@shahnm as to the cats value… He was free. Stray or lost tiny kitten found outside at work.
If I attempted to do the math… Easily the biggest single hit would be a blocked urethra when he was probably 3 or 4 that required surgery. 1K. And I wasn’t making much money. And I’m told I was ripped off. But emergency.
Tack on the usual vet and 13 years of food/litter/treats/toys/pet fees/trap that time he got out… Idk. He hasn’t maxed out his credit line yet.
@Kyeh it was a long long ass day and I might have but I just zoned out and thankfully for the cats I’m too late…
A long long time ago I had enough energy to chase him around the apartment for a few minutes. To the point he thought it wasn’t a game anymore and started growling… Whoops I thought we were playing. My bad. Backing away
@unksol Oh - yeah, the line between play and fighting isn’t always so clear with cats, is it. I’m sure it’s better for them that you didn’t buy this thing!
@Kyeh lmao that only happened one time idk exactly what I did. He is indoor… He’s gotten out of the house/apartment only three times and that… Short circuits him somehow. On the deck/balcony whatever you have a good time. Pick him up flip him over rub his belly, trim his claws etc. Zero fucks given. With me
When his feet touches dirt… Idk but he is going to fuck you up. If you pull him back in
@unksol Interesting. I had a cat who grew up never going outdoors. One time a door blew open and he got out and he was terrified of everything, including me! I had to leave the door open with some food right inside and let him come back on his own. At least I didn’t have to worry about him trying to get out!
When his feet touches dirt… Idk but he is going to fuck you up. If you pull him back in
I have one who is also indoor only. Got out once when my kid left the door open. Would not go on the grass. Only the pavement. Would lift a paw and shake it one at a time if on the grass. If my backdoor (back when this happened - have no backdoor now) had opened straight on to the grass instead of the driveway the cat would have never left the house.
@Kidsandliz@Kyeh Its not the dirt specifically. I just meant if he’s really outside outside. Somehow the deck is still the house in his head. Getting off it… He goes into terrified mode
@Kyeh@unksol I had one who loved going outside while in a harness and on a leash (took him a few times before he wasn’t scared of being outside). He’d quiver with excitement when I’d bring those things out, run to the door and wait for me to put the stuff on him. Of course what he’d do once outside pretty tame - eat grass, poke around a bit perhaps trying to catch a grasshopper or bee or on occasion a butterfly, poke at ants and then sit in the shrubbery watching the world. He wasn’t too sure about the birds and squirrels. Ironically he liked to sit under the very window he’d look out.
The first time I put a harness and leash on him though was something else. Trailing the leash he was running and doing flips trying to get rid of the stuff. Leash got caught on a table leg and it brought him up short mid flip. From there on out he accepted the harness and leash. And of course then loved them once he connected what he got to do once they were on.
@Kyeh lol. I specifically didn’t go looking for the leftovers at the other sites once I made it past impulse buy. Cause I knew it would probably be there.
I still have some if the micro drones in box if I want to mess with the cats. So. Eh.
@eeterrific rechargeables are your friends. Especially with frequently used high drain toys. I would honestly consider this a massive improvement to use standard AAs over those custom 9.6V packs which were still just nimh or nicad AAs you had to buy for rc cars. Or the tyco flex pacs
@katbyter According to the questions on Amazon, it’s 14-15" high. Those measurements appear to be for the box.
Sadly, according to the questions, it doesn’t carry beer. It thus fails my equivalent of the Turing test. (Open refrigerator, select a good beer (not the mass produced stuff), check beer temperature, take the beer without knocking anything over, close the refrigerator, find me, open the beer, serve the beer “What? You forgot the glass? Ugh. Useless robot!”)
If this had a rechargeable battery pack I would be in but it will need around $394,934,903 worth of batteries a year in my calculations. I may be off ( worked for the pentagon for a few years) but WOW!
@bugger enloops are generally the best. Ikea also has some good packs with charger if you have one. Amazon basics are fine. But need to buy a charger obviously.
@bugger@lhospent this assumes you have no other use for rechargeables. Which you may not. I go through batteries at such a slow rate the rechargeables I do have don’t make much of an impact.
However if your a normal person who you know… Is considering it for a kid instead of just to chase/confuse your cats… or I guess to watch your kid chase the cats. They probably have a lot of other battery operated toys and when you start adding up the cost of the akelines…

@blaineg I saw tons of reviews!
I was super excited when I first saw this toy especially since my son is getting into a robot phase so this toy couldn’t have come at a better time. Setting this up is super easy, first turn on the robot and then the controller, either to the auto setting or manual setting, and wait for the lights (green for auto, red for manual) to slowly flash, if it is quickly flashing that means it either isn’t linked or that the bot is too far (I found that if you move the bot closer and turn it on and off it will usually pair pretty fast) as soon as it pairs the robot begins to move and makes noises to let you know its ready to go. With smaller kids I suggested using the auto mode, this mode the arms and head will move automatically as you move the robot back and forth and left and right. With the manual mode, while the controller looks really complicated it’s actually really easy to move. First two controls are a control for both arms that allow you to rotate and raise the arms and you can do cool things like wave, dance and if you are coordinated enough and have items put at the right level (it a waist doesn’t move to really items light and above the waist) you can move items with it as well as you can put items in its hands (claw) to grip and carry. Another cool feature when it comes to controlling the bot is controlling the head to look left, right, up and down making seem almost lifelike movement which my little guy loved, even in the manual mode it almost seemed like it’s was looking around checking out the surroundings. Of course it also has the basic forward, backwards, left, and right rolling movements and it does work really well on carpet, but some thicker carpets you might have issues turning left and right. Another cool feature is that this robot can either record your child’s voice with a press of a button and repeat it back for fun messages and allow them to change it to various different sounding voices but they can also use it to spy and listen to people, and don’t worry this robot movements are loud enough to know whether your kids are using it to spy on you. This robot also has programmed dance moves when you press the demo button there is five dance selection that you can choose and it plays music it dances to, and it even has settings so you can program movements yourself with the tracking button, which older kids might enjoy. Lastly despite all the things this robot can do it surprisingly light weight and kids can are easily pick it up and carry around if they need to. Overall this robot is super cool and will definitely see a lot of play time with your kids.
@Kerig3 I thought it did at first until I saw the third wheel. It’s probably hard to balance with the arms waving all over the place. My Mip minion is maybe my favorite robot.
/giphy minion
@sammydog01 The only reason I bought my MiP was for its Segway-like balancing on two wheels. Well that and also because it was in a clearance bin for only $20.

Will it connect to skynet?
@IcePopBOD Yes
I reeaaaalllyyy need a scale pic next to a cat to determine its value.
@unksol Your cat might have a problem with the controller. Otherwise, it would great gift for the furball.
@unksol Why do you want to determine a cat’s value, and how exactly does your valuation technique actually work??
@eeterrific @unksol Your cat will need to be one of the ones with thumbs to use the controller.
@shahnm I need to know the size relative to the cat to know if it will be an entertaining gift for me.
Is no one else seeing this?
Product Dimensions: 12" (L) x 16" (W) x 7.13" (H) Inches
It’s shorter than it is length and width?
The the image says it’s 14.00in(5.51cm) tall?
This does not compute. In many ways.
Someone thinks there is 2.54 inches to a centimeter which is not how that works.
@unksol Yeah, where’s the banana?
@hchavers that would be acceptable. I can interpolate.
/image banana and cat
@unksol heres a human adult for scale from the hsn youtube video
@communist but how tall is the humon
@communist @unksol Yes, as that pic demonstrates, human height is not a standard measure.
@mehcuda67 my father-in-law has a polydactyl feline. Biggest thumbs I’ve ever seen. Almost like double paws.
@shahnm as to the cats value… He was free. Stray or lost tiny kitten found outside at work.

@eeterrific @mehcuda67 @unksol
@unksol Picture #2 shows it next to an orange cat, on the upper right.
@Kyeh but… Is that a 5.51cm cat? Or a 14 inch cat? And is he long? Or wide? Cant be high.
And looks like marketing material. I trust meh for my cat annoyance questions
@unksol It probably is a photoshopped .
@Kyeh regaurdless you caught me lol I didn’t zoom in. And was hung up on the dimensions. And what use would it be… Hmmm ok right.
@unksol So are you getting one of these?
@Kyeh it was a long long ass day and I might have but I just zoned out and thankfully for the cats I’m too late…
A long long time ago I had enough energy to chase him around the apartment for a few minutes. To the point he thought it wasn’t a game anymore and started growling… Whoops I thought we were playing. My bad. Backing away

Wow…9 batteries. Would consider it, but kid would just run it until it died. Then more batteries. Assault and batteries??
@eeterrific check your refrigerator.
@eeterrific @Stumpy91 We’re going to need more refrigerators.
@eeterrific rechargeables are your friends. Especially with frequently used high drain toys. I would honestly consider this a massive improvement to use standard AAs over those custom 9.6V packs which were still just nimh or nicad AAs you had to buy for rc cars. Or the tyco flex pacs
@eeterrific @unksol hahaha I remember those little red plastic bricks that got hot when you charged them.
Eneloops are way nicer and more versatile
@eeterrific @Seeds
For the younguns.

@unksol I believe I have a half dozen of those sitting in a box in a storage closet, which I’m sure are dead by now.
@eeterrific @Seeds @unksol oh my God I forgot about those batteries
@Kerig3 it would not be hard to make new packs to get the cars running. I know a have a tyco typhoon and a tantrum…
Do kids still like RC stuff? Or their parents just give them a phone to play on
Will this thing successfully buy IRKs for me?

@hchavers It is important to know your place, human.
heres a hsn video to get a sense of how smol it is
@communist the lady claims that they have the last of the stock. Lies!
Also I love how they talk about how his daughter programmed “the flossy”.
@communist originally 149! Does meh offer flexpay??
Nine AAs that aren’t included? What do you think I’m made of AAs?
@DoctorOW Depends. You got a nice AAs?
@DoctorOW @eeterrific Or nice two nice Ds?

Buy once. Use in all their toys. Done.
@unksol thank you
@bugger enloops are generally the best. Ikea also has some good packs with charger if you have one. Amazon basics are fine. But need to buy a charger obviously.
@bugger @unksol Even with rechargeables, this brings the total price up to over $70 which is too much for a novelty.
@bugger Does this use the new math?
@bugger @lhospent this assumes you have no other use for rechargeables. Which you may not. I go through batteries at such a slow rate the rechargeables I do have don’t make much of an impact.

Does anybody remember the way they used hardbodies to promote products in their catalogs?
@RedOak Especially their exercise equipment that only about 1% of us could afford.
I came to this thread to see if @sammydog01 had purchased one yet.
No signs of Sammy! Blasphemous!
@RiotDemon That’s exactly why I’m here. She’s slacking!

@blaineg @julesbr30 STOP MAKING ME WANT ONE. Because I kind of want one.
@julesbr30 That was way too literate for a fake review.
@julesbr30 @ThunderChicken Did they breathe even once?
@blaineg Probably at the periods. But I would not have made it between some of those.
I bet the 17 seconds this would last around my dog would be super fun!
Will it go get me another beer?
@crashcom No, but once it logs into Skynet it’ll crush you like an empty beer can.
I want fighters for that kind of money
Boxers.
@CosmicTwister
We had a similar one years ago, probably from Woot. It was great and a ton of fun, until a battery got stuck and we couldn’t get it out.
However…intellectually disabled son means I still buy toys, so I’m in.
Too bad it doesn’t actually balance on its wheels like the MiP robot that I already own.
@Kerig3 I thought it did at first until I saw the third wheel. It’s probably hard to balance with the arms waving all over the place. My Mip minion is maybe my favorite robot.

@Kerig3 And it can dance and bring you a drink. A very small drink.
Wait. Is this a Chinese spy?
Not sure if this is allowed, but here’s a video of the robot in action:
@GirlPleeeeze encouraged. Thanks!
@GirlPleeeeze It hasn’t any sensors to detect edges? Those types of sensors are rather old tech. That HSN demo was a fail at the start.
@GirlPleeeeze
Actually you will be hard pressed to cross THAT threshold here!
I wonder if the parts are worth more than the actual item? I might be able to cannibalize it to make this:

How the heck do you order this thing?
@lomo1954 you would go to meh.com and click buy. But meh.com is one sale a day and that was Friday. So it’s over. Sometimes the leftovers show up at sistersites like morningsave.com and I’m told it was over there at one point but I can’t find it now. So if might just be sold out.

Ha ^ that is a link to it and not just a pic
@unksol ok thanks for the info!!
@james thank you too… Idk why I could not find it over there. The morningsave search was not getting me there nor was google site search. I must be having an off day lol
@lomo1954 Did you find meh via the feature of this deal on cnet?
@james @lomo1954 @unksol I went over and ordered one for my grandson. Thanks!
Robot specs say it weighs over 2.5 pounds. The shipment box from Fed-Ex says total shipping weight is 1 pound. What gives? It’s no wonder this phantom marvel never arrived.
Check for my review on the Better Business Bureau’s website next week…
@whkjr Often times, initial package weights do not reflect the actual package but is just a placeholder. It’s typically updated at the next depot but in this busy season, it’s less likely.
Also the delivery dates are noted in the top post.
@narfcake @whkjr yes… And check your tracking number. Meh.com shipping is meh(slow) to save you money. I’ve never had a package from them not show up.
@narfcake @unksol @whkjr I would bet they shipped these fedex ground. Every shipper is bogged down right now.
@sammydog01 well those shippers better watch for my review on BBB’s site next week!
@Ignorant If we all work together I bet we could drive those bastards at Fedex right out of business.
Give it to a crazy person for endless entertainment. Best thing I’ve purchased on meh in awhile, 5/5!
I’d write what it’s saying to me, but there are children on this site
This delivery changing every day. Going from Wed to Friday. I’m which I will not be home
Just got ours - bought thru Meh 2 wks ago. I am itching to open it and go crazy but it’s a gift - for our 33 year old nerd programmer son. He’ll love it.
Mine was dropped off for Toys for Tots.
got it for my kiddo. new batteries in it; powers on but won’t connect to remote. continues to make same sound over and over.
@chasity_boyce
Were you able to fix it?
@chasity_boyce
So apparently it only pairs when the operator reaches the height of frustration and desperation. After it pairs the first time, it seems to be fine.
