1x Evolution Microwave Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl With Lid Set
WARNING: You will absolutely want to make sure the lids on these are properly sealed when using! These sound neat, but I think they may give people a false sense of safety/security about being microwaveable.
They are certainly NOT microwaveable without the lid firmly/completely secured. My understanding is what makes them safe in the microwave is that when fully closed and sealed, none of the metal (which is all inside-only) is exposed, and if any happens to get exposed by a poor seal / etc, it will arc like any other metal thing in a microwave would
I bought this set a few months ago when it was on Meh. I’ve been using them as mixing and kitchen utility bowls and I like them a lot. I just tried the smallest one in my compact 700W microwave oven with a cup or so of water in it. I made sure to put the lid on tight and secure. I ran it for about a minute on high and nothing weird, like arcing, happened. What was a bit odd, though, is that the lid was warm, notably on the rubbery area that was over the rim of the bowl. I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s because that’s where most of the rubbery bits are versus the clear plastic that takes up most of the lid. Maybe it was something about the metal rim edge, although it is rounded and smooth. I really am not concerned about using the bowls, with the lid tightly fastened, in the microwave. The best thing about them is that something can be made in it (bread dough, I’m thinking of you) and covered with the lid instead of plastic wrap.

Metal In a microwave… What sort of black magic is this?!?
