The Unmehficial Mehrican Exchange Ver. 7.0 Reveal Thread
18@PlacidPenguin hinted that I should start this thread because I have already recieved my box. I will start it, but I won’t look inside my box yet until I know anything living has had time to perish.
I am utterly fearful of this box. It came too quickly. It looks too innocent. It is from @PlacidPenguin.
I am truly concerned, and adamant that I want to live another day.
For this reason alone, someone else can go first.

@ELUNO Oh my! Thank you. I wouldn’t have caught it in time.
@ELUNO @mfladd
Self-placed gifs and images alternate between working and not.
At first the gif didn’t work, but when I refreshed, it did.
@ELUNO @PlacidPenguin The hard part is they always work on the posters end, so you never know. And I am not in the habit of looking at the http.

@PlacidPenguin You did. I can’t remember what, but I already pulled them out. I didn’t trust anything to go unchecked. Thank you
@mfladd See and nothing exploded. You are way to suspicious.
@Kidsandliz @mfladd
Something must have gotten messed up during the rewiring of the monkey…
@mfladd @PlacidPenguin

@mfladd @PlacidPenguin well I guess watermelon will do since for the number of times I hit edit nothing close came up.
@Kidsandliz @mfladd
@mfladd, @PlacidPenguin was on their game, mine showed up today as well! Glad you started the thread so I didn’t have to… guess I’ll break the ice then!
My first box arrived this afternoon, taking an approximately 220 mile journey from New York to Maryland! Weighing in at 6 lbs 3.8 oz, this is a hefty one!
Sorting into vague categories… first, we’ve go mobile accessories!
I’m almost taken aback by all the different styles of cases we’ve got! I’m guessing an iPad, two iPhone 6S, an iPhone 7+ and a Galaxy Mega case, PLUS a screen protector and an anti-slip pad!
Next up, paper… things!!!
A pair of Maker’s Mark… stickers, to wrap around bottles when giving as gifts! And a letter, reminding me of the bold traditions of bourbon! Also, some Avengers stickers, a 3 month trial to Youtube Red, a Simpson’s Guide, a device to make paper beads, and oh right, WRONG TURN 2: DEAD END!!! Now I’ve just gotta find Wrong Turn, the first! With a staggering 78% on Rotten Tomatoes and a simply tiny budget of $4 million, Wrong Turn 2: Dead End bested it’s prequel’s Tomato score by a a solid THIRTY-SEVEN POINTS! Maybe I won’t even bother tracking down the first, this is clearly the superior film! Given that none of the other movies in the series made it above 20%, I can’t complain!
What’s next… oh right, THING’S THAT HOLD STUFF!
We’ve got two lovely items here, a partially cuboid tin, and, oh snap, a 2PAC IMAGE IN BOTTOM OF GLASS SHOT GLASS! Nothing honors the man more than having his image at the bottom of my drinks. You know you are jealous, and I won’t be able to help but poor one out for my main man.
But what’s a box without a few electronics??
That’s right, a PHONE CORD!!! Actually super useful, I’ve been meaning to extend my phone at work, and don’t feel like getting out the crimper to make my own, so great! And oh yeah, a 10’ HDMI cable. No more taping my laptop to the back of my TV because all I’ve got is six inches, oh no, this baby will reach all the way to my coffee table! And what’s that? A battery pack with a USB powered fan?! This is gonna be great for those long, hot camping weekends… the only question I have to answer now is: do I charge my phone, or cool my face? And the crown jewel: a dash cam! This is particularly awesome, given that my current dash cam’s battery is severely bulging and no longer will hold a charge. How’d you know?!
You’re probably bored of reading this right now, but WHO CARES, I’M STILL BLATHERING!!!
We’ll call this “misc…” maybe “food related?” Sure, let’s see if I can thread that together. First, we have a painted egg looking thing! I’ll probably put this out with my backyard chickens, see if it’ll persuade them to lay more! Or less… I’ve got so many eggs, and there are only two of us in the house, help me!!! Chop sticks, obviously, for when I need to eat all the egg fried rice I can handle… wife hates fried rice for whatever reason… And where does food go? The toilet! And from now on it looks like I’ll be buying CHARMIN GIANT TOILET PAPER ROLLS, now that I’ve got the necessary adapters to make them fit on my paltry, pathetically normal sized holders. And last but not least, a Woot flying monkey… Somehow I’ve never actually received one of these, even after my daily trolling of the site from 2010-2015ish
HAH. YOU THOUGHT “LAST BUT NOT LEAST” MEANT I WAS DONE!!! NOT SO!
Finally, the Wearables! Two lovely ear tuft bows (let’s be honest, they probably go with the bourbon stickers, but YOU CAN’T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!), a “bandit” mustache disguise, which I feel helps to truly hide my appearance from the fuzz, a not-pictured chain necklace that was hiding under the scarf, and a delightful pink nautical themed scarf wrap thing. Now, the packaging states “Women,” but come on, it’s 2018, why do we need to assign genders to inanimate objects!
@PlacidPenguin, you truly outdid yourself on this box. You are to be commended, and now I just need to buy a bunch of phones for all these cases! I mean, uh, no, why would you send me a box of complete trash, gah, this is awful, I’ll never be able to find a use for ANY of this, woe is me!
Thanks
@smigit2002 I have major nautical scarf jealousy…
ALLLLMOST FORGOT.
Cat tax. Ash wanted to check out the action
So did Gary
@smigit2002 Nice box! I wasn’t going to look yet and post, but @RiotDemon guilted me into it.
@mfladd @RiotDemon Curses to the whisper fuction… that exchange would likely have been entertaining to see…
@Kidsandliz you mean where I called @mfladd a wuss? That was public.
@smigit2002 why couldn’t @mfladd have posted this:
I could run with the joke, but don’t know you well enough
@smigit2002 I had no idea you were getting more than one box or that I was in with @PlacidPenguin! Boy are you going to be disappointed tomorrow!!
@smigit2002 And wow have you set the bar way high for reveal posts!
@mfladd @mikibell Run for as long and hard as you would like!
@readnj hah, if nothing else, I can look forward to disappointment! wheeee! Unfortunately I’m working tomorrow most of the day, so it’ll probably be a pretty late posting, but never you worry, I will post SOMETHING… sometime.
@smigit2002
Sorry that you enjoyed the box.
It should have been more disappointing.
Thanks, @MagnaVis, Such a cool box!
Items received:
Mockingjay book
Reflections on the Psalms book
15 puzzle set
So much Starwars metal kits
Salt and pepper shaker (robot edition)
Spawn COMICS!!!
So many army patches
Remington Knife
Candle??
(more) Cowbell
glue set
Command1 hanger
Clothes clips
Magic Eraser
…Drug Test…
Quicksilver sticker
Some random cable!!
@deeme I’m really glad you liked it!
The “Candle??” is actually just scented wax, I guess it’s a thing women like to do these days. If you warm it up, it melts and smells amazing. It usually goes in something like this: https://www.amazon.com/ONE-DAY-SALE-Oil-Diffuser/dp/B00TQR51PW/ref=br_lf_m_t8aw77yjbb3678p_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&s=home-garden but you may be able to figure something out.
The cable is a spare SATA cable I had, because you never know when you might need one. I wanted to include a long HDMI cable that I know I have but couldn’t find it, so I ended up grabbing this instead. Sorry, it’s probably useless compared to an HDMI cable…
The drug testing kit is because I assume you smoke weed because you’re black… KIDDING! I got those when my brother-in-law was living with us and trying to get clean. They were cheap in bulk, and he ended up not liking the arrangement and moving back to MN to continue his old lifestyle. It’s just a weird thing to have around that I thought you might appreciate. My wife and I both tested ourselves after getting them, just for fun. It’s not often someone sends a dude something they should pee on.
I bought the cowbell in Iraq during the height of the cowbell SNL Craze. It was much smaller than I expected it to be, but it has served me well, and I’m glad you got the reference. Honestly, nothing could make me happier.
Those Star Wars metal kits are actually from a dollar store around here, and I expected them to be trash. I made a few and was so impressed that I immediately went back and got the rest they had on the shelf for occasions such as this. They are a great random item, in my opinion, because even if your person (you, in this case) isn’t into Star Wars, they almost certainly know someone who is, and I’ve never seen these kits anywhere else, so it’s a great regifting item.
The knife I got from Meh, and it’s actually a very Meh item. It’s assisted open, but the screw that tensions the mechanism and holds the knife together at the base of the blade is way too tight to allow for it to actually assist. I had to disassemble mine and give it a healthy dose of graphite for it to work as expected. I also left the screw much looser than Remmington did, and I have to check it more frequently than I’d like to ensure it’s not backing out on it’s own. I strongly recommend regifting it unless you like constant frustration/think yours can’t possibly be that bad.
I wanted to include a note in the box with all this information, but I knew if I waited to write one it would be a week before you got your box, and I didn’t want to do that to you. All in all, I’m really glad you liked the random stuff, and was glad to be part of the fun this time around!
@MagnaVis totally jealous of your metal kit find! I buy the same exact kits from China for $4-7!
@RiotDemon Wow, yeah, that’s a lot to spend on them. I can say that I’ve not seem them there since I cleaned them out, which I’m pretty disappointed about. Glad to see someone else who has at least seen and appreciated these though!
@MagnaVis the price to me is ok seeing as I get the enjoyment of building it and the enjoyment of seeing it on the shelf.
I would of cleaned them out if I’d of seen them for a buck.
Back for seconds, y’all!
Brought to you by @readnj, and delivered by the ever surprising United States Postal Service, we have:
A box!
But not just ANY BOX. No, this box has, you know, THINGS in it! 3 pounds 6.6 ounces of things!!!
Things such as… ELECTRONICS!
Let’s see, we’ve got wondrous items such as a knock off fitbit activity tracker band, a very, very tiny quadcopter, a USB charging outlet goober and a 10’ extension cord for my car accessories. The charger actually looks super cool, maybe my wife will actually charge her phone for once rather than complain that it’s almost dead if she has somewhere convenient to set it, AND she doesn’t have to remember a cable… I’m still trying to think of a use for the extension cord, though. Granted, it’s brought to me by the venerable RadioShack brand. Such a strong brand, it’s survived for tens of years, and I’m sure will continue until “radio” is a thing of the past… right? It’ll never go away, will it? They’ve got such fine financial standings… right? Wrong? Oh no, what are you saying, RadioShack liquidated a large number of it’s stores and sold the remainder to Sprint?! Sweet lord, have mercy, where will I get my Accessory-Outlet DC Extension Cords now?! What if I need to go 20’ instead of the 10’ I have? NOOOOOOOO, SAY IT AIN’T SO.
We’ll call this category “useful doobers.” Left to right, we have a “sock saver,” an emergency whistle, hand wipes and a (possibly used?) collapsible meal kit container (doober). I look forward to the challenge offered by the sock saver: Never lose loose socks again! And my what a challenge it will be! Now I just need to decide what socks I own that are worth the gentle and kind caress of this marvelous invention…
And lastly, we’ve got misc things. A magnetic photo canister, and a little black book, “for telephone numbers and addresses.” I presume I am intended to place a photo inside this canister and then stick it to something, rather than place my magnetic photos WITHIN the canister. THAT would be quite annoying, as I do not currently HAVE any magnetic photos, so I would have to order some first so as to use this lovely gift to it’s full potential. Regarding the little black book, I always wondered… what happens when you run out of space within a particular letter. Do you skip to the next available spot? If so, how do you keep track of this? Do you just reserve the first/last few pages as an index of people? You know, the nice thing about little black books is that there was no cloud sync to create hundreds of duplicates. No, if you had a duplicate, that’s because SOMEONE didn’t know how to keep an index. Don’t blame the tool if the user is incompetent!
And of course, a Fuku drawstring bag was included.
Thanks so much! We should be getting a foster puppy tomorrow, I’m curious what she will think of the mini drone… maybe I won’t torment her JUST yet…
@smigit2002 those sock savers seem dorky but are awesome. No need to fold socks as they go thru laundry together
@smigit2002 Glad you received it and it wasn’t as bad as I thought. That Thing Charger is really cool. It was from a failed Kickstarter company that is now relaunching as Magfast. It has lightning and Android micro plugs stored in the back . If you need a USB C thingy you can get it from Amazon. I did on one I still have. Also it has two standard USB jacks on the bottom. As far as the meal thing, I don’t think that was used just sat around for a while. Love your detailed descriptions too. Good luck with the puppy!
Got my box from @zachdecker today. I’ll open it later, but I HAD to share this drawing:
This afternoon, I received a box from @zachdecker, which was shipped via Priority Meh.
I came back home to discover one of my penguins guarding the box (and its contents).
As posted above, Irk can be a penguin. YAY!!!
Now for the contents.
While going through the box, I found glasses, which I had to try one. My penguin did as well.
First, I don’t know what these things are:
The first thing says ‘bottle cover’ on the sticker, and the second thing is long, hard, and pointy.
Everything else:
• Adjustable measuring spoon.
• Drawing pad.
• Bottle opener.
• Can koozie.
• Micro SD to USB A adapter.
• Gripper for jar lids.
• Metallic tattoos (either from Meh or MorningSave ).
• Cheese paper.
• Belt thing (forgot proper name) with room for (and includes 20) bags for dog poop.
• USB A to micro USB cable.
• Bendable USB light.
• Wall adapter for something.
• Photo album.
• Micro SD to SD adapter.
• Keychain.
• 6 pack of 6 inch glowsticks (probably more assorted than random color options from Meh ).
• Earplugs.
• Speck tablet case.
• 12 star US flag pin.
• Eragon lunchbox (better than English movie, though not as funny as the same movie in various other languages).
• Pizza slicer.
• Another thing whose name eludes me.
• Don’t Panic sticker like that which can be seen on certain editions of Mostly Harmless.
• Laser pointer with red and green lights. Batteries are fun. Green uses 910A, and red uses LR41.
• Magnetic LED light (like what Meh has sold).
• Multi-use tool. Good. My other good one had issues with barely any use.
Well done @zachdecker. Great box!
@PlacidPenguin long pointy thing is maybe a letter opener (possibly missing the handle cover)? Or since there is a hole at one end perhaps for use as a concealed weapon to hang somewhere on your person?
@Kidsandliz @PlacidPenguin Yep, pointy thing is a letter opener (we had two, and I never use either)
The bottle cover is to fit on a wine bottle, either for decoration or as a gift I suppose.
It was marked down a lot at the AAFES.
Who wouldn’t want one (or way too many) of these things to dress up their fancy bottles of wine?
Before:
After:
OK, Okay. Nervous for my reveal.
@Pony I didn’t weigh the box but it was plenty heavy.
Note the hands of my 8 year-old. We share a love of opening boxes of presents be they ever so meh (and this one was far from it)

2 4x6” picture frames
I would just like to say that my significant other is a compulsive eBay-er and gets packages from all over the world ALL THE TIME. I’ve had severe package envy. But now I know we just operate in separate spheres. He gets frequent lame, small packages, the contents of which he knows in advance. I get rare, packed packages of awesomeness that surprise and delight.
Thank you.
@monicabc Yay! Glad you don’t hate it! The kite is an octopus- it’s a super cheapo one, so no promises it will be worth a crap. The Tardis thingy is a keychain/purse charm that I made. As for the bath bomb; that’s no bath bomb. It’s a death star in pink soap form. I made that too. Ummm… oh yeah- the Korean spa towel is a super exfoliating washcloth. Nice and long so you can scrub your back easily. I freakin’ love those things.
Thank you @nigglez for my super box!

@nigglez I lived 12 years in Chicago and never did this. Might as well start now!
@ELUNO Which Overwatch backpack buddy did you get?! Did you open it!? Overwatch is my JAM!!
@MagnaVis I hadn’t opened it yet, but I just did and it’s Tracer
@pitamuffin You can eat all of your meals out of bacon bowls and then check your level of arterial blockage with your pulse oximeter. Awesome!
@sammydog01 Exactly!
Had some trouble editing, but here (hopefully) is the rest of my post:

attach it to my new tshirt and put meeples in it.
Thank you for such a fun box @smigit2002! And per your note, you did indeed get a “meh” and a “yay!”
@pitamuffin Yay, glad you liked some of what was in the box! It’s funny that you miss fanny packs… had I known, I would have sent the one I got from this year’s white elephant… with the rest of the baby hands. I have some fun co-workers.
@pitamuffin oh… my… god… that’s hilarious!
I tried to do this the easy way (for me)
Thanks @Turken!!
@amehzinggrace @Turken That’s the easy way? Good job!
OK, the Lego stickers are cool.
@amehzinggrace Yeah, can we get a close-up of the lego stickers? Unless it’s too hard.
@sammydog01 I hate to say… but it’s too hard at the moment… will upload it tomorrow when in front of a computer…
@sammydog01
@amehzinggrace Glad you enjoyed your box! And I believe “Frodo” is actually a vintage “Willow” figure circa mid-80’s.
@Turken Thanks! I love that movie…now I must go find it to watch again…
@amehzinggrace @Turken love the artwork!!!
@amehzinggrace I love the zombie stickers! Thanks for sharing!
@amehzinggrace @Turken i recognize a couple of things from this box!
My box courtesy of @smigit2002 contained:
T-Mobile Tuesday Scarf
Perfect Bacon Bowls
A white tray, thing
A phone case, phone-type unknown
A pair of hands to hold the unknown phone case to mock me for my lack of knowledge on phones
A go-belt (Meh sold these once, yeah?)
A heart-rate monitor watch
A hand, severed from its tiny body
Glow BARS
A pink circle of some kind
A case for my wife’s kindle (She said thank you)
A graduation gift bag
A pair of tortoise shell sunglasses
A sticky card wallet for the back of a phone
A sticky basket for organizing your car
And my personal favorite, a sweet Dr. Who shirt
@RdiPr
A Who Halloween by @fablefire.
@RdiPr Glad you liked the shirt! I think the pink… thing… is supposed to be a non-slip phone surface thing. Couldn’t tell you what the white tray is, though. The inlaws thought it would make a good stocking stuffer, but had no idea what it was either.
Yes, Meh sold the running belts… I believe in 4 packs. I only needed one, my mother got one, and two more went out on this exchange!
I’m happy to hear your wife’s kindle now has protection!
3 DVD’s Shaun of the dead and sequel… Who knew? And a David Spade SNL retrospective!
A head lamp --have one and can always use another.
Two unopened containers of expensive night cream… Hmm
A women’s travel toiletries thing
G-d loveth a cheerful giver figurine
A 2Pac shot glass. (Something I would never have thought of…
Face coasters, ditto. I never wore my coasters before!
A used connected Life HD camera. No fancy Bluetooth or Wifi here. Just good old reliable ethernet!!
Thanks @RdiPr
@readnj Shaun of the Dead is DVD GOLD!!!
@readnj If you like Shaun of the Dead at all, Hot Fuzz is worth a watch. You got the dvds for those two because I ended up buying them again on blu-ray. (so I like them…) Anyway, hopefully, you enjoy some of the meh that came in your box!
Oh boy! My package from @monicabc arrived, what’s inside?
Oh wait… what’s that on the box? Why, it’s a pixel-perfect picture of Irk, wow!
First things first. Here’s my kitty happily sitting on her new catnip mouse:
And here’s all my new goodies laid out and–
Hey! Snix! Get off the goods! OK great, now we can get down to busi-- HEY!!
Ok, what do we have here?
One Chicago Cubs puzzle
One set of MAGIC wire puzzles
4x temporary tattoos of various whimsical descriptions
A Bodum Coffee press. YAY! MORE COFFEE IN MY GULLET!
One DVD of Mark Twain lectures and–wait! That’s not Mark Twain at all… it’s KARL MARX EVERYBODY! OMG!
4 hilarious “make the world weirder and cooler” cards – where you smile at strangers, or give them pie, or give them some origami, or just surprise them with a little card! I LOVE THIS IDEA, and will clasp it to my bosom.
2 oddball USB cables. Very on-brand and Meh!
One 2013 daily calendar, complete with a few entries already filled out, and a few tasty aphorisms neatly starred, such as: “In the end it’s not the years in your life, it’s the life in your years”, by that sage Abe Lincoln. He’s going places, that guy! Also, there are a few difficult-to-decipher notes about what Monica was doing in mid-February, 2013. And in the back there’s a list of Microsoft Excel keyboard shortcuts. I LOVE KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS!
One “Wild Flossers” dental floss aparatus, where a little purple dinosaur will hold the floss for you. RAWR! My teeth feel zestier already.
One magnetic picture frame
One packet of wildflower seeds – hmmm I need to find a drab spot to liven up with these.
Two little cubical-type puzzles…one floppy and rather easy to assemble and one that worries me. If I take it apart, will I ever get it back into a cube? TIME WILL TELL.
One packet of gel pens. You can’t tell from the photo, but the manufacturer delivered ~10% more pink ink than blue, orange or yellow. WHY? WHAT DO THEY KNOW THAT I DON’T?!
One pirate chest from the hobby shop – I mean, from a damp cave littered with blood and bones and tattered flags. Inside the chest was the aforementioned kitty toy, catnip and a little vial full of gold! Gold flakes, anyway! Surely innumerable kitty pirates threw themselves against the barricades in feverish battle to protect this treasure, but were vanquished by the cruel pummelling unleashed by @monicabc!
And finally, what’s possibly the best item on the list: A Maine Made Balsam Fir freshening pillow with cute little blueberries on the outside! I LOVE FEELING FRESH! And this little pillow, upon my first whiff, transported me (mentally) to a shadowed glade, where I lay down in spring-green growth and was nuzzled by an actual literal fawn, who sang Vickie Carr songs to me until I drifted off to sleep.
Thanks Monica! This was super fun. I’m looking forward to playing with my stuff.
@UncleVinny I don’t see even 1 of those pics.
@mfladd panic! Crisis! Hopefully you can see them now.
Crap. No can fix, apparently. Anyway, try this link: https://imgur.com/gallery/1RcMy
@mfladd @UncleVinny snix is so shiny, sleek and gorgeous!
@mfladd @UncleVinny
It’s almost as if something was broken so that people switch to Cloudinary (the embedder which you see when making comments).
@mfladd @moonhat she’s a ray of chocolate sunshine!
@monicabc here’s a quick photo update. I like my temporary tattoos:
…and the puzzle was fun!
Meh. You guys all suck. I had too much going on and forgot to sign up. Now I have to bear witness to all the goods everyone got and I’m green with jelly. Boo!
@ruouttaurmind Keep whining and I’ll fill a box with crap and ship it to you. And don’t think I can’t put together a box of crap. Just look at my purchase history.
From @Tinamarie1974 where fortunately I got home before it started pouring so didn’t get soaked.
Everything (except the cat mouse since goat cat stole it before I could even take a photo of it with everything else)
TX air
A bunch of christmas wrapping paper and white tissue paper that was used to take up room in the box. Being a good daughter, who was trained well, I smoothed it out, folded it up - AND as a joke will give it my mom who always insisted we carefully opened christmas presents so she could save the paper.
Ugly teddy bear (yes that is written on the tag)
Box with wine glasses
Plastic black cat
paying cards
3 boxes metallic jewelry tattoos that likely my kid will swipe
candle (real one)
2 battery candles
portable wine glass
Some more tattoos
2 stickers
hairclip
puzzle
sunglasses
water balloons attached to a plastic thing to fill it maybe?
Thanks!
oops some how the photos went away when I edited. and forgot to list card and jump rope
@Kidsandliz yes water balloons. Super fun
@tinamarie1974 I know just the almost 4 and almost 5 year olds who would be thrilled. I gave them water guns for valentines day.
@tinamarie1974 A moment of silence please… for the cat toy. Murdered by someone while they were playing with it.
But fun while it lasted.
@Kidsandliz oh well. At least it’s life was not lived in vain. hope the cat had fun!
@tinamarie1974 oh they did. They like it better than the box.
@tinamarie1974 And now it really is unraveled. Cats kept playing with the toy and have pretty much removed all of the plastic twine around the body. They are working on killing the feather tail now. They’ve had a blast. Thanks again for a nice box!
@Kidsandliz glad you and the kitty liked it
I arrived home today to find a very plain looking box on my front porch from @mikeleemm
I opened it with my daughters after dinner, and the joke is on all you losers who got junk, because we just WON this exchange!! (this is a contest, correct?)
We had previously received a very nice box from @mikeleem during the 4.01.a v2 exchange, but he has apparently upped his game since then.
I tried to divide our booty up into categories. First is apparel:
Next up is entertainment, and I got books and DVDs:
Wii U Star Wars Figures, 3.0 edition!:
We don’t have a Wii or have ever played or seen “Disney Infinity”, but we might know someone who wants them. Even if not, my daughters just want to play with the figures since they like Star Wars.
Poe Dameron!!
4, count them, 4 fidget spinners:
One metal and 3 that light up!
Are these all meh purchases(?) in addition to the fidget spinners?:
Even more stuff!:
Note from @mikeleemm:
Ha ha ha!! We can close this thread!
I WIN!!
Suck it, losers!!!
@zachdecker @zachdecker I didn’t realize you two had been paired before - would have shifted everyone down a row had I known. Of course then @Placidpenguin never would have ended up with @mfladd (although that was the result of the first shift as someone got themselves). But in the future if you want to sample the full range of folks out there do comment in the sign up who you have had in the past so that rows can be shifted if need be.
@zachdecker qwirkle is a fast fun game.
@zachdecker Oh man, Northern Exposure. I was obsessed with that show when it was on. OK, to be honest I was mostly obsessed with Maggie. But still! So many great characters. I even visited the city where they filmed it: Roslyn, WA.
@zachdecker
/image Loot Crate Ugly Holiday Sweater
@Kidsandliz No problems on the match, was just as fun! @zachdecker Glad you enjoyed, some very random items, and Qwirkle is fast and fun, and for some reason I had multiples. The bus is actually a “Food Truck” lol.
@narfcake @zachdecker Bingo!
@zachdecker Um, yeah, hi? @MagnaVis here? I just wanna point out. That my box? from @pitamuffin? had 5 fidget spinners. Now, I know it’s not a contest, but you said you win when you clearly did not. And I was afraid you’d go through life each day thinking you’d won this exchange which was clearly not a competition that you did not win.
That is all.
Box came from @baqui63, but I don’t have time to open it until later today.
Actually, opened it, and briefly looked through it.
Will post a picture and a list later.
@baqui63 - What’s the bird thingie? Also, are those two tubes of ponchos?
I opened and removed one, but I didn’t unfold it.
@PlacidPenguin I was told it was a lemon slice squeezer, but cannot say for sure. It lived in one of my kitchen drawers until about two months ago when I cleaned out said drawers by tossing everything I’d not used for a while into a box. Since that particular tossing, I’ve had to dig into said box on two occasions.
The other things are these; I purchased eight of them just over five years ago.
@baqui63
Good thing I didn’t bring them with me on a rainy day then, huh?
Received my box from @amehzinggrace today.
• Cap
• 2 commemorative medallions.
• Pad of paper.
• 2 pins. (One of which is for People of Earth, which excited me!)
• Texas Instruments business analyst calculator.
• 2 drawstring bags.
• 2 books (Cradle to Cradle, and Lisa Jackson’s Deep Freeze.)
• Temptations cat treats.
• 5 other pins.
• Wireless Recharging Pad.
• 2 bags.
• Poster.
• Lightup seahorse toy.
• Magnet with the caption "she thought of him fondly as “Plan B”.
• A clip thingy.
• 3 squishy crocodiles (I believe).
• J. Strauss II’s Viennese Nights.
• Correction tape (You know, for when you don’t have one of those junky White-Out© pens handy.)
• Book of texture samples.
@amehzinggrace - Thank you for this delightful box!
Thank you @baqui63 for a wonderful box. I finally had a chance to properly look at it.
• 19 fruit fridge magnets.
• 6 foot tube for a CPAP machine.
• 3 t-shirts (a Woot one, and two others which I either blurred or covered so that Narf can’t link to them easily. I’m kind that way).
• Reading glasses.
• 2 rollable water bottles.
• 2 shopping bags which can be folded up (with EXTREME difficulty into carry cases.
• Old Fart cap (will come in handy for somebody ).
• 5 pack of 1" Phillips head bits.
• SATA to USB adapter case.
• Remote control for something.
• Lantern
• Picture hanger kits manufactured in W. Germany.
• Lemon squeezer from what I understand.
• AARP fanny pack.
@PlacidPenguin The remote is (almost certainly) from one of the helicopters that meh sold a while back.
A laptop (2.5") hard drive (say after an SSD upgrade) and that USB case make a decent external hard drive, though these days flash drives have gotten so large there is less need for using a hard drive to move files around (when the cloud isnt’ an option).
Last night I received a very packed box from @ELUNO. ELUNO must be very good at Tetris, as I cannot fathom how all of this stuff came out of that box:
This box fully satisfied the “joy of discovering so much random in one box” that my first Meh exchange brought to me. Thanks @ELUNO!
@djslack Hooray! Glad you enjoyed it! Some of those were reused from the previous box I received, so thank @mikibell as well!
I am guessing that @Deeme is a doctor, or at least well on the way to doctordom. This box had a definite body theme going on!
Head, Physical:
Brain Enrichment:
Torso, outside and in:
Hands, protecting and occupying:
Olfactory, instant and delayed gratification:
Memory:
Thanks, @Deeme!
@djslack I am glad you liked it! I was hunting through my random collection I have accumulated through like and I guess I must be knee deep in the medical bubble because numerous medical kick-knacks began popping up! Enjoy!!!
It seems to me that @pitamuffin really likes their vidya games, as the (ahMehzing) box had quite a few related items. This also works well for me, because I love a game every now and then! The card said pitamuffin strove for Mehdiocrity, but I have to say, it far surpassed that. More commentary to follow, but lets take a look!
Yeah guys, drink it in. Know that I got pitamuffin and you did not (though you may have, I think they sent out more than one box). A few closeup, then on to the breakdown:
What came in the box?
These are in no particular order other than me essentially going counterclockwise around the pile I laid out to take the picture of. I really do love my whole box, and was beyond stunned. Cat had to get in on the action, well before it was even all laid out. She has decided the Meh bag belongs to her now.
Here’s the vinyl album, close up:
Cat playing with the bag:
Thanks again @pitamuffin, for the surprisingly not-Meh. box, and for your patience in waiting for me to get this posted.
@MagnaVis captain caveman?!? Me wantz!
@ELUNO Tell me about it! I may have been way more excited about that than I should have been, lol.
@ELUNO @MagnaVis The correct spelling of this is:
CAAPTAIN CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVEEEMAAAAAN!
As my daughters have no idea why I am laughing at this, I suddenly realize I have failed somewhat as a parent.
@MagnaVis Sweeet Box! Nice job @pitamuffin
@MagnaVis @zachdecker It’s hard when they pretty much don’t show those cartoons anymore…
@MagnaVis Glad you enjoyed it. And your cat is beautiful!
These amazing reveals make me anxious. I feel like the box I sent was nothing compared to these. I hope my recipient isn’t too disappointed.
@RiotDemon thankfully dj already said he liked mine, so no takebacksies!
@RiotDemon I, too, feel inadequate. But I remember feeling this way in previous exchanges yet recipients (when they acknowledge) seem to be pleased. So I think it’s just crap swap insecurity.
That said, there have been some really awesome boxes this go round. (Including yours, @ELUNO.)
@ELUNO one of your cute spiders managed to escape your house and jump in the box.
@CaptAmehrican My love spiders are in a mission to spread love throughout the world!
My apologies to MoonHat for sending so late. Had emergency and just got home. Not a good way to do my first exchange. It will post on Monday.
@Joy823 I forgive you on behalf of the entire world!
@Joy823 I hope your emergency turned out ok. Just blame the goat for not getting it out
@Joy823 no problem!
Thanks you folks are too kind. The flu kicked me hard this year. Guess I’m getting old!
My box from @Confusedkitty came in earlier this week, but didn’t get a chance to open until today. A bounty of adequate meh-ness, list and pics to come shortly!
Hey folks if you haven’t sent yet if you could please let me know, and perhaps when you hope to get it out, so that I can let your person know since I have been getting emails from folks wondering what is up.
If you have received, at least post you got it and then post photos when you can.
Thanks all.
OK 8 that I can see haven’t sent - or if they have they haven’t posted about it and/or nor told me. Three have sent where their person likely hasn’t received yet - at least, again, that I know of. If you are going to be late sending please let me know so I can send a message to your person that they haven’t been forgotten. Or post to them on the thread. Your choice.
Of those I know for sure have sent, 5 people who have likely received haven’t posted yet (please at least acknowledge on the thread that yours has arrived even if you don’t have time to do photos yet), and one sent where likely it hasn’t arrived yet…
Approaching the box, I knew I was in for a treat when I saw that the USPS also threw in a good box smashing for free!
Opening the box, found lots of goodies:
Overall, really enjoyed the package. Some really nice swag much of which I have no idea when/if I’ll ever actually use, making this a truly meh-tacular mexchange. Thanks again @Confusedkitty!
@Tinamarie1974 read your email from me before you post.
@CaptAmehrican
WOW what a box of stuff. I’m uber pleases with mine and the wait was no problem. I got a box with a yatching
theme and then some well known general products.
And last but far from least
Captain thank you for your thoughtful generous merch.
I’m feeling that anxiety my box will be not be nearly so cool. I’ve wanted to do this since Woot days glad I finally joined the fun.
@MoonHat yours will be in the mail tomorrow
@Joy823 you do know the goat cookie cutter means you should be goat soon. Mehwahhh (evil meh laugh)
I forgot to mention the awesome purple spotted canvas back pack to hold all that treasure. Love theart work on the box to.
@moonhat I received your box and it was so great!! I will get the pics posted in the next day or so. It really was wonderful. I’m behind getting my boxes out, work has been kicking my butt but they will be out in the next couple of days also. I hope no one is disappointed in my boxes. I am doing mine as it was explained to me, sending stuff that I have in my house. Nothing used, but not going to out buy anything extra…hopefully I have some decent stuff and no one will be sad.
Last week, @djslack’s box to me arrived at my job. Alas, it was left to languish in the dark, alone within the bowels of Central Receiving until today. (IOW, it sat on a pallet waiting for me to go get it.)
I’ll post pix, etc. later tonight.
@baqui63 Since it was a work address, I was very tempted to be “creative” with the box’s exterior. My better judgment and a lack of time to get it done won out (more the latter than the former) in the end.
@djslack I get almost all my packages via work and Central Receiving is the only department on campus to which I give a holiday gift (cookies or some such). It pays to know who the important people are and to make sure they are happy.
On several occasions, I’ve unpacked fukos and BOC in the head of Central Receiving’s office and most of the people in Central Receiving are friendly with me, so I doubt it would have mattered very much, though it might have raised some questions.
So, @baqui63 is a total asshole who procrastinates a lot and then loses track of just how long it has been. (Also, I was rather sick with a flu-like thing that wasn’t flu and had other shit going on like getting a new pacemaker, all of which are really just shitty excuses for procrastinating and effectively being a dick.)
Anyway, @djslack sent me an awesomely cool box eons ago and I never posted pix, so here they come, finally…
@djslack
DASH button for Hansen’s Soda (might eventually hack the DASH buttons I have to make them useful for something)
Cheap Sunglasses (they look blue but are grayish)
Fidget spinner
meh squeezable hockey puck-like thing
Gold, green and PURPLE! strands of Mardi Gras beads
plus…
@djslack
100 piece puzzle
LOOTCrate Cylon Raider figurine
Avengers Age of Ultron mini Bobbleheads
Stainless Steel cup-like thing with screw on ring that might just be an insulated tumbler but perhaps served some other purpose in a previous life
Non-functioning Mock Security Camera (I guess they felt the “non-functioning” disclaimer was necessary in case someone didn’t know what MOCK means)
CompTIA Cape
@djslack
The “VOYAGER” plastic model kit
Space Precinct 2040 Lieutenant Brogan figure (I had to Google this one as I missed a lot of things back in the mid-90s when my kids were young)
Rest of CompTIA cape (for the record, the cape is in one piece, just shown in two parts in the pix)
Hand Wipes with POWER (easily cleans both Fish Odors and Gasoline!)
Street Fighter Patch (on back it states: ADULT COLLECTIBLE Not intended for children.)
Left half of handwritten note (also in one piece, see next photo…)
@baqui63 No worries on the delay, I hope you are feeling much better.
The stainless steel thing is a vacuum insulated beer/soda can koozie. Unscrew the ring, insert can, replace ring, imbibe. This one is not a Yeti but I believe they get away with charging $25 for their version.
@djslack
The entire note, and also a close up of the woot! t-shirt under the stuff in the first photo:
All in all, a most awesome box of stuff, @djslack! Several of these items will make great gifts for friends plus I will use the beer can koozie myself (now that I know what it is)!
I also didn’t say it above: I’m sorry for being so late in posting these pix. I hate to have been THAT GUY
@djslack I am feeling better, thanks!
I received an absolutely a-meh-zing box from @mick yesterday. Sorry I have not posted pics yet, but I’ve had a few very long days. I will post for all to see … and feel completely jealous tomorrow!
Thanks @mick
@mick I apologize for the delay in posting - although it is not an excuse, I received some bad news and went off-line.
At any rate, many thanks for the most a-meh-zing box! I am not sure how you packed so many things in a large priority mail box. You are skilled!
Contents include:
9 Worthers Original Candy
17, Mookite Jasper stone from Australia
20 Bugsy DVD
Again, thank you so much
Pictures
@mick i somehow forgot some delicious crazyixed up salt and a jug of au juos. There was just so much!!!
@tinamarie1974 you are so welcome to these glorious very mehhh items!!! lol
@tinamarie1974 i was scared for a minute… i thought … shit! i messed up and didn’t put the janes crazy salt, the only pretty good thing, in the whole box, in the damn box!!!
@mick No, sorry it was there. Just next to my stove. I have never used it before I received your box, but LOVE it now! I am sprinkling it onto everything I cook.
I forgot to grab it when I took the picture and make the list I guess I did a meh job
@tinamarie1974 next to the stove, right where i want it!! i love it too. take a whole chicken sprinkle lots of it all in and around it bake for 1 and 1/2 hours at 400 delish!!!
it is spring today tinamarie!!
@mick thanks, same to you…cept I was getting snow flurries when I left for the office this morning SMH lol
Super thank you to RiotDemon for the awesome box!
-Fitness tracker
-LED Headlamp
-300th Starwars Figure!
-Hubman (will actually come in handy if it works)
-Batman Cape socks
-Gold star pinbadge
-Shirtwoot Shirt, trading cards, and sticker
-Non Bluetooth speaker
-sunglasses
-and a Precious moments Figure (Grandma says thanks)
oops forgot to @riotdemon
@nigglez I hope you really did give the figurine to grandma because it has made its way through a few exchanges.
@RiotDemon Yeah she has a big old display case full of them, been collecting them since like the 80s. I’ll let her know that it has changed hands so many times, she’d get a kick out of sharing that story with her red hat group.
@RiotDemon and you didn’t keep it? For shame! It’s totally your style!
@ELUNO but look at where it ended up. It was meant to be!
@RiotDemon True. She’ll enjoy it much more than any of us ever would!
SO MANY GREAT BOXES!!! WHOOO WOO!!!
i have to go pick up my packages at the stupid post office.
so got to pick up my own great meh box for fun, from @BAQUI63 on monday!!! YIPPIE!!!
and it was a great box.
thank you @baqui63 .
(what in the world does…baqui… stand for??)
got a back up camera
crappy fruit magnets
leelo little doll… fifth element is a great movie.
a funny pink coffee mug
2 water bottles and 2 rain poncho things?
cheap flashlite
a tiny shoe with a nail in it. what?
2 first res-q shirts
a black plug cord, i don’t know what it plugs
1 linus, zelda kinda shirt
that is the perfect size for my granddaughter who loves zelda and really, really likes this t-shirt!
and the best thing ever.
these silly marching robots salt and pepper shakers!!!
i love them.
@mick
Those are shopping bags which can be folded up poncho-style.
Got them as well.
@mick Little image assistance for ya…
@ruouttaurmind they were fine when i posted last night, i wonder what went wrong???
thank you for fixing them!!
@PlacidPenguin that is very good to know, thank you! i was afraid to take them out, cause i knew i would never get them back in!!! lol
@mick I am very glad that the robots and t-shirt were a hit. The main reason I do these things is to turn something, anything, into something somebody loves. Many of these items came from BOC, fukus, fukos, or earlier BOC/mehxchanges (I’m fairly sure the shoe with a nail was from a BOCexchange, and I might even be able to figure out who sent it to me.)
baqui is a rather bad transliteration of the Cantonese term “白鬼” for a caucasian foreigner, literally “white ghost”; a better transliteration would be “baahkgwái” from the Wikipedia page for Gweilo explains this in much greater detail. The “63” is for 1963, the year of my birth.
Way back in the middle of the 1990s, when AIM was a thing, I needed a screen name and my then girlfriend was Cantonese, so I ended up with baqui63 which I’ve since used in numerous other places as well.
FWIW, there is a topic buried somewhere in the meh forums where many of the screen names used on meh are explained. Or maybe that was on deals.woot, though I don’t think so.
@baqui63 i just do it for shits and giggles.
it is a ambiguous cool name… although the 63 means you are 3 years younger, sigh…
mick is the collective of me my 2 girls (now they are 36 and 38 lol) initials. we always used it when we played video games. ya know like way back in the day. so good memories. i was never on any social media stuff till woot & meh. so at the time of picking a name, it did not dawn on me that everyone would think i was a dude!! lol
@mick WhaT?!
@mfladd @mick @baqui63
https://meh.com/forum/topics/explain-your-username
@mfladd
yep, a granny.
i thought you knew! lol
@baqui63 @mfladd @PlacidPenguin
thank you for this very interesting link!!
gonna take me a couple of minutes to read it all…:)
Got my box from @boredashell (and his awesome girlfriend) today, and holy crap, is it ever NOT meh! Seriously, it’s like they know me.
1 Meh face pillow, (which is now on the couch with the 2 I already had)
1 Cosmic cat pillow (Outta this world!)
1 package of glow shoelace jewelry (I haven’t worn this stuff in… almost 4 months!)
1 incense stick burner
1 Kawaii plush kitty journal
2 furry mice cat toys
1 package sidewalk chalk (Yes, I have been known to play with this stuff)
1 chocolate bar from a mummy exhibition, not sure if mummified. Further testing required.
1 package Uni-Doodi rubber unicorn poop (will take to the next event at the club we get stoopid at)
1 very cute beaded bracelet
1 bottle scented bubble stuff (whee!)
1 “Party pen” with silver tinsel on the top (will have to fight to keep cats from stealing)
1 “Hoppin’ Surprise” egg with candy and wind-up baby chick (has cat terrorizing potential)
1 super cute denim Ipsy bag containing makeup in colors I actually like, a really nice blush brush, hair treatment and a $5 Ulta coupon! (contributed by the aforementioned awesome girlfriend, who also wrote the little notes that were stuck on things)
3 packets of 303 brand Aerospace protectant to protect my aerospaces with (hubby is eyeing these, I think he wants them for in the cabin of his boat)
1 Kendama (I am nowhere near coordinated enough to successfully play with one, but I’ll give it a go anyway)
2 cute tiny flashlights, batteries included (one for my purse, one for my nightstand drawer)
And my favorite item, a 24 Oz Caticorn insulated tumbler with straw. I fucking LOVE this. My friends are going to flip when they see it. I am gonna post a pic in the replies of me and hubby at the club on “Mewnicorn” night a while back. (monthly event called “Caturday” with a different cat theme each time, proceeds go to cat rescues)
So THANK YOU @boredashell and Awesome Girlfriend! This was so much fun, and I love all of it!
@Pony I’m so glad you enjoyed your box. We had a lot of fun packing it for you and i was happy to find that you were so vocal on the forums so i could make it a good one for you. I finally opened my box of stuff and come to find some awesome things. Will post pictures tonight hopefully when i get back to town from Columbia, MO.
@Pony nice haul!
@RiotDemon Right?? I made out like a bandit over here!
@Pony totally jelly.
@gio How jelly are you over that sunglass cat pillow?!
@gio @mfladd I am fairly certain I am too old to use the phrase “jelly”, which means you are EONS too old to use it, @mfladd
@gio @mikibell
@mfladd But you can definitely be old enough to embarrass your children by saying jelly.
@sammydog01 Hahaha…she is quite use to the fact that I don’t follow “age etiquette”. She has instructions to pull the plug if I ever do. Plus, I have friends that use that term, it’s not that “young” anymore.
@mfladd I used MF in reference to a headache the other day, and mine was like “no, MOM, just NO”… heheh I think she thought I was unaware of the meaning!
So I had @kidsandliz . We share a love of all things tall ship. She sent an amazing box. . so the first picture is everything. The next picture are these neat nautical pins.
@CaptAmehrican
Such a great selection of nautical pins.
@CaptAmehrican
And then the books and cookbooks.
And my favorite item check out these ship in a bottle ornaments. These are going to need year round display.
@CaptAmehrican Glad there was stuff in there that you liked (and no doubt some stuff to be passed along in the next exchange as I passed on a few things to you the same way ).
@Kidsandliz i love love love my box. It is clearly the most awesome of all the boxes.
@CaptAmehrican I had been thinking of replacing the red ribbon on the ships in bottles with tan, waxed sail “thread” that I was going to then make a fancy knot but I couldn’t find what I had done with that stuff (in boxes 180 miles away which is where my pins and the ships in bottles were stored. I had to wait until I went back there to get that stuff - didn’t know I was going to get you so hadn’t planned ahead which is why it took so long to send) so didn’t switch it out before I gave it to you.
@CaptAmehrican @Kidsandliz do you two sail and/or have boats?
@moonhat We both work on or have worked on boats, tall ships, have USCG master licenses… (I also have able body seaman limited). I have owned tiny (like 14-16’), very used, sailboats - they feel like bath tub toys compared to sailing a tall ship. I have no idea if @CaptAmehrican owns any. I don’t own any right now as I have had to sell all my toys to pay medical bills, living expenses, vet bills…
@CaptAmehrican @Kidsandliz If either of you are ever in the pacific nw, we keep our sailboat up near the San Juan islands, we could go for a sail!
@CaptAmehrican i LOVE pins!! these are great pins. my step son would be sooo jealous of all your ship stuff.
@CaptAmehrican @Kidsandliz what a fabulous box!!!
@moonhat too bad I don’t still live in northern Idaho. That would have only been only a 7ish hour trip, presuming Snoqualmie pass was open. Now it’d be a 2500+ mile drive. I once took the ferry from Vancouver to Victoria and that was gorgeous. Otherwise would LOVE to come!!
@Kidsandliz @moonhat yes I love sailing . No i dont have the time and money or need to own between work and fun i was on boats over 330 days last year sailing over 90 of those.
@CaptAmehrican If I spent that many days a year on a boat I probably wouldn’t own one either : ) And in fact I only owned boats when I didn’t “boat” for a living. When I took people camping, rock climbing, kayaking, etc, for a living I did do a few personal trips but I spent my limited time off pursing other interests of mine.
@@Moonhat You sent me the best box!! I love everything. Loved your note the most though! Thank you very much.

Ok my photo is not cooperating
I’m sooooo glad you liked it Tracie!! (And I had asked kidsandliz if you’d received it or not because I had sent it 2-day, and it took closer to a week- I figured due to weather) I And I felt the same about the candle… keep it and use it or give it as a gift-- too funny
@moonhat Weather and my wimpy mail people who are scared to go up my driveway either because its a little ( OK a lot) rutted or my sweet doggies kept it from being delivered on time. We’ll have to talk some time about TheWalking Dead!
@mehbee Yes yes yes! All those FB pics you have with the TWD cast…! It appears like you know them all. ‘Hey, whatever, just having a quick pic taken with Negan, no biggie…’. wowwwww. So cool.
Still not sure what @confusedkitty thought of the box from me which they also received on Feb 22nd.
That’s right. All 3 boxes sent by me got delivered the same day.

Hey have you folks gotten your boxes yet? Please let me know yes or no (using the whisper function is fine).
If your answer is yes please at least mention on the thread that you got it and that you will be posting pics when you can.
If your answer is no I will email your sender.
@Boredashell
@SLRN
@mikeleemm
@RiotDemon
@baqui63
@Mehbee
@Bramby2
@Confusedkitty
@mossygreen
@hoosier
Thanks.
“The (unofficial) Manmehment”
@Kidsandliz I have not gotten a box yet. I’ve been inundated with junk mail…but, alas, no box. (Packages received from late night/drunk Amazon shopping don’t count either).
@Kidsandliz I have not received a box yet, but neither have I sent one yet. It turns out that last summer I developed a really strong association between crap exchanges and massive basement flooding, which means that it’s making me sad to think about it, but: I will do this. I will send a Wedge Antilles figure, and many other things which will change my recipient’s life in a profound but probably imperceptible way.
Anyway, you don’t need to e-mail me, because I am well aware of my failure.
@bramby2 @Kidsandliz i got a box. And the person that sent it is tagged i think. The reveal will be epic. When i can freaking get to it
@boredashell Thanks for letting us know.
@Kidsandliz I have not received a box yet
@Kidsandliz @mikeleemm Mikeleemm Your box is going out tomorrow…sorry for the delay
@hoosier @Kidsandliz Thanks, and no problem.
@Kidsandliz I know you know that I’ve emailed you about my second box, but since you listed me and that might have been because you missed my brief mention above:
I received one box from @djslack (the mention above, nine days ago!) of which I will post pix later today, along with more apologies for being so delinquent.
FWIW, regarding the second box, even if tracking shows it as delivered (to my job), I won’t be at my job to get it until Tuesday (March 20).
@baqui63 If I had listed you and you had already told me what was up I apologize. And as I said further down this thread - blame the goat.
@Kidsandliz Just wanted to make sure that there is as little confusion as possible.
No need to apologize… as you say, it is all the goat’s fault anyway.
Hey have you folks sent your boxes? Please let me know yes or no (using the whisper function is fine).
If yes and your person should have gotten it already let me know and I will send them an email to post. If you know when it should be arriving please let me know.
If your answer is no please let me know when you think you will be sending so I can let your person know they aren’t forgotten.
@hoosier
@Mehbee (2 boxes)
@mfladd
@mossygreen
@SLRN
@UncleVinny
Thanks.
“The (unofficial) Manmehment”
@Kidsandliz yep! USPS showed the box arrived on time, but I haven’t heard from Hoosier whether they got it. Fingers crossed, though.
@Kidsandliz oops, whispering is apparently too complicated for me…
@Kidsandliz @UncleVinny Yes I got it thanks… It was great! I will make an opening post here shortly
@Kidsandliz My boxes went in the mail today and will arrive Thursday. I have tracking numbers if they run into any problems.
PS if I accidentally included you in one of the above lists and missed your post or email about this then sorrry about that and please blame the goat.
Thanks.
“The (unofficial) Manmehment”
So some of our delinquent senders have promised they were sending their boxes Yesterday (monday)… We all know the best is saved for last. Right?
@Kidsandliz Oh no don’t say that…mine are full but I doubt the best…lol…I want my peeps to expect Meh not woo hoo
Tomorrow’s Thursday. Three of you should have an exciting day!
@Kidsandliz According to tracking, one of mine was delivered, front door porch and the other was forwarded to a different address. So at least it got to the right area, just not the right address quite yet
@mehbee Forwarded??? That is beyond weird.
@Kidsandliz I know, it said it was forwarded due to forwarding instructions or because the address or zip code was incorrect. Who knows, as long as they get it, I’m a happy camper.
@mehbee Oh wait… I’d have to find it but I think someone was going to be out of town until late next week or something and was having crap sent to the office… Maybe that was it. I can’t look at the moment, and remind me if I forget. Grading crap. Lots of crap. Midterm grades due shortly.
My box arrived! I haven’t gotten to take pics and write a post yet but the box is very cool! I’ll try for this weekend but it might have to wait. Thanks @mehbee!
@RiotDemon
Box received from @hoosier and it was well worth the wait! First, there’s the audio set, I can always use that, then something I’ve always wanted, a mini drone! I had to start that up and play with it right away, the dog was not amused. Then some meh goodies metallic tattoos, insect bands, and light up fidget spinners, HA! Then some really heavy duty gloves, bag of screws, waterproof CAULK, masking tape, safety glasses, and a tie down… Hmm the things I can do with that. A random cell phone charger and cable. Finally an LED light kit. Thanks, and back to playing with that drone!

Got my second box and I love it. I will try to post pics tomorrow!
Here’s my super late reveal. Sorry about that. Lots of personal stuff happening and I just now got a chance to lay it all out for photos. This box is super awesome with a lot of fun stuff.
First photo is everything in a big pile.
Coloring stuff. Cat coloring book, colored pens, colored sharpies.
Wearables. Woot shirt, purse, earrings, hedgehog charm, sunglasses, American eagle necklace, masquerade mask, ear bag ear muffs.
Drink stuff. Funny chimpanzee tea infuser, camping clip on mug, silicone stemless wine glasses (at least that’s what I think they are), and the most awesome light up Disney mug that I put next to my bed right away. Two modes, flickering candle and color changing.
Other things. More light up stuff! I love stuff with lights. Light wire string, emergency flashlight, purse light/alarm, light up keychain carabiners, fidget spinner, alcohol tester, hot iron holster, Hawkeye Mr potato, Oreo dippers, colored gravel glass sculpture, commuter games book.
Thanks @mehbee, this brought me a lot of joy! I’ll definitely be using a lot of these items.
@RiotDemon Hi, so glad you liked my box! Weren’t you on our GISHWHES team this year? I was thinking you were and sent the hedgehog necklace. It’s a combo of two animals but I forgot what the second oneis supposed to be. Anyway, I got it in my box of mementos that I ordered and thought you might like it. Also, I think those colored gravel stones in the bottle are bath salts. Lastly, I’m so happy that you liked the light up stein. I loved it but having five granddaughters caused a big dilemma. You helped me resolve it!!
@mehbee no, I haven’t done GISHWES unfortunately. Was the hedgehog part of something related to it?
Neener neener to the grandkids. The lovely stein is mine!
Thanks again. Seriously great box.
@RiotDemon Yes it was this year’s mascot. LOL, I’m glad someone that liked it as much as me got it.
@mfladd. I am so sorry to be late with my pic and list of items that you sent me. I’ve been inbed for a week with an upper respiratory infection, but I loved, loved my box. Here’s the picture and list will follow.
@mehbee @mfladd How big was that box??? That is a ton of stuff.
@Kidsandliz @mfladd he definitely packed it full. I can’t get it to post right!
@mehbee hope you’re feeling better!
@RiotDemon Starting to, thanks.
Yeah! Got it!

@mehbee I’ve liked the holy grail for a long time. My partner is obsessed.
@mehbee What are fart bubbles? I have a six year old niece obsessed with farts, burps, etc. I feel like I this may be something I need to find for her…
@tinamarie1974 From the bottle they seem to be regular bubbles that smell like farts. I’ll take a pic of the bottle tomorrow and post it. In my other box I received a prank candle. It smells nice for awhile and all of a sudden starts to smell like farts…yum!
@RiotDemon Run away! Run away!

@mehbee @RiotDemon That Tim talks in case you haven’t tried him.

@mfladd @RiotDemon Oh wow, I didn’t know that, I’ll have to check him out some more
Well, crap. I missed this years Mehrican Exchange. I’m sad and depressed as I’ve participated in at least two, maybe three in the past.
@juststephen I’m sure there will be another one this year
And on Monday of this week I finally picked up @mehbee’s box to me. (See previous excuse above about being sick and recall (or be aware) that packages go to work so I don’t get them if I’m home sick, though today is Thursday so I did procrastinate a bit here as well, for which I’m sorry.)
And Dropbox is procrastinating with uploading the pix from my phone, so I’ll be back in a few with the pix…
(Why does Dropbox sometimes sort pix completely out of order? It is so frakking annoying!)
Anyways… from @mehbee!

And finally, a handwritten note:
No worries re: the lateness (I’m much worse). As mentioned above, most of these items will get some use, especially the Klein bag and the LED lantern, plus I now have some of my gift shopping done for the coming year! Thanks for a wonderfully fun and useful box!
@baqui63 HI! Glad there was something in there for you to use, and the rest can be a tax deduction…lol
My first exchange has gotten off to a bumpy start! I sent a box, but have not been able to bask in the glory of my recipient’s “big reveal.” I’ve assembled what few photos I did take before sending the box off (on February 19th) and downloaded the rest of the images. Here is the box I SENT:
Here is the list-o-things:
Slinky
Meh bumper sticker
Darth Vader Pez Dispenser
Star Wars C-3PO Metal Can Cooler
Star Trek Epic Box
Meh Car Magnet
Draw What Success Looks Like Adult Coloring and Activity Book
Crayons (16 count for adults)
Road Trip Bingo Game
Star Wars playing cards
Chewbacca and Porg puzzle
John Wayne DVD—7 movies in one!
Meh face pillow
TWO bags of Candy corn (VERY hard to find in February)
Fidget spinner
Weird flying thing
Pug dog face key chain that barks
Fake dog poop
Inflatable cat unicorn horn
St Patrick’s Day inflatable hat
St Patrick’s Day light up necklace
St Patrick’s Day light up glasses
Glitter stickers, of course
@bramby2 looks like a great box! Hopefully whoever got it is enjoying it.
Wish I had taken pictures of my first exchange box.
@bramby2 You did good! Bask in that glory
@RiotDemon Indeed! Lesson learned about taking “before” pictures just in case. This novice knows for next time!
@mfladd Yeah! Praise from strangers on the internet! Thanks!!!
i am sorry your person was unable to respond.
but, damn! that is a fabulous box! and i want it!!!
@mick Yeah @bramby2 that was a great box!! And unfortunately the person who was to send to bramby2 never did so thus one of our backups is taking care of that. I feel bad that a newbe got screwed twice.
@mick As a newb to the exchange, this is high praise! Thanks!
@Kidsandliz I got your message about the Back-Up-Box!
I can’t wait to post the reveal for that one too! Thanks!
@bramby2 Theoretically it should be going out today. I accidentally gave the person sending it to you the wrong person to send it to (due to being in a hurry and two similar user names - my bad!!!) and that person is sending it on to you. I am not going to publicly recognize both of them until after your reveal so as to not spoil any surprises.
It’s here! It’s finally here! Back-Up Box arrived today! Huzzah!
In my excitement about the arrival of my box, I had to ask myself–does it seem like I’ve been waiting for this box for a really long time? Or, have I just been impatient like some kid waiting for Christmas…quietly stalking my poor mailman every day?
Well, I decided to do a bit of math (I geek out sometimes). I calculated how long it’s been since I sent off my box and today (the day of the blessed box arrival). 51 days! The number of days between Thanksgiving and Christmas in 2017? 32 days. I’ve waited longer for this box from a stranger on the internet than I do for my husband to run around like a maniac on December 23rd and buy me something overpriced. (That will probably have to be another long winded, albeit highly entertaining, post another time).
So now, after all this time…WHAT IS IN THE BOX??
First, my Beagle, Elton, is insanely curious about all packages and must have a thorough “once over.” Pictures of cute doggy looking at a box are included. The little shit figured out the Amazon delivery boxes may contain doggy toys and doggy treats and now demands all postage have a “sniff” for contraband upon entry into the house.
The first item pictured is an antique GOLF MAGAZINE small duffle bag. As noted, shoulder strap not included with this shipment. The “patina,” however is free of charge.
Next assortment of prizes is a children’s collection. It contains:
Burger King kids’ meal Barney Gumble figurine from The Simpson Movie (circa 2007)
Disney Princess Nite Lite
Plastic bag of plastic spiders (very meta)
“Legs the Frog” Beanie Babies Collection (date of birth: 4/25/1993)
This next set of items is for the “adults”:
Set of 6 pencil/crayon sharpeners
Flip flops—sized Ladies 9-11
Random phone cover for a really small phone
Pro Shade 3-in-1 Sport Visor—this thing is amazing! It can change from a visor to eyewear case in SECONDS!!! AND let’s not forget it can also be a glasses cord. I am truly overwhelmed with the usefulness of this!!!
Last is the NAME BRAND assortment:
WALGREENS brand personal pedometer (shown out of its box so you can experience its full awesomeness)
WALGREENS brand squishy truck…one of those stress balls cleverly disguised as a delivery truck from WALGREENS…it has been “pre-stressed” and the “patina” adds value
That’s it! That is what I waited for!
Finally, a big THANK YOU to @kidsandliz AND @baqui63. They are not the “Givers of the Box,” but have gone the extra mile to make sure a box ended up at my door today. There were no markings about who sent the box, so “tagging” will occur when that mystery gets solved!
P.S. While this WAS NOT in my box, it was delivered today and I thought I would give you all a taste of what I might have in store for the next exchange…now that I know how to play this game, IT IS ON!!
@bramby2 Yay! Glad you finally got a box!
UPDATE: The “Giver of the Box” is @cf1
Thank you for my Back-Up Box! It found its way to me!!
@mfladd
@cf1 Well done.
@cf1 nice work!
@cf1 Yes thank you for serving as a backup sender!
