@duodec Amen to that. I had to buy a replacement from a thrift store for the mixer bowl. The handle broke.Too many bad reviews about the mixer blade to use.
Lentil Walnut Paté, which tastes amazingly like real goose liver paté. I like this version, but jump right to the recipe if you don’t want to read through a description of her days working in a kitchen next to a guy butchering pigs. https://bojongourmet.com/lentil-walnut-pate/
I had a food processor for about a month and found that it took longer than just using a knife once cleaning time was factored in. Useful if you’re preparing a huge amount of food, but that’s not something that’s ever going to come up for me.
We have three.
One small one that gets used primarily to mix Memphis style BBQ rub and chop Costco three cheese Italian blend into shaker-size pieces.
The large one (a gift) comes out rarely for large projects like making morrow relish to can etc.
The last one (small retired kitchen one that has a blade that’s getting some fracture lines in the base) lives in the shop and gets used to grind up eggshells to use in the gardens.
I was just using mine last night to shred cheese. The top doesn’t lock into the base for easy cleaning and feel onto the floor and broke the clamp to close it right off. I’m hoping I still have time on my warranty left to fix it.
What is Quac?

@curtise Guac for quokkas.
@curtise Holy Quackamole
Processing food, mostly.
Pesto
/showme Quac
Collecting dust
Pub burgers using Alton Brown’s method. Our Cuisinart is an original made in Japan with all the accessories of the day, still going strong.
Pub burgers are reason enough for food processors to exist.

@duodec Don’t use the replacement blade.

To fill a spot in the cabinet.
@hchavers Like my new stand mixer, I recently purchased from MEH. During the holidays, it was buried under the X-Mas tree.
Space filler.
@ZeroCharisma Pantry or basement?
Cranberry-orange relish. Yep, that’s all.
@sammydog01 easily worth it
Toum. But I haven’t managed to get it right yet.
Grating Cotija cheese. That’s it. We save literally tens of minutes per year not grating this one type of cheese by hand.
@shawn_mitch magic bullet works equally as good for this purpose. I recently figured this out in an Airbnb that I stayed in that had one.
@shawn_mitch Grating parmesan and Romano cheese.
Shredding cheese
Pie crust and shredding cheese.
I already have one that I don’t use.
@2many2no
Me too!
I got one in my last irk, it finally helped me actually make pie crust for Thanksgiving. I’ve never been able to make it before that.
Savory: Chopping up veggies like carrots, zucchini, or cabbage to put in soups, sauces, etc. for extra nutrition boost.
Sweet: cookie dough dip. Starts with oatmeal ground into oat flour.

I don’t have one. With the way I cook my Blendtec purchase is the better counter space taker upper.

@chienfou We recycle the eggshells through the chickens. (And use the composted manure on the garden.)
@macromeh
So do I, but I don’t use the food processor for those. The extra calcium helps the tomatoes not get blossom end rot.
Cole Slaw, hummus, potato pancakes, sauces. We have a Ninja for the big stuff, an immersion blender for soups and sauces.

Chopping onions. I’m nothing if not lazy.
Disposing of nosy survey takers.
