TrackRs for sale
2I can’t imagine how many of these IRK TrackRs are left. What if Meh were to offer bundles with cases of TrackRs with an Iphone 11 case and a laptop cover for $5. Then they applied that purchase to the cost of IRKs. ie $5 per purchase up to $40 for todays deal. The only requirement is TrackRs, cases, and covers are no longer allowed in an IRK? That would give us TWICE the regret and help them clear up some space in the warehouse for new crap. Just a thought

Send new, but basically useless crap, to people you don’t like anonymously. Then laugh at the thought of them scratching their heads wondering WTF did I just get?

@k4evryng @narfcake I did something similar when I cleaned out my classroom years ago. Some stuff I didn’t need but didn’t want to store or throw away so I would send it to random people in my school district. Just wanted to bring joy into their lives.

I feel like it would be funny because on one hand, it’s not overtly insulting (because maaaaaayyyyybe it could be used)…but on the other hand, you KNOW they’d realize that they were basically the recipient of junk and wonder who TF sent it.
They just couldn’t get righteously mad about it because then they’d look like an a$$ for complaining that someone thought of them.
(Much like those complaining about the old irks that were $5-10 even when they knew what they were signing up for. Meh just chuckled…

It’s been many years since I’ve been in a classroom, but I still buy (and hoard) stationery/teacher stuff thinking about my teacher friends that I can give it to!
They appreciate it sooo much since their budget for classroom materials continues to get smaller and smaller, and they have to pay out of their own pocket.

@k4evryng @sunnysideup22 When my mom retired from teaching kindergarten except for books she kept for grandchildren and a few other things she gave the new, incoming kindergarten teacher everything she had collected over the years. Well and I think a first grade teacher friend took a small amount of it.

OBTW, the iPhone cases are for 6/7/8, nothing as new as an 11.
They probably ought to be sold embedded in candy corn.

@kdemo There is one for android phones but I can’t remember the name of it since I don’t have an android phone.

Depends on number of trackers. I use them for game pieces at school.
@sunnysideup22 If you want somewhere between 60 and 90 of them they are yours for postage. Multiple colors.
I have a 30 count box of them on ebay for 25 bucks, even those fools know garbage when they see it.

They can’t sell the TrackRs. They can throw them in an IRK because they aren’t selling them. But they can’t sell the TrackRs because they’d then be forced to deal with returns, chargebacks, etc, because some portion of buyers would assume they are buying a working product.
Even without the state of the app, at least 80% of them simply will not power up, even with a fresh battery. I got three boxes of the things, and on a lark I tried connecting them to a bench power supply. Three of them actually started up and made happy noises and broadcast on bluetooth. The rest, well, most did absolutely nothing, with a few just making sad death noises for a little while before going silent.
I can’t be mad because they came in an IRK, but I’d be livid if I bought a box of them, even labeled ‘As-Is’. As it is, I’m not buying another IRK until I’m completely convinced by IRK report threads that they no longer have a pile of them in the warehouse.
At least now I have 36 dots of 3M double-sided sticky tape?
