@aetris Simba’s birthday was October 4th, St. Francis Day, and I took him to the Blessing at a lovely little church in the valley every year. The priest there is an animal lover and active in animal rescue, I chose that church because I know his blessing to be heartfelt and not just rote. I’m happy to accept blessings from anyone of any faith.
@PocketBrain Bunyips are one of my favorite mythological creatures. When I was a kid, we got a giant map of Australia from some gift shop near Kangaroo Valley. The map could be colored in like a coloring bool. A Bunyip was hidden among the reeds in a swamp and I’ll never forget discovering it for the first time.
I am willing to admit possibility of things like the Yeti, in remote regions with few cameras, but there is no Bigfoot in the Pacific Northwest, nor Appalachia. The are just too many people with cameras for us to not have a single decent image
Note though that the question is past tense - likely to HAVE existed. Dinosaurs existed, lake monsters existed, shaggy hominids, large cats, avian megafauna - they all EXISTED, the question is, how recently? I mean, sure, in the '70s…
Gotta go local and vote snallygaster.
@brhfl Neat! Never heard of it before.
@brhfl And where is it when we need it?
I’ve always wanted to bring a chupacabra to one of those weird “animal blessings” I occasionally see signs for.
“Weird”?!? I take my dog to the Blessing of the Animals every year.
And it’s working, I think. Anyway his head doesn’t spin so much anymore, and the vomiting is WAY down.
@aetris
Bless you, my kid.

I voted for the birds because… Terror Birds!
Either that, or Australia’s Bunyip because…

Well now I don’t know about that…
Irk
Some kind of giant sea monster seems way more likely than any on this list. I mean “sea” as in ocean, not large lake.

@aetris ahhh, I did not read correctly
@katylava - That was their plan:
If you’d like to play a game about Cryptozoology (which is the study of these mythical creatures), check out Cryptozookeeper: http://www.joltcountry.com/index.php/robbsherwin_videogame/cryptozookeeper
