@PlacidPenguin Friday around 11am - 8pm on Saturday no power for me, but it’s been varying a lot by neighborhood around here. There are definitely still downed lines on some roads.
No power sucks because we also lose heat (gas, but the furnace isn’t just a plug-in thing so I can’t easily connect it to an inverted on the car) and (well) water.
@PlacidPenguin@Seeds
We have a wood burner in the basement for a backup, a gas kitchen stove, and a generator to run the well pump and refrigerator. Oh, and a couple cans of gas in the garage after that time when we realized the local gas station also loses power at the same time.
It just takes a little planning ahead.
Now my area is expected to receive 11-15 inches of snow (I just checked).
I noticed some power lines not far from me (on a different grid), which had cracked lines, and the chunks of the lines with attached power cables just limping at the top of the lines.
Those issues have been resolved, and some neighbors have been dealing with dead trees on their properties.
Everything is in bloom here too. But you know it’s gonna freeze again, always does. But it has spurred a lot of spring fever in the area. The peach people are panicking.
Waterproof spf 50 every day. Do it.
@CaptAmehrican
So very wish I had.
I didn’t do this one much, but my youth was spent during the height of the “baby oil as a tanning aid” practices.
I was just outdoors constantly.
@CaptAmehrican
As a serious sailor and boating person, you have a fav?
Some depts of the City of FW provide outdoor employees and considered with all they want if this (I don’t know if other depts use the same brand):
It snowed here overnight.
@fibrs86
Its snowing here right now; 6 inches tonight I’m told.
I did see buds on the pussy willow in the back yard this afternoon though.
As windy as it is here today, we are going to blow all the way through Oklahoma and land in Texas. What a scary thought.
@Barney
Want a 2014 University of Texas Longhorn calendar to distract yourself?
@PlacidPenguin That would scare me even more.
@Barney
Still better than looking at horses.
I got a bit of sunburn yesterday, out doing some gardening.
A week ago sunday it hit 80 and full sun here it was so nice, now we’re back to reality it’s in the 40s and raining.
ummmm…two words for you: North East.
@mfladd
Are you getting more or less than me though?
@PlacidPenguin Luckily, I’m getting rain. The snow starts just north of me in DE.
We just got internet back today, and they’re expecting another 8-12 inches of snow tomorrow. Still beats summer heat in the south.
@Seeds
Did you have a lack of power in addition to no internet.

@Steve7654 meh. I just grilled and snuggled with @polksaladannie. Not a bad way to spend the weekend.
