Stupid Google Games - the search for low numbers
3You know those games that someone tells you about and they're so excited and enthusiastic that it draws you in but then when they start explaining how it works it sounds terrible and boring and you have no idea how it could actually be fun? This is one of those.
Try to find the lowest possible number that you can that returns no google results.
It's a lot harder than you think...
No leading zeroes, no decimals, no negative numbers or other nonsense, only 0-9.
How low can you go?
EDIT: USE VERBATIM SEARCH, OR THIS LINK: https://www.google.com/webhp?hl=en&complete=0&tbo=1&num=50&newwindow=1&tbs=li:1

@JonT I think this is the saddest denial-of-service attack on google yet.
It's all your fault.
Damn it; it's going to be a long month... I need an Urkel did i do that

weird, I get a result for this one.
@dave, just noticed your response to this one. I don't get anything in Chrome or IE with a Verbatim turned on.
It's beaten later anyway...
So i guess hexadecimal numbers are out? Meh.

THIS IS THE CURRENT LOWEST NUMBER I HAVE FOUND USING VERBATIM SEARCH.
@dave It seems like the contest was inherently flawed - verbatim search seems like it was the right thing to use, but wasn't in the rules.
Because I'm a complete dork I ranked all the answers so far. @BillLehecka leads by far with the only 10 digit number. @JonT is the loser by far with the only 20 digit number.
10001114146
@Dave Oh darn, I must have added another number in there somewhere. It was 10 digits.
Clarification. Does it count if you get google hits that are partials of your number? Like if your number is part of a hyphenated something or a portion of your number is listed and they are guessing if that is your number ?
Has to return absolutely no results.

Damnit, beat already!
You know the irony of this game is that these numbers now WILL show up in Google Results...
Woah. Iron-y
and now I'm really worried I've searched something that will put me on a watch list.
a lot of "foreign" characters showed up in my search results.
If you put enough leading zeros before it, 1 is the lowest positive integer that returns no results:
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000
000001
One less zero produces results.
No leading zeros. :-)
@Saramwrap good plan, but leading zeroes were only good on Day Zero. Today they've been banned faster than meh.com on my employer's network!
Fair enough. I didn't promise reading comprehension today.
Your search - 2291224249 - did not match any documents.
Suggestions:
Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
Try different keywords.
Try more general keywords.

FYI: 1509056213 is the current leader so try to beat that.
Don't draw attn to me! I don't like competition. =)
well at least I got 10 digits.
I really hate that Every-Number website
This is p. fun though :3
Did anyone have google make them prove they weren't a bot for punching in so many numbers ?
not yet
Ha. I did. Then again searching real stuff!
twice!

About 812,000 results (0.40 seconds) What's w/ all the fakers?
Did you at least have a good time?
I figure if you're gonna be googling random numbers anyway, why not google one that provides a nice little jingle to go along with it?
my brain is so fried w/ numbers I didn't catch the Jenny thing . oops
No negative numbers...
Thanks - I went straight to it after seeing the example

What Google are you looking at?
Do we have a flawed game?
Hmmm...Google clearly has a kabillion servers out there, results must be indexed differently depending on what server farm you're hitting.
That would definitely complicate things.
0 results for me
Only get search results if I change it to a verbatim search, maybe that's your default.
1447056120
I'm in Upstate NY, where are you other guys at? That would give credence to the multiple server farm cache thingie...
East MA
Dallas, TX
So I'm likely on the same Google server farm as the Meh guys. :)
Not positive, but I think "verbatim" option should make it the same for everyone. Maybe.
1447056117
I have a feeling we are going to chase all day...
@jont you jerk..i spent about 1 hour doing this...I CANT TAKE IT!!!
It's also a fun game to play against yourself, just to see how low you can go.
we should be doing this on bing and getting reward points at least...
I hope this page is not indexed by Google because once you type in your guess, it will suddenly become part of the results and be excluded as a potential answer.
I think I give up on this...good luck, all.

I never thought I'd have a reason to hate www.integernumber.com
Or all-numbers.com...
If you'd like to geek out over the frequency of numbers on the internet, there's actually a referred journal article in Physica about the distribution as it stood in 2005. Obviously, the internet has grown substantially in the intervening decade, but I'd be willing to bet that their "view of the array of numbers used by humans as a highly non-equilibrium and inhomogeneous system" is still largely accurate.

Well played
Got very lucky. I didn't have that until after you undercut me!
When you click 'verbatim' do you get results?
I'm not seeing a 'verbatim' option in Chrome.
Found 'verbatim'. Chrome does return results with it selected.
I tried 1006613319 in IE and it returned 1 result without 'verbatim'.
@mediobarkre You should find it when you click on 'search tools'.
Clearly, searching with and without verbatim mode enabled makes a big difference in the number of results - Google's usual default is to do all sorts of fancy interpreting searches (remember: Google thinks it knows what you want better than you do) . Verbatim takes that away and leaves you with a simple search for exactly what you entered - nothing more, nothing less.
To me, verbatim mode would have definitely evened the playing field if specified in the rules. But very few people know about verbatim mode, let alone have it enabled in their Google searches. To have it applied after the contest's end in judgement... it doesn't feel like a very even playing field. I say this without a horse in the race at this point, just making the observation.
Yeah, luckily there's no prize here, so we could just declare that everyone loses (especially us) and try again with verbatim later.
Meh: Where Everyone Loses
So many google search links from @dave, pretty obvious that the Roombas got to him.
Did anyone else get a message from google before it would let you search? Mine said something along the lines of "suspicious activity" and made me enter the text into a box before it would give me results. I guess I was spamming searches too fast
If you're doing repetitive searches less than a second apart, it assumes you're a Roomba.
And everyone knows, Roombas can't solve a Captcha.
