@Kyeh Ever since I discovered a super cheap banana smoothie mix, I’ve been making them often. They’re really tasty and not too bad for you, either! (I did once accidentally make one without the smoothie mix packet, which was still good, but not quite the same.)
I see that this thread is not political and as long as it remains so, it will remain open and available. The title is correct, there is ONE political thread, which is the same as it has been and will be. Thanks for understanding.
@ExtraMedium@f00lGreat question. Who appointed the Overlord(s) to determine what is (or isn’t) “political”?? Maybe meh hired the recently dismissed “Fact Checkers” from Facebook??
Being I just returned home from a week-long business trip, seems laundry and unpacking are in order with lots of attention for Charliedoggo.
Someone did not do well with my sudden absence (hunger strike until he made himself sick ). Before you ask, he was with my parents and Uncle Buddy the whole time, so the intense feelings were unexpected.
Since I got home, he has not let me out of his sight. Even in bed he is either laying nearly on top of my legs OR he has a paw on my arm to make sure I don’t sneak off while he is asleep.
Beyond that, IF we watch TV I will likely watch a few movies. Recently found out about Flawless and it sounds good.
@tinamarie1974 aw - poor doggo! Have you never been gone that long before? A sad as it can make you knowing how much he missed you, it does show how much you mean to him. You’re a good doggo mom!
@ybmuG Ive not. We found each other in 2020 and my company had a hold on work travel, until now. The only trip Ive taken was ~2 years ago when my uncle was dying. It was basically 48-72 hrs out and back again to say goodbye, and of course he stood with my parents. Other than that and his monthly grooming he is always with me.
I’m going to have to echo TM’s comments. Having just returned from 3 weeks in the Caribbean I have a ton of stuff to unpack, mail to process, pictures to download, bills to pay, sourdough starter to feed, etc etc. . Since we technically don’t have a TV, (we use a projector in the den) watching TV in the kitchen and other parts of the house is out of the question. I’ll see what shook out of all that tomorrow when I get ready the paper.
(Sorry to hear about Charlie. I have kind of the opposite problem. Bandit got chunky while we were gone. I think the girl that we had watching them was feeding them way more wet food than we normally do. He’s also been a total lap cat for the last 3 days. If I sit down he’s immediately on me. Smokey remains aloof, but is more approachable than she has been. She will tolerate being picked up and petted for short periods of time and actually came around while I was outside hanging laundry yesterday and wanted to be paid attention to. OTOH she was in heaven with all the boxes that came while we were gone once I unpacked them.
We just got back from the week’s cruise (more on that in the unblame-blame section) so catching up on the missed tv series (Dexter etc)-Have no interest in watching the shit that is going to unfold today.
Since I’ll be at work, I’ll most likely be working.
@narfcake “Most likely”
@narfcake
@Kyeh I saved this /showme from one of the prior AI threads.
@narfcake You’re so industrious! Working hard!
I’ll be a piece of sludge. Due to the cold.
@f00l Valid!
I’m hoping to bake some banana bread, because the temps are going to be in the teens, so it will help warm up the house. With the TV off.
@Kyeh That smells delicious already! You just reminded me to use the remainder of my current bunch for some banana smoothies before they get too ripe.
@PooltoyWolf That sounds good too!

@Kyeh @PooltoyWolf
Pro tip…Throw the super ripe bananas in the freezer first to thicken up your smoothie!
@chienfou @Kyeh I will try that, thanks!

@ExtraMedium Aye aye, captain!
@ExtraMedium
<Hope I am unlikely to create incendiary topics.>
Curious how “the rules” work in the forum.
One overall political topic per year?
One master political topic for all time?
@ExtraMedium @f00l Great question. Who appointed the Overlord(s) to determine what is (or isn’t) “political”?? Maybe meh hired the recently dismissed “Fact Checkers” from Facebook??
@f00l One political thread per election cycle. It’s plenty.
@IndifferentDude Mediocre (now Mercatalyst) appointed its staff as moderators, which makes sense as this is their forum.
@ExtraMedium @f00l @IndifferentDude When did private enterprise have to be a democracy?
@ExtraMedium @f00l @IndifferentDude I think it has a lot more to do with how you present your opinions.
@PooltoyWolf

For anybody who hasn’t seen the musical Hamilton
they’re still on in New York and they have three or four touring companies in this country alone I think or something like that
And then just an absolute work of genius
And just go see the damn thing
/youtube Hamilton king George Iii
King George’s character has 3 appearances in the play and they’re all wonderful
@PooltoyWolf

@ExtraMedium @f00l @IndifferentDude I kind of actually like how casemates does it with one per year. Because there’s always political topics
@Cerridwyn @ExtraMedium @f00l @IndifferentDude They carry on in such a civil way compared to here, too.
@ExtraMedium @f00l @IndifferentDude @Kyeh that is pretty much true.
@Cerridwyn @ExtraMedium @f00l @Kyeh Of course they’re civil at CaseMates … that’s because they’re all DRUNK
and could care less!!

@ExtraMedium @f00l @IndifferentDude @Kyeh no we are not. The forum is just different
Between that certain event and the college football championship game, I’m pretty much going to be glued to the TV. Which is weird for me…

That’s adorable.

No love for MLK?
@chienfou Yes to him…[removed politics]
