Question 17 - skills
8For my last (snif) question during my Goatdom, I’d like you to tell me something you’re good at. What is it? Tell me all the stuff you excel at!
(I’m semi good at spelling, and baking, and I make a good tapenade dip. That’s all I personally got. Oh, and eating, and sleeping, if I’m being real here.

I am really great at being below average and mediocre. Hence the reason I’m here.
Modesty
I am also a pretty fair speller. (Which my wife takes ample advantage of…)
I also am a pretty good carpenter/cabinet maker/handyman.
Oh and I am good at starting IVs. If I’m in the hospital I get called up to the floor from the ER to hit those they can’t get a lot of times…
I, too, am good at spelling. Phones and autocorrect try very hard to fix that for me though. Also troubleshooting things and computers in general, which keeps me employed. I try to be good at everything, but there are some things I’m not good at like keeping a clean car or doing things early in the morning.
Thanks for all the questions!
Clicking. I’m damn good at clicking. (Currently 2076 days in a row.)
Also, like @chienfou, I’m very good at starting IVs. I’m also the go-to person when we have a tough stick. I’ve been asked to go stick patients to avoid having to put PICC lines in. It’s a blessing and a curse. Walking out of the room after getting the tough ones on the first attempt gives you that extra little bounce in your step for a few hours. However, knowing those tough patients are now going to ask for you every time they come in puts a lot of pressure on you.
I’m reasonably skilled at Look Smart Trivia. At least I used to be, before @JasonToon ripped it from our hearts.
Being super empathetic to the point that if I see a video of someone getting hurt, I feel like I’m being punched. I also cry at the drop of a hat lately.
Painting my nails, when I feel like it.
Carving Halloween pumpkins.
Being handy in general.
Googling, apparently.
I’ve been told that I’m a wealth of information… It’s not always terribly useful, however.
Clavvy and Chien’s comments reminded me that I am also good at donating blood. The technicians always like my veins and I usually get that bag full pretty fast.
@moonhat
yep… that too. I have a 5 gallon pin somewhere *(closer to 6 now), and my closet is at least 50% LifeSouth blood donor shirts. I am looking forward to the 16th when they will be here to collect and I will get a free CoViD antibody test out of the deal (plus the shirt, cookies and a drink!)
@chienfou good job on the 5 (or 6!) gallons! I recently hit the “100 donations” mark, that was exciting! But I only get the pins usually, (and of course cookies and beverages) but have certainly never received any shirts! I’m assuming you’re in the health care industry! (And thank you very much for doing what you do- especially nowadays!)
@moonhat the techs are always happy to see my veins. Yes, that is my vein. Kind of impossible to miss, except that it did happen once. They were quite embarrassed.
I used to be good at remembering things, then I lost my memory and now I don’t know what I’m good at
@tonirene
I know how that one goes.
@tonirene
I’m good, nay, the best ever, at being in denial. No one comes close to my ability to being in denial and I won’t let any of you tell me otherwise.

I’m good at baking, cooking, defiantly multitasking, crafting, DIY stuff, bar and outdoor games like bags, washers etc, decorating, gardening, keeping up a house, taking care of other people like my dad and girly stuff like nails, makeup, shoes, hair and dressing up. I also know a lot of random sometimes useful sometimes not stuff. Was good a math while in school don’t ask me to do it now, can’t spell for shit.
@Star2236
Clearly you just did… F-O-R S-H-I-T is correct…
Procrastinating.
@speediedelivery I was going to say that but decided to wait until tomorrow to do so.
@OnionSoup I am still planning my answer. I have a very busy schedule this week as I am staycationing.
I’m good at judging others
and being sarcastic (it’s my superpower).
@j2
My sister things I’m so rude and negative all the time, she never gets my sarcasm.
@j2 in our family, sarcasm in our love language.
Using my BBQ to make some delicious food. I’m also getting better at running. I think I’m pretty decent at my job too
Trivia. Try me.
Oh, and googling.
@ESQuireTech Between knowing trivia and googgling, you should be good at these: https://www.theatlantic.com/free-daily-crossword-puzzle/ (in case you haven’t seen them before). Reading many articles there takes a subscription, but not the puzzles. They go from easy (Monday) to fairly hard (Friday); Sunday’s is not usually THAT hard, but longer. I did think today’s was harder than the usual Wednesday’s – took me and the search engine about 11 minutes for it, as opposed to the usual less than 4 or 5. Early week have straightforward clues, later more deceptive. Usually a fair number of references to current popular culture (why I have to google).
@ESQuireTech @phendrick triviatoday.com has wonderful daily trivia questions sent to your email. usually a couple a day I think.
I’m awesome at complaining, whining, doing nothing, oh! and fingerpointing.
POPSOCKETS! SPROCKETS! DAVY CROCKETT! AWESOME!
I’m good at appreciating the wit and perspicacity of others, like here on Meh.
