Trying to identify an SNL or other comedy sketch ...

My Googling has proven itself inefficient. Can you help?

My memory is sketchy, but from what I remember, this SNL sketch involved a number of guys or guys and girls sitting or standing around, exchanging stories and conversations in camaraderie, possibly while one of them plays the guitar. The stories would get increasingly disturbing, but they all acted as if the stories were perfectly normal, and they’d always interlude between stories with the chorus of whatever song the guy was playing on the guitar. As in, everyone would sing that chorus together. Maybe like a “lie-dee-die, lie-dee-die-dee-die-dee-die” or a drinking song or a common folk song, or something similar.

There was always a semi-shocking, unexpected punchline right before the chorus kicked in, but nobody acknowledged they were shocking. Example (this is not an example from the sketch, but it illustrates the type of joke): “I haven’t seen your sister in a while, what’s she been up to?” “Oh, she’s good. She’s been working long, hard hours and sometimes has problems with her boss, though.” “Yeah, well we all know how that feels.” “Yeah, a prostitute’s life is pretty tough!” “True that.” LIE DEE DIE, LIE DEE DIE DEE DIE DEE DIE

Anything? Anybody?
