We like to satellite watch at night
14We have no idea what they are (I have an app on my phone, but am too lazy to check it out).
We sit there with our green laser pointers, following the progress across the sky.
Well, last month we saw one after another after another… thirty-one in a row (the most we’d ever seen in one night was twenty-three and this was over a matter of hours). I checked it out when we came inside and it was a Starlink drop.
This past couple of weeks, we saw two more drops. One we counted forty-six, the other was fifty-one. It was pretty cool.
Anyway, here is the link to the info on them. It looks like this is a pretty common occurrence. They’re called “Starlink trains”. A friend over in England said they call the “string of pearls” over there.

A couple years ago (looks like May 5, 2021 from my video date) friends and I saw those in the backyard and there was a few minutes where we just had to contemplate UFOs (before googling and seeing others discuss them).
It’s pretty surreal since they basically look like stars except they’re all in a line moving at exactly the same speed.
Nice! Me too.
/image my God it’s full of cats
Definitely, it’s way too hot to stand around and watch them during the day!
