@RiotDemon@therealjrn My Meh BioBidet is heated. That can be wonderful or unsettling, depending on what you’re expecting. My wife sometimes likes it set to “bun toaster”, and that catches me by surprise.
As luck would have it, I just got off the toilet after a bout of constipation this afternoon and evening. I’m not drinking enough water probably…
Anyway, after a couple of bottles of magnesium citrate, some broth, and some big drinks of water things finally got moving!
Mine is just a fresh water bidet, but I’m here to tell you having that water to help get up in there and dislodge things really helped! I don’t usually run it on “full blast” like that, but it was a God send let me tell you.
Well, you have a plastic seat convert here. The warmth of the wood is great and nostalgic for me, but plastic is much easier to keep clean and sanitary.
I dunno. Form was good, but not sure it was hard enough to finish the job. Probably why the video clip ends at that point. (They most likely dropped the camera trying to get the hell out of that bathroom!)
@therealjrn the master bath which is still not finished and the upstairs bath have those light/fan/heat modules but they are old and loud. I’ve looked off and on for replacement but never saw that one. Actually looks decent
@therealjrn I think mine are ~20 years old when they built the house and were Broan. 2.0 sones is pretty good noise wise and while I don’t personally care about the heater is wired for it and a wife or buyer might.
They also wired a single circuit to the garaged gfci then to the down stairs half bath, then to the upstairs bath. So it’s so gfci protected and might have technically followed the NEC at the time but I’ll split those circuits when I can.
/giphy smart toilet
Haaaa giphy- you’re so stupid.
@sammydog01 what a nightmare!
@sammydog01 I hope that’s not the upstairs bathroom. Am I the only one craving Ovaltine?
@AdmiralDave @sammydog01 How about some nice Genuine Imitation Ovalkwik?
My daughter and my son-in-law came over this past weekend to help me move some stuff. She put bidets and new wooden seats on my toilets.
My gosh, what a cheap, but great upgrade.
@therealjrn after switching to a plastic seat, I’ll never buy wood again.
@RiotDemon How come? I like the warmth of the wood seat.
@therealjrn Splinters?
@therealjrn Doesn’t wood “absorb” things? I don’t want it sucking up anything in that area!
@therealjrn Kids. In particular, boys. So much easier to keep plastic looking nice.
@sammydog01 Splinters? You’re doing it wrong lol
@ELUNO No, they are sealed.
@therealjrn it’s Florida. I don’t really have to worry about a cold seat.
The lacquer/paint on wood seats gets damaged pretty easily, and it makes it hard/impossible to clean. Plastic is so much easier to deal with.
You can buy a bidet seat that has a heater if you want to get really fancy.

I think it scared my brother-in-law.
@blaineg @RiotDemon Thanks for writing in Blaine!

@pitamuffin @RiotDemon
I ended up with plastic seats by the way.
What you people told me about the wooden seats came true. Yuck.
@pitamuffin @therealjrn you set it to enema?
No one believes me about the plastic seats…
@pitamuffin @RiotDemon Uh, is that was that was? I didn’t care, I was in pain.

If you have cable or satellite, you can probably find a smart toilet easily. Both right- and left-hand models are widely available.
Want smart universe. Including toilet.
@daveinwarsh Nuke them from orbit just to make sure.
@daveinwarsh I think I’ll just hold it in until the next stop…
@daveinwarsh Good kick!

If it was truly smart, it wouldn’t be a toilet.
I do not see IQ tests for toilets… on the other hand for users… yeah…
Well, doing the bath remodel, I need to call in an electrician to wire my new $99.00 Broan-Nutone vent/heater/light
and move the junction box for the vanity light. I decided to go ahead and when he’s here get an electric outlet for a fancy bidet seat next to the terlet. Happily, Woot had the BioBidet Ultimate 770 Bidet Toilet Seat with Infinity Lid and Stainless Nozzle for $249.00 the other day.
That is $20 higher than the Costco price was a few months ago on sale, but much better than the $399.00 BioBidet wants for the seat.
My only concern at this point is the longevity of the seat functions. Some of the reviews mention that it fails fairly shortly into the product life.
I guess if it does fail, I’ll be all set for that $2000.00 Toto.
@therealjrn sounds super fancy!

@unksol It’s replacing one that is pretty old and the fan doesn’t work.
This one has a dimmable light too!
