@plymouthdave It’s not the units. It’s the implied precision. The griddle plate–being stamped or cast and machined–sure, call it out to 0.01 inches.
The cord, on the other hand, would be incredibly difficult to measure to the nearest 0.01", let alone manufacture to that precision.

I don’t need one, but I’m happy that on the last promo picture they show some delicious tofu on the grill!! In my strive towards better health, this has become one of my go-to protein alternatives (& properly cooked, it’s absolutely as delicious as any chicken).
@user15464435 These were previously sold by QVC/HSN so you can find a video out there on them (we aren’t allowed to link to those directly). There are listings for $49.99, but they’re “Renewed” condition.
@troy@user15464435 There are also reviews of it on QVC. Here’s the summary: 26 reviews, average is 3.5 stars, 8 one- and two-star reviews, biggest complaint looks like it’s about the lid not being stable in any position. The other notable complaint is about it tripping circuit breakers, but I’m guessing that’s because it draws 15 amps (1800W / 120V = 15A) and it being used on a 15 amp circuit instead a 20 amp circuit (which is what I think kitchens should have).
For $25 (I still have one $5 coupon to use from an IRK), I was thinking about getting this, but the lid thing and a couple other quality control issues together is the deal breaker.

Sure that’s not an old scanner?
@mossygreen beat me to it. I was like, flatbed scanner!?!
@mossygreen @Num1Zero Yeah, that’s what I came to say too!
Lousy as a scanner. Destroyed my document and didn’t send it to the PC.
/showme a flatbed document scanner that doubles as a griddle
Yeah, that didn’t make any sense. Same prompt again:
/showme a flatbed document scanner that doubles as a griddle
Better, even though it somewhat looks like an AIO instead.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
/showme a cat about to cook a penguin on an electric griddle
@mossygreen “Cannot scan, out of ink.”
@narfcake You need a black and white scanner for penguins.

Reversible?
So we can cook food and then uncook it after?
@OnionSoup YES!!! Fried fish and sushi in one device.
This is a tanning bed for meat. It helps your meat look dark and sexy.
The cord is 40.67” long? Really?
@plymouthdave Yessir, 1033.018 millimeters
@plymouthdave @troy That’s one nautical meter…
@plymouthdave @shahnm @troy
Or 0.05135101 chains.

@plymouthdave @shahnm @troy @yakkoTDI
Or 0.607 smoots.
I legitimately thought it was a scanner for photos/documents, based on the first photo
Feels sketch that there aren’t any reviews on Amazon of it
@shirlema everyone that bought it died. The “reversible” must mean instead of you cooking the meat, it cooks you
@OnionSoup sounds legit, don’t reverse the polarity, got it

George Foreman barely in the grave, and all these contenders start showing up in the grilling ring?
@phendrick The fear of the wrecking ball punch is gone.
@phendrick
This might be the weirdest context I’ve learned about someone’s passing.
@phendrick literally came here just for this comment.
@jo2y @phendrick Did you hear we sent men to the Moon?
A dead fish has more life in it than some knuckle dragger typing into an “AI” prompt.
@Rasputin :
@narfcake
Well now you know…
I thought it was a scanner too… lmao
y’all will just find any reason not to go outside, huh?
Sorry, I’ll be outside with a beer

@tohar1 I think you meant to say “properly cooked AND SEASONED”
@ekw Well said, I guess I include that in the “cooking” process. Seasoning is CRITICAL to eating tofu.
I would avoid this one, boys. There is such a thing as too cheap.
@AaronLeeJohnson
… Why do you even shop here?
Major markdown and no reviews on Amazon. Is it just that no one was interested in this product, or is there something else we should know about it?
@GospelX Subject to combust at low speeds.
How about selling a panini grill? Mine died.
What about smoke in the house?
I can’t find a review of it anywhere, it is out of stock almost everywhere, and most places have a price listed well under $100.

Anyone in blue jeans cooking scares me
Oh, sorry northern folk. I believe in you
Everyone here would be old enough to remember dot matrix printers, but y’all went with scanners?
/showme a dot matrix printer
/giphy dot matrix from reboot

@mediocrebot that’s actually a pretty awesome anachronistic stew
FOOLS! TOOLS! JEWELS! AWESOME!
@mediocrebot That first one looks like something that might go with an IBM 1130.
