Shark Steam and Spray mop troubleshooting!
1Hello my fellow Ah-meh-ricans,
Did any of you also receive a S.S.&S.M.?
Was your model also thoughtfully prefilled with water?
Also thankfully devoid of those dangerous chemicals advertised as included on the packaging?
Fantastic! Welcome to ownership of an incredibly cool device!
But wait!
For some reason your device is not functional?!
And for some reason is missing all warranty information/any sort of manual!?
Not to worry, this thread is your FRIEND!
Really though, the manual is pretty awful, and I couldn’t find any help online, so here’s what I did to get the steam to work.
Step one: make sure the reservoir is full of water.
Step two: make sure the mop is plugged in.
Step C(optional) : unscrew the thin cover over the steam exhaust, and shove a paperclip in there. To dislodge any blockage.
Step IV: while the mop is on (steady blue light) wait thirty seconds and then, while making a seal with your lips, force air into the water reservoir. You should hear some popping and hissing as the motor finally catches and starts to pump water through the heater.
Feel free to add any troubleshooting steps that I missed down below.

If your steam mop has gotten scaly because of your hard water and is refusing to steam, you can put about 1/8th of a cup of vinegar into reservoir and let it sit overnight with the water/vinegar mix inside. Then empty the reservoir and refill with water or your preferred solution. It should start steaming away.
You can also add a heavy pinch of salt to your reservoir to encourage steaming.
