Are we really talking about the worst ‘hit’ songs? There’s LOTS of poor music out there, but most is pretty obscure because nobody ever plays it.
I think the worst song I ever heard was William Shatner doing “Rocket Man”. However, it might have been a self-parody, SNL skit - in which case it would be quite funny
@The_Baron THIS. Every time I try to think up “worst songs” this song comes to mind. It’s irritatingly nonsense and I hate that it’s so catchy because it’s such nonsense!
New Kids On The block,had a bunch of hits
Chinese food makes me sick.
Bugaloo shrimp and pogo sticks.
HOW DOES THAT NOT INFURIATE YOU? It’s catchy nonsense!
@Moose combine that with:
and bam! purple!
@carl669
I don’t know when @Moose’s song is from, but yours is from 1967, so it doesn’t count.
@FroodyFrog that was the Neil Diamond version.
@carl669
Fine. 1983 then. (When Labour of Love came out.)
Still not the 90s
@carl669 Aww, I love purple.
@FroodyFrog It doesn’t matter. I can no longer tell the 80’s from the 90’s. They’re all bad songs (purpleness excepted).
@Moose I wish we could give out question marks.
I’d like to also blame this song for every terrible song his daughter has performed.
@capguncowboy He should’ve been snipped a long time ago. Hey, wait – Whaddaya think I’m talking about? His HAIR!

@compunaut Have you heard William Hung sing Rocket Man? I thought that was the worst cover.
Who Let the Dogs Out
Is anything from Deep Purple acceptable?

This is an actual song that hit the pop charts and went pretty high at one point:
#Selfie by the Chainsmokers
