In the 1980s I had a Coleman™ inflatable air mattress. When deflating, the air coming out smelled like a car tire. The rubber was bonded to a heavy canvas fabric. It lasted at least a decade with no leaks.
These days air mattresses usually die in less than two years, and that is with infrequent use on carpeted floors rather than monthly camping trips in a tent.
“I’ve been waiting for air mattresses and this is close enough I guess. A family member just moved to another state for a job and me and others have wanted to visit him but he has no extra beds/matresses,etc so this will be perfect for a 1 to 2 night visit at his new apartment for me and other family members”
“Good idea, right?
I know you have plenty of sleep possibilities for guests in your home, but what about your (college) apartment? These will take very little storage space.”
Another possibility:
I do not know anything about deer hunting, but if laying-in-wait is involved then these should make good matts for comfort and insulation against the cold ground, like a “duck blind”.
INTERCHANGE WITH MY NIECE:
“You too can have one or more if you think you would like it for the beach or events like concerts and the like.
If using at the beach or outdoor events would a DOUBLE be better?
OR, maybe you are correct: Use a large blanket to keep both the PAD and all your stuff clean.
And if you have two singles you end up with about the same space as the double (a little more), plus the versatility.”

We had an inflatable mattress for camping but now I can’t use it without getting seasick. This is perfect. I was hoping to get one of these anyway and now my IRK is freeeeee

@hamjudo
And the pound and a half hardly qualifies as “ultra- light” when backpacking.
