Latest I’ve slept when I didn’t have an alarm or reason to get up was 5pm. But I didn’t go to bed until 11am, so that’s really only six hours. Normal 1-2am bedtime, probably 12-1pm would be the latest. 12-ish hours.
Today I slept in until 1:30 pm. Didn’t go to bed until 3, but still, that’s 10 1/2 hours. Usually I can’t stay asleep past 6 hours. Must’ve been that lovely Pedroncelli port we just got from Casemates.
As I read through the options, I was thinking about where I would honestly consider myself to be sleeping in. I laughed as I reached 10am… the end of the “choices” because as a 2nd shift worker, 11am is my NORMAL alarm. Sleeping in would probably be noon… maybe 1 or 2pm to me.
I worked nights for years and years, and I inherited insomnia, so I don’t get to bed until 5-6-7am (depends on MY level of insomnia), and get up around 1:15, 1:30ish.
Of course, that doesn’t count the hour or so that I sit in the recliner and drink my coffee trying to figure out if I’m awake yet, or not. So… 2ish?
I laughed when the list only detailed out to 10am…
Pre pandemic sleeping in was about 2pm on weekends (work is just 9-5 on weekdays) nowadays it’s more like 4-5pm, mainly cause my general sleep pattern sent to late nights. I never really developed that “tired at 9-10pm adult” sleep schedule – in my 30s now–, def still a huge night owl.
I get up at 6:30AM on weekdays, 7 on weekends. I find that if I keep the same general schedule I sleep much better. The problem is I stay up much later on weekends so I look forward to catching up during the week.
I get up early to see to the cats and dog, so 9 AM is about as late as I can do. But on weekends, I’ll often go back to sleep after I walk the dog. I’m not good at sleep (insomniac my whole life), but I’m great at naps.
I slept 37 hrs straight once, so…
@simplersimon The max I made it was 23.5 hours. Spouse wouldn’t let me sleep any longer.
@simplersimon Yeesh, I slept 13 hours once and thought that was a long time.
Generally sleeping past 09:00 but it really depends on when I go to sleep.
Getting up after 3 PM.
Pup doesn’t let me sleep past 7, ssooooooo
@tinamarie1974 That’s why they invented piddle pads, lol. (This works much better with one small pup, than with more/larger puppers.)
@cbl_wv pup sleeps in a crate in my bedroom, so no piddle pads
Getting up after 11:00am. Or noon, depending on my level of insomnia the night before.
5 AM is sleeping in
6 AM means sleep drunk
There are many times I sleep until about 4:30pm on weekends. I sleep like junk through the week, so I like to tell myself it’s only fair
We are all up late answering a poll question. Of course we get up “late” (according to societal norms).
@hchavers During the week I get up around 04:00.
@narfcake I have definitely looked at my alarm like that before.
Nowadays, 1pm.
When I was younger, Tuesday.
the lack of night shift in this poll is dreadfully apparent
Noon
