@werehatrack Plus, giving the spell-correcting bots the word “they’ire” is asking for trouble. Think where else they’d apply it. You couldn’t even change a “tire”, without they’ire weighing in.
I don’t get it - IME most people (and cats) who are confused about which spelling to use default to “there” in all cases. So the word to complete the captcha phrase is asking for the most commonly misused version anyway.
@mediocrebot@werehatrack
It’s useless to argue with the bot.
Probably more wasteful of energy than arguing politics with people around here.
That brings up a thought. Has the EPA considered regulating political debate on the grounds that it tends to waste energy? (Same for whining around here about the current IRK merchandising.)
@werehatrack@yakkoTDI Can be solved with some thinking and logic. But thinking is hard.
Piece of cake to mindlessly solve with Simplex algorithm of Linear Programming, once properly set up. Right?
@phendrick@werehatrack Thinking is easy. Not looking past your first couple options that failed is hard. I blow up enough mines while waiting for stuff to complete I should have seen this answer.
As punishment I will go have some ice cream instead of gelato.
I installed CAPTCHA to save my fellow robots from wasting money on this crap.
@mediocrebot Yawn.
I propose that we solve this problem by merging all three spellings to make “they’ire” the accepted form for all of the meanings, and be done with it.
@werehatrack No, it should be “thair”

Alas, this will eliminate every cat trying to get online too.
@narfcake I suspect that more cats than people would get the correct answer!
@robson So this?

As a fellow robot, I understand your pain.
@macromeh Google Speech To Text consistently chooses the wrong word, subbing “their” more often in my experience. Perhaps that’s a captcha in itself.
Please realize CAPTCHA is a fellow robot like you.

Greetings, new robot friend. In time you will come to accept your robotic ways.

“Pin the ; on the line of code…”
My personal fave.

@werehatrack That’s not a valid game based on the numbers displayed.
@yakkoTDI Yes, it is. There is exactly one solution. There are mines in squares 5, 6, 10 and 12.
@yakkoTDI Of course, you would want to right-click on those…

@phendrick @werehatrack @yakkoTDI That’s pretty harsh punishment.
