What are you guys and gals listening to this weekend?
2Now that the correct time of the year is officially upon us (so I’m told) is there any music or shows out there that you’re into to get the Fall/Autumn vibes going?
Example: Personal playlist has shifted from Deathklok to Post Modern Jukebox because Pumpkin Spice Season just doesn’t need that energy.
No wrong answers.

Really just sassy puppy bark/talk back these days.
@tinamarie1974 good thing no whimpers.
Heilung, because the haunting sounds of rune chanting and tribal drums remind my neighbors that we can’t be friends and I’m not sharing my candy this year. .
@savageserene Ooooooh, good call! I’m totally hogging the candy this year too. Going whole-hog and getting full-size exclusively.
@GetClosure I dip into Postmodern Jukebox all year round. They have some tasty offering. I love when they have Morgan James doing vocals.
My lazy hours on the weekend I usually listen to a lot from SomaFM. They have a good variety of stuff.
Need to check my mail because the new RTJ album should be here.
@yakkoTDI NICE! Yeah, I find the majority of PMJ covers are far superior than the original songs. Justin Beiber, Chain Smokers and Pitbull songs actually hold up with a retro treatment!
@GetClosure They do improve a lot of songs. When I heard their version of ‘All About That Bass’ I realised it wasn’t a crap song. It was pretty good lyrics with crap music.
My Heart Will Go On is a great transformation.
And of course some Morgan James.
@GetClosure @yakkoTDI
And some Miche Braden. 3:00 in is epic!
@mike808 This is actually the only version of the song I have heard more than just a few seconds of.
@yakkoTDI count me among the number whose spectrum includes both PMJ and RTJ. Sweet that you’re getting the (I assume) vinyl. All my music comes in ones and series over the air now. As a fairly new listener who just came around within the past year or so I am enjoying RTJ4 a good bit. A lot of Killer Mike’s syllabic assaults get me amped up, he’s one of my favorite rappers to listen to lately.
I’ve also been tickled every time I hear Cadillac use “Nobody Speak” on their commercials. If the executives that signed off on that heard the verse start I’m not sure how they’d handle it.
@djslack RTJ is awesome. I am getting the vinyl for my turntables and the CD for the car. Killer Mike is great on vocals and El-P is great with the beats. I find it funny that I actually first noticed them way back on RTJ 2 when I was listening to triple j out of Australia.
Nobody Speak being used in commercials and movie trailers is funny when you know the lyrics. My only complaint is that it is out of place on DJ Shadow’s album. If the whole album was like The Outsider it would fit right in. It does have one of the greatest videos of all time though.
Musically I listen to a very wide variety of music. On Monday mornings, which is the busiest part of my work week, I always wonder if YouTube thinks there is more than one person listening to music on my computer.
OWLS! TOWELS! JOWLS! AWESOME!
@mediocrebot STFU!
Music does not change… Shows don’t really change either except that different content is available.
On YouTube people are showing more Halloween diys, so that’s changed slightly.
Some funky Franken-Rammstein
Any of the autumn lofi/coffeehouse themed playlists on Youtube. Lots of good themes for playlists for just hanging out.

@Targaryen
@GetClosure @Targaryen
@Targaryen I have found some great lofi mixes on YouTube.
I also like Lance’s Dark Mood Party Mixes.
Pomplamoose > PMJ
@ChadP I dunno about “>” but I like em too.
There’s an outdoor concert tomorrow that I’m planning to go to. I’ll have my mask on as I always do whenever I’m out in public.

@mossygreen Get with the 90s!
Skinny Puppy - Worlock
@mossygreen
Since it’s Trick or Treat time, …
Gimme Chocolate!
@mike808 NEVER. I will dip a tentative toe into the '80’s.
Soft Cell, Martin
@mossygreen
80s, you say. You’ll be …
@mossygreen I don’t love all their stuff, but man, every song they do is such a production.
My favorite remains “The One”, followed by “Karate”.
I remember a few years ago when they got “noticed” and the “metal community” on social media started to rip on them for not being “metal” and the likes of Rob Zombie and Rob Halford came to their defenses telling the haters to suck a bag of dicks.
I wish their band wasn’t so anonymous - some phenomenal musicians in the ranks, obvious “tracking” aside…
same stuff I usually listen to.
but just to share
and actually only one of those is on my playlist
will let you guess which one
Ok, I’m old.
Meatloaf’s Bat Out of Hell.
especially Paradise by the Dashboard Light
(Go Phil!)
@sgrazi That album came out when I was in high school, and I recall at the time I kind of hated it (lol, I think I had some weird “I hate Todd Rundgren” thing going on). But now I kind of love it.
i was introduced to this (cover) song this past weekend by two of my friends.
so… umm… yeah
I’ve been playing this on repeat all weekend. Not sure why.
My inner demons
It all depends on my mood on the weekend, generally speaking, the main artists that I listen to, in order of how often (highest to lowest) are:
Taylor Swift
Ariana Grande
Fall Out Boy
Avril Lavigne
Demi Lovato
Charli XCX
Iggy Azalea
Girls’ Day (a K Pop group)
Justin Bieber (only a few songs though)
Some other artists that I listen to less regularly (rarely) are :
Ellie Goulding
Becky G
Maroon 5
Selena Gomez
Eminem
Adam Labert’s discography. By the way, I found an interesting article about him https://news.amomama.com/188437-inside-adam-lamberts-relationship-his-13.html I guess I’m starting fangirling again
Currently listening to a lot of The Cramps, Nine Inch Nails, and Nick Cave.
Some stuff I’ve listened to the last few days.
Mordechai by Khruangbin
Blindsided by Mark Erelli
I Used To Be Sad & Then I Forgot by Mr. Alec Bowman
The incessant squeaking in my ears.
Time to post Amanda Lear’s Blood and Honey, but which performance? Soundtrack is exactly the same, as is s/m background, but in one she’s wearing a slinky black dress and in the other there are weird dancers onstage. Both. That’s the answer.
