@ACustomer@mehbee@mfladd I had been modding in a stream that keeps it kid friendly for quite a few hours by then. (See other post by me today) and yes. Mad ape den is amazing to request someone sings it!
@shahnm It’s because they all have their homes elsewhere! The Sanyo “Sound Base” is in the kitchen with a monitor, Roku and Echo Dot hooked up to it, one of those little JBL guys from early on is on my wife’s night stand. The Quirky Qi charger + wireless speaker is on my night stand, and I’m actually using the speaker currently in the garage. However, it doesn’t get at loud as I’d like when I’m wearing ear plugs.
Think I also got a pair of super shitty docks that came with Bluetooth receivers. I put one receiver in an old Bose dock my coworker gave me, and that’s in the master bath. Both of those docks are somewhere in the basement, honestly too shitty to even bother with.
Tl;Dr, I’m apparently the ideal Meh customer because I’ll keep buying speaker docks, so long as they’re cheap
@jont@hollboll why didn’t you destroy these and use these for racers? They deserved it. The cherished JBL docks of fucking awe-some bliss didn’t deserve it. They were just perfect (other than breaking around 9-16 months of use. But JBL was awesome to warranty replace if it failed within 1 year with something better)
@sohmageek our JBL Mini is going strong as is our Micro. And, so deeply regrettably, unlike with our Micro, we don’t have a backup Mini stowed away in the hoard room for when the Mini fails. Not looking forward to that…
@Barney I really don’t see why these would not function with ANY source with a 3.5mm phone plug… now where is that Sansa player…???
BTW, careful application of purple paint
could solve that problem as well.
Paused for the less interested? The late or lazy? Bob on it. My face feels like it looks like DeNiro right now, and that’s not comfortable. You and I have an understanding - I pay meh membership and you post items for meh to buy at Midnight. Vested int. = >$. The idea alone that your choice to not sell something, when it’s all you do, has a customer now looking into “pausing” membership until it’s suitable, reflects a larger clip of your customer base. When I shift meh membership to MorningSave, who does the shift in allocation effect? Oh, the money’s the same, but it’ll code to Bill now, not Bob. There’s one rule and it’s as easy as ABC. I Be Closing meh membership now.
@TheMeerkat Merely it would seem so, superficially even, although it could have been a turd. Principles matter. They are human and decent, kat. And no, that was not fury, but disbelief or surprise at the novel sales attempt.
Finally! This is my first ever speaker dock. My plan has been to put a dock with an old phone in the kitchen so I can listen to radio, music apps, downloaded music or even watch videos without pairing or worrying about charging. Currently I use this which can barely tune in to one station.
I’m tempted to buy just because literally yesterday afternoon I was thinking “Huh, I guess Meh got rid of all the speaker docks they had in inventory forever, I haven’t seen one on there in forever.” I kinda missed it. I’m actually getting a little verklempt over here.
I had one of these waaay back when they came out. Sounded very good when I had my galaxy S3 plugged into it. Though this may be a later model with better spec, I stopped using mine because the charger was weaksauce.
@jmbunkin Sometimes manufacturers will call their products refurbished because they don’t want to be responsible for them anymore. If they were sold as new, they’d may still have to carry the warranty.
BTW I see the deal is currently paused. Any idea if that means they have will the ‘non’ dreamer version available, or only the dreamer (fugly) ones?? When I looked earlier there was no mention of a pause, but the ‘plain’ one was sold out… but I foolishly (?) still bought one for the shop.
An Android speaker-dock? Is there such a thing? There really shouldn’t be. Hardware-wize, Android SUCKS. I have an 8YO iOS speaker-dock with an 8YO iPod Touch, and it is still awesome. The greatest feature by far is that the iPod can control the dock, waking the dock up if the dock is turned off and the alarm goes off. Can an Android dock do that?
@mellowirishgent The regular speaker dock works without the app and sounds good. Unfortunately the volume buttons on the dock or remote do nothing.
“There used to be an app that would make the Dreamer function as an alarm clock, but the app has since been removed from the store” sounds like it should not affect music playback.
I’m bummed. I got the bigger one, and it sounded decent… Except I had to hold the connector for both channels to work. I verified with several headphones, etc. that it wasn’t my phone. Already contacted support, so no issue there.
This applies to everything, from speaker docks to the girl at the end of the bar. From your morning coffee to your new career. Everything could always turn out to be incompatible. The consequences, of course, may vary.
