What a crummy day :/
11Started off with a massive headache, and ended with my first accident ever. Thank heavens no one got hurt (except a little whiplash in my neck and shoulders)!
I only had liability insurance, and it’s looking like I’ll be a minimum of $2K worth of repairs on my old minivan (or just buy a new used one…). Plus a ticket. Plus a rental car. Right in time to figure out how to pick up my mother-in-law from the airport tomorrow who is coming from Japan.
There goes that yard we were saving up for once our house is built. Or those nicer appliances we were hoping for. Or the thought of getting solar panels installed. Or our Japan trip next year to show off the new little guy.
Last week an emergency c-section for my wife, and this week I’m in an accident. What’s up for next week?
I’ve never caused an accident before, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt this… upset? frustrated? dissappointed?
End rant.

Hope everything turns around.
Glad to hear you’re physically ok. But please, get everything checked out
Not uncommon for car injuries to show up a week later
Wife got t-boned by a texting lady running a red light.
Head aches started around Day 5.
Back and neck pain a bit later.
Then turned into severe vertigo
Seen maybe 15 doctors. No one has a clue.
@MehnofLaMehncha Whoa, definitely watching out for that. Luckily it wasn’t bad, and it’s not like my neck whipped around or anything. Sorry to hear about your wife!
It’s an awful feeling, so sorry you had to experience this.

@KDemo Thanks! That’s one of my favorite movies too!
I know this will hurt financially for a while. I really hope you don’t have injuries that stick around too long.
Broken dreams and plans always hurt. Hang in there.
It’s more Mother Fucker moment’s. Sorry they happened, but they do. Wish you all the best in dealing with all of them.

Total bummer. Sympathies.
The plus side? You’ve used up your bad luck for the year and got it out of the way in the first half.
Side note: this prevented the transmission on your van from going out on the way home from the airport.
@RedOak I think I’ve used up my bad luck for a couple years though, so I guess that’s good!
Or maybe it’s making up for all the good luck of the last year?
Please, please take yourself to a doctor today or tomorrow. No later. My T-3 is still permanently rotated from a 1978 rear-end collision. The good things that have happened ought to balance the bad things, so you must be due a large chunk of good luck. Oh wait- you have a brand new baby. That’s pretty great. Your wife has her mother to help take care of her, and of the baby. Newer vehicles are orders of magnitude safer than older ones, and nobody else was in your vehicle to get damaged. And when you go to court, maybe the officer who ticketed you won’t show up and it will get dismissed.
@OldCatLady Yes, will definitely head in soon - it’s just a stiff neck so far, so it’s not too bad.
Sorry to hear that @luvche21!
I got in an accident a few weeks ago, no fun. Glad to hear all involved are doing okay (whiplash aside). I hope the funds to cover it magically appear! Sometimes that happens.
@hollboll Yeah, I hope they appear magically too! A few already have, which is nice!
@hollboll So, some of the funds magically appeared (well, they’re meant as a gift for the baby…)!
sorry to hear about the crappy week @luvche21. 2016 can just go away now as far as i’m concerned.
@carl669 There’s still some good coming (at least for me) in 2016, so I’m ok if it stays for a bit, but wouldn’t mind if it jumped to August or September or something…
Sorry about your horrible, terrible, no good, very bad day @luvche21!
@dashcloud why are you sorry? It’s your fault!
@Kevin Yes it is, but I also don’t enjoy causing this particular brand of mayhem (plus the nod to a beloved children’s book was too good to not use).
@dashcloud Yes, the nod to Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day was worth it
Plus, I wouldn’t dare push the blame for something like that on anyone!
That’s a big ball of suck!

Thanks for the condolences and all! I made myself go see a chiropractor yesterday, and the whiplash stiffness is nearly gone already!
Plus, some of the funds to get it fixed magically appeared (in the form as gifts for having a baby…), so things are looking up!
@luvche21 Glad to hear it. You need to take care of you, as well as your family. The folks here are pretty good at this sympathy thing.
