Anyone else’s VMP disappear? Missed two deals already. Want the 4K monitor but not ponying up the extra $5 out of principle. Two support requests have been ignored. Hungover and whiny, sue me.
@beats1234 I looked into this and saw several failed payment attempts for VMP against your default payment setting earlier this month. All of them declined by our payment processor, Stripe, with code do_not_honor which Stripe describes as “the card has been declined for an unknown reason” and suggests “the customer needs to contact their bank for more information.” https://stripe.com/docs/declines/codes
I went ahead and added you back to VMP manually and the payment was successful.
Now the question is… which monitor are you going to get?
@shawn That’s an interesting list of Bank Decline Codes.
Wondering why they bounce back so much info - some of it seems to go a bit far, like card balance exceeded. That info, if passed to the fraudster, could enable them to back down the size of the attempted purchase.
Shawn, thanks for the assistance and thanks everyone for your concern. A bunch of my cards got replaced due to the Equifax hack and I’m still getting around to updating everything. I never received any notification regarding the VMP charge declines, but all is well now.
Missed out on the 4K monitor. Next round, I guess.
Well, cool. I’m one of those people that saves things in my Amazon cart until I have enough for free shipping, and then waits an extra week as Amazon punishes me for not paying for a prime membership. I guess shipping charges annoy me more than they should. If my VMP goes away I’ll probably stop buying stuff.
@Steve7654 I was a bit dubious about your being so annoyed by shipping charges until I glanced at your profile and your VMP since date.
You have indeed averaged about 2.5 orders for month, yielding a nice return on the VMP 5 bucks per month. Assuming of course that you found your purchases to be worthwhile.
I have been very upset bc my vmp membership got cancelled through no fault of my own. I moved out of state from FL to NV in 03/2017. Got a new bank in Nv in 05/2017 - kept old acct open for a few months more until my Ssa pymt & Opm pensions were direct deposited into New Bk acct in Nv. As soon as I opened NV bk acct I changed my Vmp billing from my FL bank debit card to another method if pymt. Something somewhere got screwed up & my VMP DID NOT get deducted for 2 months. I never received any notification from Meh.com.
I have been a member for quite a while!! Very upset. I contacted them & explained what happened. Told them they could charge me (deduct the past 2 months) plus the current month. That I did Not cancel my membership!!! They would Not fix the problem. I ordered a lot of things from them. Sometimes Daily! Sad ,upset!!
@therealjrn because it makes them more money to charge shipping on every purchase. Plus, they’re not doing any special surprises for vmp anymore, so it would be false advertising. Need to retool and rebrand.
Hi there @Greenbird325 - if you haven’t already, please write in to meh.com/support and we’ll look into this for you. It’ll take a few days, but we will get to you.
@thumperchick
@RiotDemon OP has been around a long time and placed a lot of orders, I hope CS helps him out.
Nope, mine is still there. Did you have a CC card expire or get ‘refused’ when they ran it? How did yours go away…?

@beats1234 But the moderator asked which monitor are you going to get which indicates that you can still get it if you would like.
@michaelgj2002 the question was asked when they were still for sale.
@Ignorant Thanks, I am fully aware of that.
@Ignorant I’m just curious what does the boxed K by you name mean?
@michaelgj2002
K - Kickstarter supporter.
@michaelgj2002 see above.
@michaelgj2002
Meh.com opened with a Kickstarter campaign before going live.
Those who found out about it, and participated in the Kickstarter, got a K badge by their Uid. For eternity or something.
Everyone else is jealous. Me included
/giphy jealously
@f00l Perfect giphy for you.
@f00l Wow. I am jealous too. That’s pretty cool. Are their incentives better than VMP?
@Ignorant Thanks.
@mflassy Thanks.
@michaelgj2002
Just for completion:
Octopus - Breakfast octopus.
Flask - Mediocre employee.
Goat - Scapegoat.
K - Kickstarter funder.
V - VMP.
First aid thing - Volunteer more.
@mflassy Proposed additions:
Broken Flask - Previous Mediocre employee
Can of Spam - Known spammer accounts
@mflassy @medz Cool. I had no idea about these!
@michaelgj2002 the 4K monitor was one of two that were sold out when I asked.
@beats1234 O ok.
@medz I’d spam just to get that badge!
@michaelgj2002
Re K Kickstarter participants:
I don’t know of any current incentives, except that they get to Lord It Over The Rest Of Us For All Eternity.
Which is enough for me to get envious about.
That’s part of the pleasure, in a way.
I mean, being envious forever.
Certain types of perpetual personal frustration are always funny to me, once I get kinda used to them.

@Barney
Supermodels Fear Me.
I’m not saying why, tho.

@f00l Fortunately, I don’t drink coffee. That WAS coffee, wasn’t it?
@Barney
Might have been.
Just this once I won’t try to set you off.
@f00l Wow, are you not feeling well?

@Greenbird325 @dave @shawn Would you delete this person’s name and cell phone number? @ThomasF @woodhouse @Thumperchick @somebody?
@Barney Good catch.
Edit: personally, I don’t understand why they dropped the VMP program for new people.
@therealjrn because it makes them more money to charge shipping on every purchase. Plus, they’re not doing any special surprises for vmp anymore, so it would be false advertising. Need to retool and rebrand.
@medz So the part I don’t get is why not just kill it off? What, no balls? Oh wait…do octopi have balls?
@therealjrn because we’d burn this mother down if we lost our benefits.
@medz
@Barney Sorry this took so long, but I got their info removed. Thanks for letting me know!
@woodhouse No problem. I’m sure no more than 30-40K people saw her name and number.

It’s probably not worth it, but I’ll refuse to commit to not committing to purchase something every month maybe.
