I love winter in Houston. Best weather of the year often. If I had to pick one thing… not being able to use my pool without heating it. And heating it is too expensive!
I dread hot winters like last year where you get one, maybe two weeks of days you can comfortably wear a coat. Wouldn’t leave Texas for a colder environment… but I would like to have a winter.
If only Congress passed that “stop changing the time twice a year” law that the senate unanimously approved a few years ago! I dislike the way it gets dark so early. In far northern places where that would make the morning too dark… maybe those areas can shift schedules (instead of all the clocks) to accommodate.
@jester747 It is apparently healthier for everyone to stay on standard time year round and not savings time year round so there is that too if we finally get rid of the time change. If we do I hope the stupid government shows some sense with doing that taking into account medical evidence.
I have an issue: all the things on the list sound OK to me. Enjoy Winters! Road conditions would be the biggest “maybe.” Normally, if snowy, stay where you are. Snow Day! But I experienced the danger of ice on clear sunny days a few times. For some reason always in Wyoming.
Oh yeah and the big snowstorm in Nashville was it 2-3 years ago? So, yeah, road conditions.
I’ve given up trying to protect trees and other plants from the freezing weather when it comes. The freezes are fewer but much deeper now, and even some native species don’t survive.
I hate everything about winter. The cold, the snow, the wind, taking care of animals in the cold, frozen water tanks, and the fact that it isn’t summer.
/showme the bitter cold
Ice. I can deal with all the rest, but ice is my bane

@jester747 @Kidsandliz don’t get your hopes up… What has the government gotten right lately?

I don’t mind the snow, but the cold wind, dark, and idiots driving make it unfun
It’s everyone else whining about those things.
The fact that it’s not summer, so all of the above…except no snow around here
