Video: 'Jesus' Spotted in Notre Dame Fire

By Tim Binnall
A Scottish woman believes that she spotted Jesus in the flames of the inferno that engulfed the Notre Dame cathedral on Monday. Lesley Rowan reportedly noticed an eerie anomaly reminiscent of a silhouette while looking at pictures of the heartbreaking blaze. As is the custom of the day, she promptly took to social media to see if anyone else could see the divine figure and several observers were amazed by the oddity.
What Rowan likely didn’t expect is that her ‘discovery’ seemingly captured the imagination of people beyond her circle of friends as the photo subsequently went viral and spawned headlines around the world. While skeptics will no doubt argue that the purported ‘sign from above’ is merely a trick of light and shadow captured in a split second, Rowan expressed hope that her strange find will “bring comfort to people in Paris and all over the world at this sad time.”

Like all tragedies, god is ignorant, apathetic, and/or impotent to do anything to prevent it. Or perhaps this was “God’s plan” because he feels we worship false idols like tall steeples, sculptures, and stained glass.
Or perhaps the concept of God is just the product of human imagination just like the perceived figure in the flames.
@medz Maybe God is upset with the Catholic church’s approach, or lack thereof, in dealing with their pedophile priests.
@Mothersnakes maybe, but it sure would have been nice if he stopped it before it happened to those innocent kids
@medz All part of the plan.
@Mothersnakes we need a new planner
@medz Or perhaps its because he gave us free will and interfering in any way negates it?
@cjester66 @medz FTFY
… because she gave us free will …
@cjester66 I give my child freedom to do stuff on her own, but you better believe I would do everything in my power to protect her.
The free will argument is especially flimsy when innocent children suffer. If a God knows about that stuff is happening and is cool with it, I don’t really think she deserves to be worshiped.
There may be some unexplained greater power out there, but I don’t think any of the earthly religions have got it right.
@medz - My Webster’s defines god as “One of the occupants of the gallery of a theater.” The question is, would a god burn down the gallery of a theater they themselves occupy?
@medz Preach it. The only difference between an atheist and a Christian is the atheist will be honest about not following Christ. Interestingly, I find my actions more in line with that fictional character than most outspoken devotees.
@medz If God steps in and “fixes” everything for us, there would be no free will, no learning from our actions and no being held accountable. Hitler? Who cares, god will smite him. Plagues, famines no problem. Disease? Ha, he’ll fix that too. Your daughter is a child but one day you will let her go to make her own decisions and to fix her own problems.
@mike808 Possible or possibly neither…Thanks for “fixing it” anyway.
@cjester66 I’m not staying god should prevent me from stubbing my toe. Maybe just prevent kids from being tortured.
@medz I understand, and I wish it was just that simple…
@cjester66 @medz
Yeah, and if you wind up before Him and bring that up He’ll be like, “Oh man, you’re right. I didn’t think of that…”
@cjester66 @Limewater god should really open a 2-way line of communication. That would really clear up a lot of things.
all this demonstrates to me is just how hardwired the human brain is to find familiar shapes/patterns…
@earlyre yup. Like faces, toads, and mice on Mars that are just rocks.
@earlyre @medz Anyone else see the little smoke goat staring off into the distance at the bottom right of that picture…?
