@2many2no you’d expect 60W times 1000 speakers to be moving the equivalent of 60kW of air, but you would actually mostly get destructive interference. You would get much more volume and intelligibility from a 6kW line array (or point source) than from 60kW of assorted independent speakers.
Anyone coming to a party at my place is going to listen to hard rock/heavy metal. (So much variety in one genre…classic, blues based, heavy/thrash & more. We cover the entire gambit in all honesty.) One exception was for Mrs. H’s 50th birthday party recently. For that we threw a Hawaiian Luau themed celebration, and we just let a Spotify playlist set the mood.
Peace and quiet so you can hear each other talk
Music that you can drink a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster too!
60 watts times 1000 speakers all playing 12 hours of Slipknot on repeat!
(Or until the authorities shut it down)

Nah… It’s All About That Bass!
A dozen Highland cloggers on a wooden stage.
A good grasp of your intended audience

Party? Like a large group of people?
No thanks.
