A healthy layer of cats seem to work. Although I think a similar mass human female would be preferred. Still body heat. But some other additional features.
@unksol Hmm was talking about the cat. Of course standing in a hot water shower with a women would keep you warm. I did have one cat who didn’t mind water. He’d walk in the bathtub.
@Kidsandliz
Lol I know what you meant. I just grew up with three sisters. And have had girlfriends.
I sometimes wonder what women do without someone to clean the drain. Or do they just leave it cause they know we will. They can’t possibly leave it forever. Right?
@brainmist@Kidsandliz I’m 100% sure you are fully capable. Just in my personal experience there are some senarios where the women I’ve know choose not to. Maybe it’s just a tolerance level since we’re not used to it. Guys do all sorts of “gross” stuff in the bathroom. Goes both ways lol
@brainmist@unksol In one airb&b I stay in when I can in Houston it is usually full of men (I am often the only woman there) almost always all from India who are doing their residency thing before they can take the USA physician licensing exam. OMG that place is always gross (trade off is very cheap and has a shower so better than staying in my minivan) with 10 people in 1000 sf (multiple bunk beds in each room more youth hostel style). You need to wear flip flops in the bathroom and shower, bring your own dishes, silverware, pots and pans because those men are incapable of using soap on dishes… one from India gets to stay long term for free in exchange for alleged bathroom, floor, etc. cleaning.
Move to a place where the weather doesn’t suck in winter
OR
Set something on fire
I’m sure there are other less dramatic solutions, but those are speaking to me right now.
Two thin-furred dogs who love to snuggle under the covers.
Not great for actually sleeping though, since sometimes one kicks off the covers in the middle of the night, and both will wake me up to get back under the covers (one by grumping “RUDE” at me, the other with increasingly urgent poking).
@brainmist Many years ago, we had two cats that liked to tunnel under the covers and snuggle up against me. Neither of the current pair that has bedroom privileges does that, and the rest are in the non-bed half of the house. (Except for The Refugess, a momcat and her three kittenses who were handed off to us on Friday because they had no home in the apartment complex where they were hanging out, and temps were going to drop into the low forties on Friday night. All grey tabbies, all super-laid-back and completely safe to handle.)
Living in Florida.
@JT954 I’d rather freeze.
Dry hands and feet.
Lots and lots of bourbon.
Not getting cold.
Two comforters…and two warm, snuggly dogs trying to persuade you to stay under them.
@brainmist What about on 3 Dog Night?
@tweezak Probably I die, suffocated by affection.
In Arizona, we just hang outside!
Serial Caribbean cruises out of Florida
Cuddling
THIS. IS WHY. I DON’T LEAVE THE HOUSE.
Um… sex?
@shahnm Does that involve getting any batteries out of the refrigerator?
(for extra “warmth”)
@2many2no Guess that depends upon whether you need to power a device…
@2many2no @shahnm OK, if they’re out of the fridge, won’t that have a…er… chilling effect?
@2many2no @brainmist I imagine things will warm up eventually, if you do it right…
Synthetic microfleece.
@Kyeh Sheeeet! like in Mehcrofiber Sheets?
I think not.
100% Cotton flannel sheets. and down cover, maybe a Pendleton wool blanket. optionally add cats.
@pmarin Not sheets - clothes. I have all-cotton flannel sheets too. But sitting in my cold house I wear fluffy synthetic things. Like this shirt:
@pmarin A cat helps as well.
@Kyeh @pmarin OK, that’s a super cute shirt.
@brainmist @pmarin SUPER warm, too!
Remembering to remote the car to hot before going out.
A big wood stove
Fleece lined jeans. I bought 2 pair last year and I love them.
A healthy layer of cats seem to work. Although I think a similar mass human female would be preferred. Still body heat. But some other additional features.
@unksol And they even leave fur behind for you so that you still have a light coat when they finally get off you.
@Kidsandliz yes… Women do tend to leave their hair around. Especially in the shower drain.

@Kidsandliz @unksol Yes, it’s true. Women are constitutionally incapable of cleaning drains. If we’re single, we inevitably drown. It’s quite tragic.
@brainmist @Kidsandliz I’m 100% sure you are fully capable. Just in my personal experience there are some senarios where the women I’ve know choose not to. Maybe it’s just a tolerance level since we’re not used to it. Guys do all sorts of “gross” stuff in the bathroom. Goes both ways lol

@brainmist @Kidsandliz bachelor’s gonna bachelor
@brainmist @Kidsandliz @unksol
Maybe bending over to get the hair our of the drain would get her a “bonus” she didn’t really want at that time.

Always actually dress for the weatherHeated bed.
Changes in latitude, Changes in attitude.
Not going inside to the A/C… I live in Florida.
Body fat.
A big blanket to carry around with me everywhere around the house like a medieval cloak
@StormeTheCat Or…an actual cloak.
(Cloaks are very awesome for many reasons, not the least of which is cloak battles.)
VAN GOGH! MANGO! TANGO! AWESOME!
Duh. Having heat.
Either move away from northeastern Oregon or layer clothing.

@brainmist I have a cat who does “clawing” at the covers to tunnel.
