@PlacidPenguin Ahh. I can see it in the iOS app, but not browser. Haven’t tried on Android yet; don’t have the app installed. But I’m guessing I’ll see it there in the app as well.
On Android I was led by the Amazon app to install the Amazon appstore, then some Amazon Underground app that never appeared in the My Apps section. I lost interest by then and gave up.
@PlacidPenguin well they should update their own stuff then. It was the first screen their appstore took me to.
Also, I’m more patient than at least 80% of people I’ve run across. If I gave up then a lot of other people did, too. That’s a lot of hoops to jump through for a shopping app.
@PlacidPenguin I noticed a lot of apps I previously downloaded from the Amazon appstore now say “Not from Amazon”, even though they were. I also have not gotten an update from any of the Amazon apps in a very long time. I sent an note to support about that and got an email back saying I had to call for further information. I guess it’s part of the phase out?
@PlacidPenguin oh I wouldn’t either except that the regular Amazon app directed me there to get the mythical “better” Amazon app, then failed to provide. I’ve uninstalled it already.
And that was only to confirm for this thread whether the video stream came up on the deals page–a goal that I decided a while back I didn’t even care enough to complete.
For some of those apps, the devs were generous enough to give me promo codes for the Play Store even though I never paid money originally.
From what I recall, even though many app updates in the Play Store are slow rollouts (unless one sideloads the update or is part of the beta program for an app (if they have one), they are still faster than the Amazon app store because many devs neglect their apps there.
I’m assuming you downloaded the regular Amazon app directly from Amazon, because Google does not allow apps in the Play Store to act as app stores or offer links to other apps which do so.
Third party apps I downloaded from the appstore. I got a bunch back in the glory days when they had the Free App of the Day.
This. I was trying to download the full version of Weather Live to my new phone. I got this as a App of the Day a couple years ago, but it doesn’t exist in the Amz Appstore anymore, and it’s been scrubbed from my digital content in Amz. It’s available in Play Store, but $2.50 there I’d rather not spend for an app I thought I already had a license for.
@ruouttaurmind Yep, that’s my dilemma too. By the way, I switched my weather app to Sense V2 flip clock in the Play Store and liked it so much I actually paid for it. I had been using BE Weather (former Blackberry app), but the dev was no longer supporting it so it lost functionality.
Only available on my desktop. iPad, iPhone and Android phone don’t see the video frame.
@ruouttaurmind
@ruouttaurmind Oh she is cute.

@ruouttaurmind
I’m using Chrome in desktop mode.

@djslack
Amazon announced last year that Underground was being (gradually) shut down.
@djslack @PlacidPenguin As part of the 0% who uses a WP … what are apps?
@narfcake
The things you have on your Moto E (2015).
(Also, are you done editing your comment? I’ve seen 3 versions of it so far.)
@PlacidPenguin
/8ball Am I?
Outlook good

@heartny
When you say Amazon apps, do you mean Amazons own apps, or 3rd party apps?
@djslack
I personally don’t use their app store anymore anyways.
@PlacidPenguin oh I wouldn’t either except that the regular Amazon app directed me there to get the mythical “better” Amazon app, then failed to provide. I’ve uninstalled it already.

I guess it’s truly been a Meh experience.

@PlacidPenguin I think it came preinstalled on my S7. I know I wouldn’t have made Amazon its own folder in my app drawer for two stupid apps.
@djslack
Ok. So that explains it.

@narfcake Microsoft announced that Skype for Business is no longer going to be updated or available for download on Windows Phone after May 20th.
So, I’m on a laptop and at this moment, there is no video running on the deals page.
