I tend to do that when I am feeling overwhelmed. I am watching the Waltons now. I hated it when I was a kid but now that I’m older it’s actually a pretty good show.
Going to finish Hawaii Five-0 someday. Love all the “period correct” details since it was all filmed on location and no Hollywood sets. Well… until the original creator died, then it went downhill pretty fast and i struggle with those seasons.
@walarney buddy’s dad was a background extra in one of those…
During 'Nam, he was stationed in Hawaii for a time (Marine Corps, I assume @ Pearl)
one day, he and a couple buddy’s were walking down the street in uniform, and stumbled upon the film crew.
Producer/Director/whatever asked them if they’d like to be in the show, heck yes!
@earlyre@walarney grew up in Hawaii, in the 60’s and 70’s. Appeared in a few episodes. Hated watching it because they were jumping all around the island, driving downtown, take a turn and they are in Hawaii kai, more than 10 miles away.
Another reason that I didn’t like the show was Jack Lord hated kids! He was a friend of my dad, and he was very vocal about not wanting kids around.
Technically all I do is binge watch TV shows, as I never watch a show anymore until it is fully done filming. That way I don’t have to get upset if a great show gets cancelled midway.
But for most recent examples, I finally watched “Better Call Saul.” Worth it.
And after finally watching the movie “In the Heat of the Night” (worth it!), I then sought out and watched the subsequent TV series with that Archie Bunker guy (also worth it).
A friend and I are working our way through Northern Exposure 2-3 episodes at a time. Just as great as it was 30+ yrs ago.
West Wing calms me when politics is just too much.
I was watching season 6 of The Mentalist when I realized that the 2 FBI agents giving a briefing were Pedro Pascal and Emily Swallow. Who knew the FBI employed Mandalorians?
Las Vegas, I start one and I’m hooked and end up watching nothing but that for days.
We still have cable (along with a lot of streaming networks) boyfriend likes flipping through channels and I don’t argue so I tend to watch what’s on tv a lot.
Considering the 1st was its 25th anniversary, I’ve been watching a lot of the older seasons of SpongeBob SquarePants. I grew up with the show and the humor in the early episodes never gets old.
@pakopako My first series I binge watched was 24 with Kiefer Sutherland and that was before streaming was even a thing. I had to go Blockbuster and rent seasons of the show.

My boyfriend likes to watch old Love Boat episodes. So many old movie stars show up in cameos.
I have box sets of a few shows on DVD for when I’m feeling nostalgic. I also binge old series on streaming from time to time.
I like to (re-)watch select sitcoms from a few years back. With a couple of exceptions, most of the recent fare is rarely funny (and too PC/preachy).

I am rewatching a bunch of old shows. Finished the Golden Girls and now watching Designing Women
picking back up where i left off a few months ago with Cheers.
The Twilight Zone (1959) is the only one I watch enough of to be considered binge watching.
Mostly I will just watch an episode or two of an old show.
@yakkoTDI I’ve been going through both the original Twilight Zone and Outer Limits.
I’d missed so many episodes of both, but also nice to watch ones I remember.
@blaineg I haven’t seen many episodes of The Outer Limits due to crappy TV stations growing up. Always liked what I saw so I need to check it out.
I did pick up the box set for The Twilight Zone a few years back once I realised it also included the '80 series.
The West Wing was great.
Superbly written!!
Not sure when you talk about “old” but I’m planning to watch law and order. Sooo that counts?
@adamsandler Considering the first episode was aired in September of 1990 I think we can consider it old.
X Files
If you haven’t watched the original Get Smart series GO DO THAT it is so good.

@haydesigner that’s what I do. I hate waiting a week for the next episode.
“Person of Interest” and “Burn Notice”
@rtjhnstn I need to watch Burn Notice again. It has been a while.
Jeffrey Donovan was so damn good in Burn Notice.
@rtjhnstn
PoI is probably the last great original sci-fi series (that’s not a port of another series or existing franchise)
Not old, but we burned through Renegade Nell (Disney) a couple of weekends ago. Great fun!
A friend and I are working our way through Northern Exposure 2-3 episodes at a time. Just as great as it was 30+ yrs ago.

@kdemo oh I love that series All the characters in it were hilarious.
I was watching season 6 of The Mentalist when I realized that the 2 FBI agents giving a briefing were Pedro Pascal and Emily Swallow. Who knew the FBI employed Mandalorians?
@rockblossom
I’m on season 4 of ER but see a lot of good ideas here after I finish it up.
@sammydog01 I’ve never seen that. I should give it a try.
Diagnosis Murder and Psych. Not a big TV person so try to avoid anything that will suck me in, but those two got me good.
The two leads on Psych had such insanely great chemistry.

How else do you watch them?
It’s like a good book. Sure you can put it down, but why?
@pakopako My first series I binge watched was 24 with Kiefer Sutherland and that was before streaming was even a thing. I had to go Blockbuster and rent seasons of the show.
I have a serious love for binge watching tv shows. I hate waiting a week for a new episode.
