When I lived in Hawaii (Kailua), I met the guy who flew the chopper scenes for Magnum P.I. Funny thing, the networks paid the non-stars so little, he was never able to quit his day job. (Firefighter.)
Weird market for rotary wing pilots. Every ex-military aviator thinks his retirement job will be shuttling tourists, so there's actually a glut of licensed pilots there
@SSteve took a bit, and it isn't an episode where he says incoming (hmmm... how does one paste the link with the timecode in it? you want ~58 seconds in):
@baqui63 While helicopter(s) are in the opening credits and are least mentioned in many episodes, I wouldn't say that M*A*S*H* is "copter themed". But it certainly is at least as much "copter themed" as Apocalypse Now. So , yeah. "M*AS*H* is the greatest 'copter-themed movie or TV show.
Two shows that are long forgotten, Whirlybirds, probably thre very first TV show featuring our beloved choppers. And Chopper 1, a spin off from EMERGENCY!
@Deanmeh Thank you re: "Chopper One". I knew there was a chopper rescue series on in that timeframe, but couldn't for the life of me recall what the name was. Are you 100% sure that it was a "Emergency!" spin-off?! "Emergency!" was on NBC and "Chopper One" was on ABC.
GET TO THE CHOPPAAAA!!!!!!!
And if you haven't seen it... Spend a couple minutes to enjoy this:
@curtise
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

M*A*S*H
@baqui63 You beat me to it. A cursory search didn't turn up any video of Radar saying "incoming!" Isn't that what he used to say?

There is no question: Apocalypse Now: Ride of the Valkyries

Good Morning Vietnam. Robin Williams at his best.

@2many2no Ok, I admit liked Magnum P.I.
