I’d post pix, but my phone is in the other room, so you’ll have to take my word for it: I’m barefoot, as I frequently am when home, especially in the warmer months.
@UncleVinny it’s like it gets you so wound up to be a limerick, then it doesn’t pay off as a limerick. I read it three times trying to make it a limerick before I realized what I was doing.
Wait, you post a survey at midnight EST and you don’t offer a nothing option for my current footwear? Who wrote this question. They need to be summarily taken out back and have footware thrown in their general direction. Feel free to start with the most likely footware for this hour, nothing. Either way I am let down by the quality of the question and answers provided it’s almost as if you learned testing in the United States where pineapples wear shoes. Perhaps got to Deutschland wo die Bäume aus Holz sind. Mittelmäßig
@bleedmichigan i thought the same thing. and no socks or slippers. and no ‘dress shoe’ type options for those checking in the morning at the office, either. maybe they’re selling one of the other options next and want to know if anyone actually wears any of them. still flawed in the phrasing or timing, though.
i work from home most days and it’s warm now so i’m barefoot. even when i was housekeeping i cleaned in (clean) socks. but if i have to run an errand, chucks. if i’m going out to the bar, boots.

Nothing on my feet now, but when I need to remove some impropperly installed grout, I wear DIY nonslip footwear that can stand up to the harshest of cleaning supplies, or are cheap enough to throw away.
I’m bare foot, but I chose flip flops because I’m almost always wearing my FitFlops. Just bought a new pair, and my legs are sore all the time, in a good way.
I have these waterproof, floating sandals that I got from Speedo around ten years ago. I’ve had to make some minor repairs to the Velcro, but otherwise, they’re not showing any wear at all.
@Kidsandliz@therealjrn I don’t know about other states, but there is not a law on the books, in Iowa, that requires you to wear shoes, anywhere. One of my acquaintances hasn’t worn shoes in probably 20 years; he’s a big advocate for that type of thing.
@TheCO2 It snows in Iowa right? I remember as a kid trying to ice a sidewalk hill sliding down in bare feet and then running back inside to stand on the radiator to thaw them out. Rinse and repeat. No idea why mom never stopped us from doing that. Surprised we didn’t frostbite our feet (lived in the snowbelt).
@Kidsandliz That sounds like fun. I have done that with shoes, many times, but never barefoot. I will go outside, barefoot, if there isn’t more than about 1/2 inch of snow, where I am walking.
Slippers. I can’t believe you forgot slippers.
Nothing, it’s night and I’m indoors
@RdiPr it doesn’t need to be night and I don’t need to be indoors for this to always be my choice. I love being barefoot.
@RdiPr Ditto !
@RdiPr I’m also barefoot and indoors, although it’s daytime.
@RdiPr It’s almost afternoon where I live. But I’m still in bed. Footwear isn’t necessary here.
@jitc footwear is never necessary for meh
@RdiPr my feet have a lot of sole so I don’t need anything on them … Awww the agony of de-feet!!
Unless I’m at work, I’m wearing flip flops. Including winter.
Currently my feet are going commando.
Where’s the option for “nothin’ at all”?
I’d post pix, but my phone is in the other room, so you’ll have to take my word for it: I’m barefoot, as I frequently am when home, especially in the warmer months.
[Later that same day…]
Now I’m at work, wearing Rockports, so I was able to answer the poll.
My trusty stinky Redwings
/giphy bear foot
I don’t wear shoes in bed.
Socks. I haven’t worked up the energy to peel them off yet.
I am wearing socks. And I always wear socks to bed.
I’ve got bare feet on right now, 'cuz I’m at home. Duh.
Reminds me of a po’m I wrote when I was much younger:
Good thing I didn’t quit my day job for po’try, huh!
@UncleVinny it’s like it gets you so wound up to be a limerick, then it doesn’t pay off as a limerick. I read it three times trying to make it a limerick before I realized what I was doing.
Ideally I’d wear these:
@PlacidPenguin I’d wear these:
@heartny @PlacidPenguin Ollies had Peep slippers for 3 bucks. My daughter has a pair in each color.
@heartny @PlacidPenguin @sammydog01 seriously? what a good deal! What is Ollies?
@moonhat A discount store- their motto is Good Stuff Cheap
Am I going to be the first to actually post pics of my feet?
Ok this obviously isn’t right now, but it is what I’m wearing on my feet right now.
@katylava
Yes, because it would have seemed odd if I would have posted a pic of your feet.
@katylava @PlacidPenguin You have pictures of her feet?
@awk
No. Because having pictures of the feet of @katylava would be socially strange.
@katylava @PlacidPenguin You have one now, in your browser cache.
@katylava If you put that Flex-Seal stuff on the soles they won’t slip.
@katylava those are cute slippers. Where can I get the pattern? I could have a pair crocheted before winter.

@bleedmichigan Ja, stimmt!

Socks… not seeing a socks choice, I went with “A more structured sandal”, which could possibly be vague enough to include socks?
Very mediocre socks that some idiot bought online
Swim fins with argyle socks.
@droopus no picture?
Skate shoes. A good old pair of Vans.

@hamjudo Neoprene, neoprene! Built, Built, Built! Yaaay…
Skin.
@Kidsandliz and it’s a good thing, too
How do I know what I’ll have on my feet when you read this?
No.
Guess again.
Sandals that don’t match my dress
Steel toe combat-style work boots.
I have become partial to trail running shoes. Kind of like lightweight boots crossed with tennis shoes.
(You know, for navigating all that dynamic office terrain.)
I’m wearing my birthday shoes.
Skin.
so far it’s variations of nothing/barefoot FTW!
I went so far as to take a picture of my bare feet, then I looked at it and thought better of subjecting everyone to it.
@Seeds why, you have jacked up toes or something?
@RiotDemon I have monkey toes, but I was more just thinking feet look weird.
@Seeds I don’t think they look any weirder than hands. I don’t understand the stigma around feet.
@RiotDemon @Seeds What if you have weird looking hands?
@Seeds @therealjrn
@RiotDemon Boy! That looks…
…handy!
Moccasins. They are comfortable and simple.
@infornography You have SNAKES on your feet?
@infornography @lisaviolet Only when in the water I’d imagine
Socks.
Technically running shoes but since I probably wouldn’t be running even if a zombie was chasing me I answered casual shoes.
@sammydog01 that would of made a better poll:
Are running shoes still running shoes if you don’t run in them?
@RiotDemon @sammydog01 Is cereal still cereal if you call it soup?
I’m bare foot, but I chose flip flops because I’m almost always wearing my FitFlops. Just bought a new pair, and my legs are sore all the time, in a good way.
Where’s the dress shoes or work shoes option? Not everyone is on their day off exploring the outdoors.
I have these waterproof, floating sandals that I got from Speedo around ten years ago. I’ve had to make some minor repairs to the Velcro, but otherwise, they’re not showing any wear at all.
Dress shoes because work requires them
Does this count as shoes or bare feet?
@Kidsandliz That’s “Those 10-toe shoes” isn’t it?
@therealjrn Yeah those “barefoot shoes”. I wonder if you can get into a “no shirt, no shoes, no service” place with this…
@Kidsandliz @therealjrn I don’t know about other states, but there is not a law on the books, in Iowa, that requires you to wear shoes, anywhere. One of my acquaintances hasn’t worn shoes in probably 20 years; he’s a big advocate for that type of thing.

@TheCO2 beware of frostbite
@Kidsandliz I’m never out long enough to get frost bite. It’s usually just to take the dogs out.
I’m wearing those boots with the airflow soles!
Sneakers.
My feet are completely NAKED…oh yeah!!! Lol
They are much more comfortable than people think. I have about seven pairs of Vibrams Five Fingers shoes.
I’m not posting a photo but steel toe cowboy boots
