tonight. They were out of purple, had to buy red.
@Barney :( what a shame!
