Even though it’s in the design, it’s so far from my mind that when a friend of mine who saw the design started speculating about the taste of cat, I was like “Ewww how dare you put that in my mind, I have never even imagined it!” I’m just putting a cute, live cat in a sandwich to look cute, it should go no further

@sammydog01 - thank you, I was happy with how it turned out! I kept going back and forth between royal blue, eggplant, navy and black for the shirt color. Since it hasn’t gotten many votes so far, I’m slightly considering swapping out the color and removing the old one. I’m a bit partial to eggplant:D

I can’t understand how some of them have more votes than yours. A lot of them just seem so boring to me!

@jasneko @Kyeh @sammydog01 the voter preferences have long been a mystery. There seems be a number of new artists that have a lot of “friends” that vote well for them, but don’t ever buy the designs. Today’s feature is a good example… first place but few sales It’s a little disheartening.
@narfcake may have an opinion on this as well.

@jasneko @Kyeh @narfcake @sammydog01 It’s a mystery to me as well, but it’s apparently super-popular with kids and has adult humor for the parents to appreciate that goes over the heads of the little ones. Kinda like Spongebob did. But I haven’t seen it personally.

You need to do one of a decorated tree and a cat in the tree with it’s face showing as a “decoration”.

I had been thinking more of only the face, with those big open eyes you do on some of your cats (thinking of the photo I posted here several years ago of my friend’s cat who was in her tree with just his face showing). And the lights in your cat caught in the lights (and more of that style of art as well), a few ornaments on the tree. And a star on top that is lit. Umm yeah I realize I am telling the artist what to do and how to do it. Opps .

@Kyeh Thank you! I changed the background color a few times and then had to rearrange the birds when I finally decided on yellow (because previously the yellow birds were poking above the trees), which is why I submitted so late. Glad you like it!

Interesting - I saw that one design got rejected because it says Peanuts - yet they allow the use of the likenesses all the time?! I hate that, it’s such a ripoff, and too easy; often the joke isn’t clever and they’re just relying on the popularity of Peanuts characters.

I don’t understand woot and their choices at all . When I first started with woot these kinds of designs were totally forbidden and rejected - especially any character that basically looks exactly the same as the original.

@jasneko I just saw on the news that black and white Mickey Mouse is now in the public domain, so I wonder if he’ll start showing up. A lot of these images are still very much copyrighted, though, so I don’t get it.

@pakopako My suspicion is that one of the lines vanished abruptly when the noncompete ran out. The other one is nay so much a line as a permeable squiggle of smoke that allows each to politely ignore the other. There’s no still-active hard connection visible from outside, and probably no real one hiding in the bushes either, but the uncanny resemblance makes it clear that there’s a figurative Fird Birfel involved with both who has been a very busy fellow over the years.

But I very much doubt that Irk II will feature a cape, surgical tubing in his arms, and a motion sensitive chip that says “You know what bothers me?” A puppet version would probably sell well, and might spawn a spate of videos that could require a lot of disclaimers. (I’d certainly hope so, anyway.)

OTOH, a spring-loaded Glen leaping forth from a can would extend the hilarity rather a lot.
