@compunaut I love Taos. Fun mountain! I was there just before they built the lift to Kachina Peak. Our group had to hike to get to it. Beautiful area, some of the best food I’ve ever had on a ski trip. I highly recommend La Cueva Cafe in town. Bit of a cute hole in the wall with delicious food. Also Taos Pizza Outback. One of those places with the rolled, braided crust and it was amazing. I’m salivating thinking about those two places. Then again, I can’t really complain. That same week I’ll be skiing the three valleys in Val Thorens, France. I’m running up to Windham, NY this weekend and we’re off to Big Sky on the 18th. Hope you have an awesome time!
@andyw this was originally scheduled for 2021 and that one had been planned since 2019. I’m triple vaxxed, which I know doesn’t mean anything to this variant. This cruise line is also only sailing at no more than 60% capacity. Getting tested before leaving home and again at the port.
@ironcheftoni@zhicks1987 Ironically, my family and I generally do. I started the sentence to assure the readers that I am vaccinated and then wanted to be sure readers knew my whole family is (including, BTW, my 5 yo granddaughter) and did not want to revise the sentence, as revison is difficult!
The usual inconsiderates at work saying ‘holidays are over, stop goofing off and get back to work’ after one of the busier, overloaded November/Decembers at work in years.
@ThunderChicken The rough stretch is coming for those of us who get the federal holidays. Nothing between mid-February and the end of May. I shouldn’t complain; I used to work in a grocery store and the only day we were closed is Christmas.
@tinamarie1974 Ours are mostly scattered through the early half:
Feb: daughter and MIL
March: wife and FIL
April: daughter
May: daughter and grandson
June: anniversary
July: son
Then nothing until my birthday in Dec.
@werehatrack it is expensive and exhausting. Also, just too much cake. Six parties and cake between 12/9 and 1/19, not to mention Christmas and New Years.

It’s a new year. Be careful not to get it on you; you don’t know what it’s got.
Getting some sleep provided a Mehrathon doesn’t start soon.
My ski trips!
@cinoclav Mar6-12. Taos, NM, unless plans change. 48"-60" base with a couple feet of snow in the last week.

My cruise vacation in 5 days and my birthday on the 15th!
@ironcheftoni Where to?
@ironcheftoni Cruising now??? Yikes, you are brave-or something. My friend had his May cruise on a relatively small ship cancelled by the company.
@Kyeh Mexico, Honduras and Belize leaving from New Orleans

@ironcheftoni Have a great time, and continue to be safe! (Just for the record, I and my family are also all fully vaccinated).

My anniversary! This year marks my 25th!!!
@jst1ofknd Our 35th is on Valentines Day
@jst1ofknd Nice, but you’re a slacker! We’ve been together for 52 years and married for nearly 40!
@andyw @jst1ofknd Oh, yeah? Well, my parents just celebrated their 60th anniversary in September. So there!
@jst1ofknd @lisagd Please congratulate them for me! (But are they on Meh? :))
@andyw @jst1ofknd @lisagd My parents will be celebrating their 60th in Feb.
“Celebrating” = making plans for outdoor event in June/July.
@andyw @jst1ofknd No, they can’t handle anything as exciting as that.
@andyw @compunaut @jst1ofknd Congratulations to them!
I genuinely like the Superb Owl jokes enough that I look forward to the Super Bowl.
@brennyn Puppy Bowl!
@brennyn @duodec and Kitten bowl!

The normality and sense of accomplishment of work. (Well, I like my career)
I’m just looking forward to getting this damn snow out of my driveway.
Divorce from an aging lothario, replacing him with a fierce giant cat!

@Ziggie A return to that would be nice.

My 69th birthday in 3 weeks…yahoo!?!
@texmarc Congratulations, youngster! (See my reply to an above post).
Hopefully the next week of vacation my husband takes.
Retirement!
MLK Day and then, what seems like a life time away, Memorial Day.
@kittykat9180 Don’t forget Presidents Day! I’m in the same boat. Maybe a short vacay is called for.
@lisagd, I don’t get president’s day as a paid holiday.
@kittykat9180 Ugh, sorry to hear that. The government added Juneteenth as a federal holiday starting this year. Hope you get that one.
@lisagd, nope, not that one either.
But this year we get 2 days for 4th of July, the usual 2 days for thanksgiving, and 7 days for our winter break.
@kittykat9180 Ah, see, we don’t get the day after TG or a winter break. It all balances out, I guess.
Finishing the family birthdays. Everyone has a birthday in either December or January.

They collectively have my condolences. Mine was just under two weeks ago. A close friend’s is the following day.
@werehatrack it is expensive and exhausting. Also, just too much cake. Six parties and cake between 12/9 and 1/19, not to mention Christmas and New Years.
@tinamarie1974 I’m the guy who just gets everyone a card and shrugs. If I really like you, you’ll know it. I love all of my family, though.
Baseball, I hope.
@ahacksaw Cardinals look terrible.
@zhicks1987 So do the Yankees, at least relatively.
