@Dankk One prank told to me today by @kyle was to attach it to a water pick that's loaded and pointed toward the door. When person walks in it the motion sensor kicks in and the pick sprays them.
@GiantTarget Hmmm... that alone has almost sold me. I just need a way to make these trigger a woot screaming monkey: my cats don't give a crap about the blender, but a woot screaming money makes them run and hide.
@GiantTarget That's a great idea. See, I was thinking that almost anything I used this for, the result would be that it would just be another reason I want to kill the cats.
You can use it with FAN or air conditioner in midnight of hot summer. Every time you ransack, Fan goes on and you will be cool. (sorry for poor english)
@Gaster Would the fan set off the motion sensor? So once it was on it would stay on. I bought it more for the timer than the motion sensor. My timers keep breaking and I need them for coming home in the dark all winter.
huh. i was just talking about getting some motion detecting switches for the new lamps we just installed in our bedroom. Sign me up for a couple, and if the motion detection sucks, then I'll just use them as remote power switches for something.
A few years ago, my teenage daughter had trouble waking up on time. I made a blinding light alarm clock with a Harbor freight timer and 6 "100 watt equivalent" fluorescent light bulbs, 6 socket adapters, and 2 large power strips. She used it for several months.
That style timer knows the difference between a weekday and a weekend.
I had a relay die in a couple of the Harbor Freight timers over the last few years, so the problem is not unique to the version being sold here. The wimpy little relays don't last like the larger high reliability industrial ones. Those relays also cost $40 each.
@hamjudo exactly right on switches. with everything solid state people go crazy over an actual moving part that wears out. (our gain in this case)
I'd guess problem is you need a latching relay here due to AC power flow. I think even as you move up in price you get limited lifecycle on latching relays. Someday maybe they'll figure out better tech for motion relays. Until then this is par for the course - motion sensors have limited lives.
@hamjudo I also had some china freight timers. Those things are awesome but i also had a relay failure. It wasn't the relay that failed but a solder joint. Being the uber cheapskate, i took it apart and found it. A few bucks saved, woohoo.
@snapster Interesting. I've had the same motion sensor light on my porch for over 20 years. To be fair it's off a lot of the time, so maybe that's why it has lasted.
@moondrake It probably uses an electronic switch instead of a relay. Those are often have a much smaller rating, and they are not suitable for inductive loads. On the plus side, they can go for decades controlling lights.
I must say that I am very happy I am receiving a Sylvania emotion sensing mouse. Finally a mouse that senses when I feel meh and goes to web sites that emit an incandescent calm. The three buttons do look a little small, but they are obviously not used very much because of the emotion sensing technology.
I bought in. I currently have two motion-sensing night lights, one by the front door (so I don't trip over anything when I come in the house at night) and one in the hallway (so I don't trip over anything when I take a whiz in the middle of the night) - they're handy, but they don't put out much light. I'm going to try replacing the one by the front door, at the least, to one of these hooked up to a more serious lamp.
They didn't want to put something up today that would sell much because they have to pack and ship 1000+ fukubukuro bags. That's going to keep them busy for a few days.
Dear administrator, I have a suggestion. This probably was mentioned earlier. If you include 1) Dual voltage option, 2) Volume, weight in product in the product specs for every deals, I will love meh more and more. I'm interested in today's product, but it doesn't seem compatible with 220v. Thank you.
Do I need this? - NO... Do I like this? -meh! Do I think this is a 'deal'? - meh... Is it purple? - No... Will it charge my 220V iPod? - No Does it suck? - probably... Did I buy this? - No...but a.. 'frivolous-combative-bigfoot' DID! Just a pissed off reaction to dozing at midnight and missing yesterdays fukuburako!
When it gets insanely cold, we turn on a heat lamp in the garage for the cats. It shows up on the electric bill. A cat activated heater would pay for itself pretty quickly if we have another winter with subzero (F) weather.
I'm thinking of connecting my TV to one of these for when I watch workout videos. If I stop moving...the TV stops. Therefore, in order to get a good workout...I'd have to keep moving. Ingenious!
@Kidsandliz Yep! I can’t win for loosing. I was soooo sad that I missed the FuKubukuru yesterday because I didn’t anticipate the importance of the Sept 17 tweet, and that I didn’t stay up for it. I set my alarm for 11 pm CT last night. I’ll even go ahead an admit that I didn’t even let the page fully load on the phone before I clicked buy it. I didn’t even know what it was or how much! I just tapped on buy it. Then when it said would you like another I tapped yes until that stopped showing up. Not until my cart was full did I go and see what the hell it was! HAHAHA Got my three and then went back to sleep. California didn’t beat me to them this time!!! I know, I know, I am not right. Has anyone set up a place for MEH ANONOMUS? Giggle

quickest meh i've ever meh'd. meh
Meh. wtf - this place was so hard to find.
intriguing since I now don't pay extra shipping ;)
@duodec Yeah that's the first feeling, then you'll curse it for ordering so darn much! VMP forever!!!!!!
Decent price, but the reviews say this thing is doomed to fail. I like the concept but will probably pass. A Meh deal for sure!
Nope nope nope, not even for $5
So now Meh is an outlet store.
@editorkid well done, sir.
@editorkid You're really plugged into the goings on around here.
@editorkid @Thumperchick Good thing they're not charging more.
@KDemo I'm amped up about this sale.
@editorkid I can feel your energy in the motion of that.
@editorkid Way to sock it to them, kid.
@editorkid Ohm my God, watt a shocking comment. That is revolting. You're all grounded.
I'm trying to think of a good use for this. Any creative ideas?
@Dankk One prank told to me today by @kyle was to attach it to a water pick that's loaded and pointed toward the door. When person walks in it the motion sensor kicks in and the pick sprays them.
@denboy And with a couple small changes, that setup easily turns into a bidet. In for three!
@Dankk If you have a cat, you can teach it not to get onto countertops by plugging in a blender to this device.
@GiantTarget Hmmm... that alone has almost sold me. I just need a way to make these trigger a woot screaming monkey: my cats don't give a crap about the blender, but a woot screaming money makes them run and hide.
@Dankk Halloween is just around the corner. Scary stuff works wonders attached to motion sensors. In for 3.
@GiantTarget That's a great idea. See, I was thinking that almost anything I used this for, the result would be that it would just be another reason I want to kill the cats.
@Nuke you need commission, I wouldn't have bought until now. pointless-husky-army.
@GiantTarget A more expensive version, but I use the SSSCAT system with my cat and it works very well. http://www.amazon.com/Ssscat-PDT00-13914-SSSCAT-Cat-Training/dp/B000RIA95G/
Maybe useful
I dunno what Imma use this for but for $5 I'll take one.... for science.
@cjrhoades lol you made my day. "For science"
@cjrhoades um yeah is the study you are going to do about the science of wasting money?
Texans are even buying this! Oh my god!
@JasonKim Hey, we like magic laser thingys too, you know...
Seems like a nightmare if you have cats. Or maybe the ultimate way to drive a cat insane. Hmm...
@cblack you have sane cats???!!!
Can I use it in 220V?
Yes, i know that i need a pair of adopters, 11 to 00 and 00 to 11.
What i curious is that with a pair of adopters, can i use it in 220V ?
@Gaster My guess is Hell No! 10 amp on 120v isn't much
•White plastic "complements any decor", Sylvania says
Off to Ikea !!
Lamps? Who uses lamps? Now if you had a motion sensing flint for my torches...
Will this work with a Mac?
You can use it with FAN or air conditioner in midnight of hot summer. Every time you ransack, Fan goes on and you will be cool. (sorry for poor english)
@Gaster Good idea.
@Gaster AC probably too much amps.
@Kyser_Soze oh, i missed it.
@Gaster Would the fan set off the motion sensor? So once it was on it would stay on. I bought it more for the timer than the motion sensor. My timers keep breaking and I need them for coming home in the dark all winter.

Thought about it ... but alas, the number of failures says it's meh.
The lights in my house already turn on and off by themselves...
@Kleineleh Themselves do it ? Here it's Notme.
@Kleineleh It must be them elves.
@halnwheels @Kleineleh or ghosts...
I'd probably be in for one if it were grounded, even with what looks like a high failure rate. But it's not, so... meh.

Got mine this time! CA Not getting me this time, I set my alarm! Now back to sleep. :p Hahaha
@silverqueen and look now 11+ hours later and they are still available...
Meh. Looked interesting until I saw all the bad reviews. Guess I'll have to pass on this now.
What the hell...meh. Since I missed the fukuburako.
WOW, interesting site, hardly mediocre! What bad reviews??
@Berto13 - Amazon. There's a link above under "Price Check".

@cfg83 Something go lost in translation: It's not a mouse. But you could plug your computer/mouse into it.
@ceagee Ok, but I don't see anything about the movie Lost In Translation in the specs. Why would a mouse come with a free movie?
@cfg83 The mouse is a lie

@Albright I don't know how serious that lamp is, but with this attached, maybe it will lighten up a little.

@SSteve Over 1300+ of this item already sold.........
@Stallion I guess they are gluttons for punishment. Or at least for punishing the shipping dept.
@SSteve This is true. I can only imagine what the shipping facility looks like, a bunch of crap everywhere!
Worth $5 just for electronic components.

I love to visit Meh site to see what's for today.
Very interesting selections of goods.
Good job and good luck!
혹시 220v 도 지원 하나요???
@popokiss 안 할걸로 보입니다. 검색함 해봐야겠네요
@popokiss 바로 위의 구글 링크로만 보면 120V네요
Come one, Meh, please. Please find something useful.
I'm even tired to click another meh. Meh.
운영자님. 제안드립니다.
전에도 이야기가 나왔던것 같습니다.
Spec에
1. Free Volt 여부

Now I want a Payday candy bar at 8:00 in the morning. Fortunately I'm already at work and cannot purchase one. You are evil meh photographer.
You could put a couple of these in your attic with a loud radio and bright light to keep squirrels or rodents out.
@phatmass Yeah - bats too.. You have got to be a little batty to get sucked in on this one....
이 상품 220v 지원하나요???
@codac no 없음 (blame@studerc and google if the korean is wrong)
@Kidsandliz Good job!
Do I need this? - NO...
Do I like this? -meh!
Do I think this is a 'deal'? - meh...
Is it purple? - No...
Will it charge my 220V iPod? - No
Does it suck? - probably...
Did I buy this? - No...but a..
'frivolous-combative-bigfoot' DID!
Just a pissed off reaction to dozing at
midnight and missing yesterdays fukuburako!
This amount of meh hurts my soul.

So now we know why North Dakotans ignored the fukubukuro yesterday... they were waiting for this.
So wait... It's plugged into the wall, but also requires those obnoxious watch batteries?
@retswerb The batteries run the clock and make it so it won't lose its settings. You can program the unit when it isn't plugged in.
No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
@jrwofuga right on schedule. What's going to happen to us when we do offer something in Georgia Red? WHAT THEN?
Agree with the other comment "quickest meh I ever did". Didn't even take the time to read the reviews. Also went for the VMP ...
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to buy things that I didn't think I needed.
Much cheaper than the 6 core Mac Pro with 3 Thunderbird monitors that I just bought. Almost the same buzz.
In for 3! What a BRIGHT idea. <--see what I did there?
@booksuppliesplu are we we so dim you have to motion to your joke?
I'm thinking of connecting my TV to one of these for when I watch workout videos. If I stop moving...the TV stops. Therefore, in order to get a good workout...I'd have to keep moving. Ingenious!
@booksuppliesplu I would just take it as a sign I was through and take a nap.
@Kidsandliz

@silverqueen that would be anonmeh I think
@Kidsandliz Technically - Anonymeh But we'll give you partial credit.
That last pic made me spray soda out my face-holes!
@Homechicken Well, that's kind of disturbing.
@Cinoclav I didn't know we were bought out by Myspace.
@JonT
@JonT Do you have any idea how few gifs there are that show something besides regular tears coming out of that particular face hole?!
@Cinoclav
How did the squirrel get the wrapper off the Pay Day bar.....that sneaky bastard
In the end, these things sucked.
