@OldCatLady Sitting here with my first cup of coffee in the morning, and the landing page woke me up much faster than coffee ever would. If you weren’t responsible for this, then I must find out who is, because, DAMN. That man is armor-piercingly handsome.
There are only two men in the world my husband would be understanding and forgiving about me sleeping with (well, not exactly sleeping). This is one of them.
@infernohit It’s annoying because I come to the site every day. If I didn’t buy it the first time, why would I buy it the second time, or third time? The more duplicates they have, the less value I get for VMP membership.
@cengland0 I got one last year and slipped out last month. Then just this morning I wished I hadn’t, as the replacement cost would be with the like new performance. Bam. I’m the guy.
@cengland0 It was good the first time. I almost bought a second when it came up again. I’m not letting it pass this time. @snapster was thinking of me.
@Pantheist I have mixed feelings about if the prices should go up or down if offered again. I bought a Vornado from Meh for $28. Then they offered it again about 6 weeks later for $25. I was pissed because I felt ripped off. Yes, I know it was only $3 but it’s the principle of the thing.
But if the price goes up and someone knows it was cheaper previously, they may not sell as many the second time. At least the people that bought it the first time wouldn’t be angry. Suppose selling it for the same price each time may be the best policy.
@cengland0 seems silly. You thought it was worth the price you paid or you wouldn’t have bought it. Someone else paying less doesn’t change anything for you. The only effect it does have on you is that more might sell which would mean a smaller chance of seeing the same product again.
@cengland0 Just tell yourself you were paying a little extra for the privilege of getting to use it for a month and a half more than all those other people.
@DaveInSoCal That’s reasonable. The 3mm (and just the trimmer sans attachment) is part of my daily workday routine. It’s perfect for what I need on the beard and mustache. But I can appreciate that others have different needs. We can only hope meh is attentive to this thread. Hell, I’ll even admit that I bought two this time. That may have been excessive, but at $14 a pop and given that the functionality is perfect for my needs (yes, I have separate shaver and small trimmer, but neither would do what this does nearly as well and I kinda like keeping each more-or-less single- purpose device), buying two from meh makes more sense than buying one other thing elsewhere–or, really, than waiting to see if the attachments become available.
I got this the last time it was up. DO NOT overcharge the battery; that kills it. DO NOT run the battery down too low; that kills it. The battery, apparently, is terrible. Also, the attachments / clips that come with this are really short. A “9” on this is a third of the length of the “9” on my old Norelco.
@finalremix And how do you prevent from over charging? Do you have to remove it manually from the charger after a certain period of time? That wouldn’t be very convenient if that’s true.
If it’s using NiMh or Nickel Cadmium batteries, they can handle a constant trickle charge much better than Lithium batteries. But both NiMh and Nickel Cadmium batteries can create memories if you don’t discharge them all the way before recharging them. NiMh isn’t as bad but can still be susceptible.
I bought one of these the first time (long before the next most recent). It’s excellent, but one of the attachments (the one I actually use) broke and they’re not only nearly as expensive to replace as the trimmer itself, they’re unavailable.
I just bought another but I’d exchange someone for their 3mm (don’t use the other lengths and don’t imagine I ever will). Seriously. And thank you for your support.
My trimmer I bought last time does not like to run if I have a guard on it. As soon as the plastic “clip” portion snaps on, it seems to pinch something, keeping the blades from moving. As soon as I pull the clip up, it runs again. I’ve made do by pushing it partially on where it is just resistance on the metal side and not locked all the way on, but this makes me a bit nervous about it falling off while in use. The second one I ordered for a friend is working fine from what I’ve been told.
Got this in the May 8th sale. The Wahl and Philips (Norelco, I guess?) trimmers I’ve had in the past are basically equivalent, tho the Wahl’s longest adjustable attachment goes longer than what this can do.
While I’ve really only used it once on my whole face so far, I was v happy with it. I’ve used it a couple of times for touching up the edges of my beard. It has a nice feel and thus far is still running very nicely on the initial charge it had.
Bought it last time to keep beard and moustache neat. Be careful around the more sensitive areas of your face, though. I gave myself a pretty nasty burn on my lower neck area. This thing cuts way closer than my old reliable Wahl ever did.
Oh, I was fuming there for a second, because I thought this was a new version of the one I bought. Glad I double checked, as I was blunt, man.
Anyway, I posted a follow-up to this when I got my unit. It’s sorta funny. It’s probably the last post in that thread. Well, seek it out. I liked it, but confess to my idiocy in the thread.
Buy at least one of them. (did I pay more last time?)It musta been about Mother’s day? It was like on my birthday.
Actually, now that you reminded me, and it’s 1:30 am Saturday morning, I might foolishly cut my hair!
Did someone post that weird barbers wrap for this yet?
Yeah, too much typing tonight, sorry. And it’s prolly best I don’t cut my hair with this tonight. Clue: I’d title it “my first trimmer.”
@eeterrific What better insurrection and vengeance could one hope for than to use the product against its recommendation? You’re new to this, aren’t you?
I bought it last time, works well but the attachment levels are way off. 3 is nothing short of a buzzcut. So be weary Magnum PI enthusiets… Your stache could be stubble in seconds if you donut take care.
I have 3 of these from Meh’s last sale. The trimmer WILL NOT WORK with the trimmer guards attached on any of them. Without the guards they work fine. The guards block the blades from moving at all. @woodyzim has a workaround you can read about if you’re so inclined. I went to Walmart and bought a Norelco instead.
@Zimzerveran I haven’t had this problem. I assume that at least some (probably many) others haven’t. Have you considered contacting customer service? You’re well within warranty. They’ve always been good to me.
All the positive feed back has convinced me to purchase one of these .I almost bought one the last 2 times it was for sale, but did not get it . I will not let this pass the 3rd time .Thanks to all for your great reviews !!!
So far, I’ve bought 3 different trimmers from meh, and they’ve all gone straight into the garbage after the first attempt at using them. Sounds like this one is a mixed bag of “complete garbage” and “completely happy” … so I think I’m going to also have to pass. Sick of blowing money on them.
I bought one for my husband over a year ago on here. He loves it and our 3 boys and visitors have wanted to steal it. It works so good that i actually paid almost 3x as much on amazon for my one son he loved it so much. When they came up for sale in May i bought 3 more for my other 2 sons and a backup for my husband. I am tempted to buy 3 more this time for gifts. Any one of our sons, nephews or friends that visit loves it and asks where we got ours. You wont be sorry, they are fantastic for the price!!
@keters2001 ewwww. These were sent to us as “new” and that’s how we’re selling them. Write in to meh.com/support and we’ll get you sorted with a new one.
If anyone is having trouble with their Trym II and meh is unable to help I was able to track down the support page for Pure Enrichment, the company that makes Trym: http://pureenrichment.com/contact-us/
My 1.8mm guard is broken and I just messaged them for a replacement. I’ll let you know when I hear back from them.
@joelmw you might want to reach out about a replacement 3mm guard.
18 plus months and still going strong, but I have broken 2 of the guards I use the most. One the clip broke off of, the other a couple of the teeth broke off. Tried to contact the company (listed above) but no luck so far. Not sure that they still support this product. Looks like I might have to spring for a new one from WM for $5 more than the meh price… sigh

@OldCatLady Are you sure? Cause I felt like they channeled you a bit.
@OldCatLady Ooooh! I never realized Tom Selleck was a vampire - all sparkly!

@darkzrobe The writer(s) channeled her a LOT!
This was for sale on May 8th. That’s less than a month ago!
@infernohit It’s annoying because I come to the site every day. If I didn’t buy it the first time, why would I buy it the second time, or third time? The more duplicates they have, the less value I get for VMP membership.
@infernohit Got one then; haven’t unboxed it; keep it for a spare.
@cengland0 I got one last year and slipped out last month. Then just this morning I wished I hadn’t, as the replacement cost would be with the like new performance. Bam. I’m the guy.
This is the third time this has been offered. At least it’s the same $14 as the other two times.
@cengland0 Better if it was cheaper
@cengland0 It was good the first time. I almost bought a second when it came up again. I’m not letting it pass this time. @snapster was thinking of me.

@snapster Awwww.

Great trimmer! I bought one the last time and just cut my hair with it again today. Works great!
Only one complaint: The 1.8mm guard is loose. Hey meh, if you have any spare 1.8mm guards hanging around feel free to send one my way!
If you need a trimmer, buy this.
@DaveInSoCal Just posted. I’ll trade you a 1.8 for a 3mm.
@DaveInSoCal And I agree; it is a great trimmer.
@joelmw I wish I could. Still need the 3. If meh is splitting a return they can send you the 3 and me the 1.8!
@DaveInSoCal That’s reasonable. The 3mm (and just the trimmer sans attachment) is part of my daily workday routine. It’s perfect for what I need on the beard and mustache. This thing doesn’t make the cut in my opinion.

Erin Grey FTW.
@payote Digger Doyle!
@payote Flashback to Buck Rogers. I could not decide who I liked more, Wilma or Princes Ardala. I was nine years old and apparently a little perv.

Works great especially for the price.
No need for a trimmer, but thanks for the TS pics!

Meh is the best! Flat rate pricing on Trym. And the best part is it won’t get mad and burn your stuff if you have a fling with a Wahl.
I bought it last time. It works great for me. I know it was designed for guys but works for girls too.
