In the spirit of T. Coraghessan Boyle’s story, “If The River Was Whisky”…
There are ~4.5 oz in a margarita (not frozen ,which would be more) and 128 oz/gallon, so the Great Lakes would be the equivalent of 1.71x1021 margaritas.
Now a margarita (classic, of course) is 1 fl oz tequila and 1.5 fl oz triple sec, plus some lime juice (~1 oz) and salt.
So we would need to replace 7.3x1018 gallons of that nasty water with tequila and an additional 1.097x1019 gallons water with triple sec. If you wanted to have the Lime Juice mixed in then one would need ~7x1018 gallons of LJ.
Then the Lakes would be truly GREAT!
Just think in the winter, there would be unlimited frozen margaritas! Not to mention spring, summer and fall which would also be unlimited of course.
P.S. I can’t figure out how to express superscripts in this dang format using HTML tags. If anyone knows better, please repost with the proper display.
