2x 360 Electrical Habitat Braided USB Extension Cords With 4.8A 4-Port USBs
@IndifferentDude It’s a cord. It extends a USB port connection 6 ft. from the power source. So it IS an extension cord, but only for USB charging cables.
@audiocontr yeah-- I don’t really need 1 of these so I certainly don’t need 2. The only compelling thing is the low profile plug. The sidedeal power strips are slightly more compelling. A 2 extension + 1 USB bundle for like $10 would be more compelling.
I was just looking at these on Side Deal and thinking I didn’t need four of those but 2 would be nice. I’ve got a couple of charging areas in my house for things other than phones that these will help clean up nicely.
@Fuzzalini Even for phones, the 5V 1.2A is pretty sad; I’ve got drawers full of 5v 2.1A chargers, some even have QC or PD. The only use for these I can think of is stuff like the kid’s Echo Glow and/or their dinosaur lights.
1.2A is pretty wimpy for most uses, but I just got a bunch of LED lights for illuminating decorative crystals, and they all plug in via USB-A, so this works perfectly for me.
@TexasDex I would be surprised if the circuitry inside these cables evenly divided the 4.8A across the four ports. I think it’s more likely (cheaper to make) that the four ports are wired in parallel and that any port can draw up to 4.8A with the total on all ports not exceeding 4.8A. Just an opinion from a ham radio guy (and EE major in college) who tinkers with all sorts of electronic stuff… Of course, if someone has the manual that says otherwise then I’m an idiot.

perfect use of my $10 ho ho ho coupon thanks dawgs
@tysontomko where was that coupon from?
@haydesigner The last round of IRKs, I assume
@tysontomko oh man, thank you! Totally forgot I had that already!
@tysontomko Thank you for your post tysontomko. I didn’t even realize there WAS an IRK coupon.
It makes sense, though. That last IRK was a complete disappointment. The best thing I got out of mine was a commitment to myself to stop buying them.
@Trinityscrew @tysontomko the irk cost was double anything remotely justifiable
@Trinityscrew @tysontomko Yeah mine really sucked. In that it didn’t at all. (it was a shite vacuum)
@Trinityscrew @tysontomko
What is an Irk coupon? Have not heard of
At least they’re not calling it a “hub.”
@j4yx0r haha. You mean like they did when they said them in early Nov.? I got them then (4 charging cables included) and I don’t regret it, FWIW.
@j4yx0r The packaging states “Premium Charging Hub”.
I almost bought something similar at Staples today, but it was way more money and didn’t extend nearly as far.
Only 1.2A output per port?
The Amazon link says USB-C, which is clearly not the case.
hmmm, im not sure how many 2010 USB devices i still have laying around. I’ll pass.

@caffeineguy I’m going to use them to charge my ear buds and cameras. Not using them for phones.
