I like the concept of a bento box, but this seems awfully small (even though it is listed as 16 oz + 8 oz + 8 oz by volume) given the potential weight of glass.
I am also surprised the glass is freezer safe. (I assume the “material: glass, BPA-free” was cut off to say “glass trays, BPA-free plastic lids, BPA-free plastic dressing cups”?)
A similar Amazon Basics Glass Food Storage (BPA-free locking lid, blue silicone ring) has added warnings which might apply here: the glass is borosilicate, lids are not rated to be microwave or oven safe, the glass (if borosilicate) is heat resistant to over 1,076°F.
If it isn’t borosilicate glass, it might be soda-lime glass, which has lower tolerances to hot and cold. (But it is widely recyclable; borosilicate glass would need a specialized recycling process.)
My S.O. has a build-your-bento collection of multiple sizes of individual glass lidded containers and several boxes to tote them in, providing multiple combination-of-size possibilities. If one glass container gets broken, we lose just that one. With these, any break takes out the whole deal. And you are stuck with the compartment sizes they provided, no adjusting by swapping to a different combination…
