Please enjoy my friend's dad's never-quite-made-it rock band
10Driving home from work recently I heard this song on one of the local college radio stations. I was like, ooh, I love this song! And then I was like, wait, jazz flute and a horn section–this is THE FLOCK! The Flock was a Chicago progressive rock band that had a couple of minor hits but never broke through to the big time, though not for lack of talent. I admit I mostly know them because I’m friends with Fred Glickstein’s daughter.
Here’s some cool live footage, Fred is the sweet gnome on guitar:

I lived in Chicago then, I’m pretty sure I saw these guys play - I worked in record stores at the time and remember the album. We always pushed the local music stuff … good for your friend’s dad, living his dream.
But they DID make it. To exactly where they needed to be.
@lovepeace888 Fred?
No - his daughter!
